i did this today with my family of four and 2 guides and we hit the corner of a rock and everyone flew out except for me and one fo the guides. it was insane
i love watching this cause i sit behind the screen going how come they didnt paddle this way and that way or lean. but really i have never done it so i keep the comments like that to myself and enjoy their ride/pain.
I love Kevin Hart's Ocoee River Rafting stand up routine! He actually paid attention during the safety talk. His take on Hell Hole is over the top! He should come back and run Godzilla on the Upper next time.
How does the Ocoee compare to the Gauley? I’ve rafted the New River multiple times and the Lower Gauley. Haven’t had the balls to do the Upper Gauley yet. Do you know how this trip would compare? I would love to do a marathon of trips on a road trip
The Upper Ocoee has some lazy stretches to warm up before the first class 4 rapid. The most memorable part of the Upper Ocoee is the 1996 Olympic whitewater slalom course. The Middle Ocoee has lots of continuous class 3 action and is more technical and tight than the New or Gualey. If you really want the goods about the Ocoee River visit my guidebook at fastfreds.com/raft
Does this qualify as a class 4 or 5? Also, this section of the Ocoee, are most of the rapids big like this, or is this an exception on an otherwise relatively tame river?
The Upper Ocoee is class IV with class IV rapids named Mikeys, Blue Hole, Callahan's, Gozilla, Humongous, and Roach Motel. The Olympic Channel is where the most class IV action is located. The Middle Ocoee is class III with two class III+ rapids named Broken Nose and Table Saw. Many outposts and guides make false claims that the middle has class IV; it does not. The Upper does not contain any class V. See my guidebooks if you want more information and all the rapid names: fastfreds.com/OcoeeRiverGuidebook/middle.html and fastfreds.com/OcoeeRiverGuidebook/upper.html If you have more questions please let me know. FastFredRuddock thanks, man! If ever I wander down that way, I’m definitely going to get in touch with you for guide information (I grew up in Georgia, but have been in Pennsylvania for several years now).
Yep everyone survived in the video. I generally withhold or delete footage that contains graphic images of injury. I also shoot video on class V-V+ rapids not just easy stuff like the Ocoee River where it is much safer.
The Ocoee Whitewater Center, near Ducktown, Tennessee, United States, was the canoe slalom venue for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and is the only in-river course to be used for Olympic slalom competition. Address: 4400 US-64, Copperhill, TN 37317
BudRow23, The Upper Ocoee runs every Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day. The Middle Ocoee runs every day other than Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Come rafting with me.
I am not homeless. I am a free range river hippie. As I write this I have just returned to the USA after six months in Peru and Ecuador pursuing another endless summer.

Come join the fun. If you paddle and listen to your guide you won't make it on one of these videos.
so nice video really enjoyed this video 100%
The season is upon us again. You should consider joining the fun this year. fastfreds.com/raft
It's always fun watching the rookie action. Good on ya Fred!
It never gets old. I wonder how much free time I will have this season to make more fun videos like this one?
That guy standing up at 2:00
Awesome
He sure did ham it up! The river is back on if you want to go watch or rafting.
Thanks!
We can't have a skinny guide.
Love these videos coming from the american out west! Looks awesome
Glad you like this East Tennessee rafting actions or rather fails. I will be returning soon from South America.
Cool, must check it out. Got here by listening to Kevin Hart's comedy routine about his trip. LOL

Me and my church are going June 27 😃 really excited
Who are y'all rafting with on the 27th?
FastFredRuddock we will be rafting with the youth of our church. We are from Mississippi
So many of these "rafting" places look for guides by listing, "Do you know how to hold a paddle, then you could be one of our rafting "guides".
Ha ha, that's a good one! Most say no experience required. There is a huge difference between a raft guide and a river guide.
That was me my mom and my dad on Sunday at the 7:00 mark with ED the raft guide😝😎 blue shirt
I'm the guy on the front page red boat

I work on the Ocoee.
I can't help but wonder what happens to all of the paddles that are dropped in the river.
The lost paddles and other gear lodges in rocks river right of Roach Motel downstream.
Lmao today I got thrown out of the raft in the Godzilla rapid
Sorry I was not there to see it!
FastFredRuddock oh it’s ok it was a very slow fall I kinda slid like half the boat on the right side then fell in on a ledge
FastFredRuddock if u want I can send u the vid
FastFredRuddock my lnsatgram in xx_the_flip_king_500_xx
@Galaxy___Gamer6100 YT thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the vid.

@FastFredRuddock You guys need Incept rafts.
I am always on the look out for pro-deals and sponsors. I can assure you that products will get views!
Where can I park and watch this?

FastFredRuddock thanks!! I live in Chattanooga. Do they run this all summer?
BudRow23, The Upper Ocoee runs every Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day. The Middle Ocoee runs every day other than Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Come rafting with me.
FastFredRuddock I'm a terrible river rat. I had to swim through the lesser wesser last weekend after getting flipped in a funyak 😂😂
That is understandable! Try out a middle trip on the Ocoee. Water is much warmer here.
You big homeles
