One of the best tracks I've ever heard! I love how this track is build and travels through the story. First: restless, pushing beats - you can tell there's something wrong (voice samples in the background). I especially love the contrast between the desperate, lonely voice and the pushing beats. Then the bridge: So absolutely desperate, the voice is almost sobbbing and crying (listen for the little melody and the fading sounds) This feels so absolutely, deeply sad! Then there comes the light (3:43) - the hope returns and never leaves us for the rest of the song. I get goosebumps every time. The beats sound so hopeful and drive us to go on - make the next step out of misery, and the next one, the next one... Wow, this song is almost lyrical! I just LOVE this track!

Can you miss something you never had? When i listen to this i feel like i'm in the 90's in some European city at night, driving on a beach road with a pretty girl sitting next to me, even tho i was just a little kid back then and this never happened, i get this almost painful feeling wishing that it did.
man sometimes i relive in those kinds of thoughts and "spiritual" memories and feelings from time to time, when i think on some girls whose i once used to love! how powerfull trance can be in our lifes man! :´)
Smith & Pledger back in the day was the best duo on trance stage. They had many tunes, maybe some two or three are not spectacular or amazing, but they didn't deliver anything, I mean ANYTHING worse than at least good quality uplifting trance. So much good tunes from these two guys, I whish they could have make a comeback one day as a duo...
It is just incredible how easilyI can close my eyes and take a journey back in time by 20 years. The absolute love for the music that will make me cry if I let it. Such beauty here!
It's always personal, with music and so many other things.. For me, thre tunes from the top if my hat, tgat are even better (mind you.. this thread makes it seem like 200x is the roits of trance, me being a mid 90's dan & raver, I love those tunes and "Amsterdam" shurely was inspired by these times. Folks even older than me will rightfully argue the roots of trance were rather 1991 or so, "Hello San Francisco" e. g... So here my three ones - gotta say though, if you feel female vocals are an essential ingredience, you are not going to love these: 1) Cybertrance - Blue Alphabet 2) The First Rebirth - Jones & Stephenson 3) Café Del Mar - Energy 52 (Kid Paul Mix)
Honestly the greatest track ever produced (in my opinion), still listen to this all the time to this day. Something about the production value and story telling just hits on this one, haven't heard anything come close.

Can you miss something you never had? When i listen to this i feel like i'm in the 90's in some European city at night, driving on a beach road with a pretty girl sitting next to me, even tho i was just a little kid back then and this never happened, i get this almost painful feeling wishing that it did.
Trancevestite i know exactly how you feel, its like a memory that never existed....i wonder if theres a word for it
man sometimes i relive in those kinds of thoughts and "spiritual" memories and feelings from time to time, when i think on some girls whose i once used to love! how powerfull trance can be in our lifes man! :´)
@@t.kahraba763 Wow, I agree with both of you, I felt the same back in those days, such a nostalgic Tune!
@@ganeshvadcar8098 Same
Same, i imagine night 2006 Amsterdam, driving car like bmw 328 or toyota celica, with my girlfriend
Smith & Pledger back in the day was the best duo on trance stage. They had many tunes, maybe some two or three are not spectacular or amazing, but they didn't deliver anything, I mean ANYTHING worse than at least good quality uplifting trance. So much good tunes from these two guys, I whish they could have make a comeback one day as a duo...
it's mind boggling how many quality tunes they put out together. Literally every tune is a classic in my book.
This has been one of my favorite trance songs for like 10 years! I still listen to it regularly.
Still here in 2024. Closing tune to FoundTreasures so often. So great.
So damn great. Also made me think of 'Can't Sleep' wich is just as pleasant to dust of!
This is an all time favourite! Nothing beats the classics ❤️️
Best track I've ever heard. Even after DJing all kinds of stuff for 15+ years.
It is just incredible how easilyI can close my eyes and take a journey back in time by 20 years. The absolute love for the music that will make me cry if I let it. Such beauty here!
Trance can make me dance, smile and cry at the same time. It's a pure emotional release
@@internationallanguageofdan3559 Absolutely!
Still holds so well today, a timeless classic. They don't make tracks like this anymore :(
Still get goosebumps listening to this absolute gem of a tune. All time classic! 🔥🔥🔥
2021, still my all time favorite trance music
Best of the best
its one of best trance music
Yes! I'm always thrilled to see what Smith and Pledger has to bring to the table.
Best trance track ever !
Folks even older than me will rightfully argue the roots of trance were rather 1991 or so, "Hello San Francisco" e. g... So here my three ones - gotta say though, if you feel female vocals are an essential ingredience, you are not going to love these:
1) Cybertrance - Blue Alphabet
2) The First Rebirth - Jones & Stephenson
3) Café Del Mar - Energy 52 (Kid Paul Mix)
If there is a song that captures the soul and vibe of trance at its peak, its this one. Still haunting after so many years..
Goose bumps all the way through.
Honestly the greatest track ever produced (in my opinion), still listen to this all the time to this day. Something about the production value and story telling just hits on this one, haven't heard anything come close.
Beautiful tune 💫💙
So beautiful!!
