- In this video we will walk through the potential tones you can get by plugging a guitar into the SY-1000 without a GK3 pickup. We address the kind of tones you can get with a normal pickup. We will also cover the guitar modeling and the types of Guitar tones available when you use the GK3 pickup.
You will see how versatile this synth can be as you can plug anything into it. It is the only guitar synth that does this. Is manual Mode the same as hittng the CTL button? Great video!
The SY-1000 has two modes of operation. Each mode affects the way you navigate the synth. The modes are memory mode and manual mode. Memory mode allows you to navigate by presets. Manual mode still allows you to navigate by presets, but it is a little harder to do it that way. With manual mode, you have the option to turn on and off four addition items in your preset. The preset numbers become CTL functions.
I have set up a control function switch to go back and forth from manual mode to memory mode for each preset. I had to change this using the software and customize the original patch. It is not hard to do when you use the software. If I use an external control function pedal, this gives me 6 more CTL functions for each patch. One of the CTL functions will be used to switch back and forth from memory mode to manual mode.

Thanks for posting this video Marcus. I have a SY-1000, GM-800, GP-10, and both GK-3 and GK-5 equipped guitars. I especially like the deep dive you did about the SY-1000. I have had mine for a year now, but learned a lot from this video. Keep up the great work.
