Level 42 has updated their sound.This band has been around a long time. Very adaptable, very current, and always a pure pleasure to hear. Its the right combination of instruments and vocals with the right beat and tempo. Now with the added horn section added to the band, Level 42 is even greater than before. Good going Level 42. You will always be one of my favorite bands!!

@@michaelb.42112 I agree. Only the very best musicians get the chance to play in that band. Mark's younger brother Nathan is also coming along nicely on lead guitar, too. As for Mark and Mike, they are each sounding better than ever. All of them are very talented.

The level42 show in the 80's in Düsseldorf Philipshalle (pre show band 'the blessing') was my very first live show I have seen ever.
here I decided to start a job / business as free lightning / video engineer and I did it really, was many many years worging for satis&fy ag germany and many other companys. had to enjoy a level show in leverkusen/jazz tage and could to the setup for the ground support rig there.
so hope to see you in Eschweiler.... 🤠😎

Sean is a local lad, too. Whereas he is from Whitley Bay, I come from Newcastle Upon Tyne itself.
Like the rest of the band, Sean is a top class musician and he really adds to their trademark sound

I was at the gig, it was so exciting to hear this live for the first time. Kind of wish they would release a full new brit funk album. Sirens Ep had too many drum machines on it! Look forward to seeing them in York next week!

After 40 years Level 42 is as great as ever. Now they not only have previous hits to enjoy but now they have an updated sound. I enjoy both. One of the greatest bands ever.

Yes, it really reminds me of their 'The Early Tapes' era, but just updated. A killer track. I've got the 'Sirens' E.P on both CD and Vinyl and I love it.

As far as I know, former backing vocalist Annie McCaig hasn't performed with the band since the 'Guaranteed' album and tour in 1991.
She certainly didn't appear on either 'Forever Now' (1994), 'Retroglide' (2006) or 'Sirens' E.P. (2013).
So presumably, she's either busy working on other projects or she may have retired.

I agree. I'm not sure why this wasn't better received by a lot of the die-hard fans. I think it sounds completely them as they sound best.
This track is majic but some less so. Love Them ( The Chaps) though, always will.
