Legends. This band is so pure. Level 42 are such talented musicians with great chemistry. Mike Lindup's falsetto voice is so catchy. One of the best. He comes from a very talented famous musical family. Both his mother and father are legendary. And Mark King is one of the greatest bass players of all time.
Love this group and if this video was shot in the paradise garage nyc people would have been losing there minds this was a garage classic Larry Levan loved it
Will you also be treated by security as a potential danger to Mark King, LOL? I saw them once, in Southampton, but I had one hate incident while I was walking from my home to the venue and next, one of the security people kept his eyes on me like I was a paranoid maniac about to do something crazy until he realized what I was actually looking at and then he had the good sense to back of. Britain's rampant misogyny is truly revolting. And it's sick that only men are allowed to enjoy music here. Women are all supposed to be after some dude's genitals or whatever. It's sick.
You have to see them live to experience this for real - I know people who had reservations about them, then saw them live and couldn't believe it - later said it was the best gig they had ever seen. True musical professionals to the core... So there you go!

Superb performance, but that bloody trumpet/horn section threatened to ruin it, they had a bit of a show-off house band talk show sound to them at times. They should have calmed it a bit, they almost overwhelmed and masked Mark Lindups beautiful synths and falsetto on top of that stellar bassline and drum rhythm.
Mark King is one of the greatest bass players ever.
Very underrated & unsung, for sure.

2:50 sounds a bit like Jamiroquai💝
Jamiroquai definitely took influence from the early 80s Level 42 sound.
Thay sounds Amazing but Smathing about yoy is still my favorite can't bet that one love it 💞 💞 💞

What effect are you using on the bass during the verses?
Superb performance, but that bloody trumpet/horn section threatened to ruin it, they had a bit of a show-off house band talk show sound to them at times. They should have calmed it a bit, they almost overwhelmed and masked Mark Lindups beautiful synths and falsetto on top of that stellar bassline and drum rhythm.
Agree. Wasn't too happy when they said about bringing back a brass section - a la the hen pecked horns. Level live is better without.
It"s studio live .... new 40 years old concept ...
where's the bears jersey? lol
Is this the original drummer. ???????
gdcskates Phil Gould was the Original drummer for Level 42. Pete Ray Biggin is the new drummer. Pete can blaze!
Couldn't Nathan's find a louder shirt
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏🤝🙏🤙✌🌹🍎🤨🤝🤣😉👊
Nice! Loved it. But the drummer fucked up twice on that key electric tom fill. :-(
What instrument do you play?
