This brings back memories. Iron Soldier and AvP were the stand outs for me on the Jag back in the day. I was one of the few who also bought the CD add-on and had Iron Soldier 2 on that. Much the same but I seem to remember it had some textures. I really should dig out my Jag. I bet the CD unit no longer works, they do have a reputation...

Great mech game Iron Soldier, beat the game years ago. Bought a Jaguar from a shop in Windsor first year it was released in UK. I have twenty or so games for it.
The third game I had for my Jaguar, it didn’t get as much love as Alien vs Predator, but did love it. And inspired me to get Mech Warrior for the PC later in life.
AvsP, a nice skin of Wolfenstein 3D! Lol. Nice one Chris. I've been playing with BigPemu quite a bit. AvsP mostly. I've managed to set it up so that the analogue sticks, on the xbox360 pad I use, work almost the same as the way FPS games are configured these days. The only thing missing, obviously because it wasn't in the original game controls, is look up/down on the right stick. So I can circle strafe now! Also have one of the buttons on my gamepad as a save state button. I've got much further in the game than I ever did when playing it on original hardware.
I finished AvP back in the day, as all three characters. It was a good game for the time, and being a huge Alien and Predator fan, it was right up my ally. I think if AvP had not existed, I'd have felt royally ripped off by the Jag.

Interesting watching what BigPemu developer Rich Whitehouse is doing with the emu. He has made AvsP playable with mouse. Has added AvsP multiplayer (!). Has added analogue steering, native resolution, and custom sky texture backgrounds for Checkered Flag.
Hi Chris, awesome video, the game looks brilliant. I was sorry to see you leave TWIR, the video message from Barbarian/Wolf was legendary, but I am pleased that you now have more time to do what you want to do, like playing great Jaguar games.
😂😂 don't forget, Wolf will be watching you manipulating. I have a Jaguar but I've never switched it on. I keep meaning to incorporate it into my set up.
I was using a Blue Yetti for the Podcast but I dont recommend them. Seems to cut words in it's attempt to filter background noise. If I were to do it again, I'd look into a normal audio mic, rather than a fancy pants over priced modern USB solution. Software gatekeeping annoys me.
Why on earth wouldn't we buy a game just because it's rubbish 🤪🤣. No history with the jaguar at all, this looked quite decent though, great 3d arcade robot shooty thing.

Yep. I've since discovered you get more sound FX if you turn the music off. Once again dispelling the crazy recent myth that ONLY the Amiga made this sacrifice.
Sounds like an excellent price considering the condition. I actually remember one of my carts having a torn inner on first opening so maybe that was a common occurrence? First Mech game I ever owned was Krazy Ivan on the PS1. Last Mech game I ever owned was Krazy Ivan on the PS1. That game put me off the whole Mech genre and the magazines had made it look so cool at the time. Wolfenstein was a good Jaguar game as was Syndicate. In fact I think they were my favourite versions of the titles. Music sounds good… I never really paid much attention to the sound capabilities of the Jaguar but that sounded ok.
Yeah pleased with the price. Wolf was good on the Jag, but it was an old game by then, and my PC played the DOS version fine so wasn't tempted. Played it in the shop though.
@@005AGIMA I played it on both and I still put it on all my PCs (alongside the original Doom). I just loved the concept of Wolfenstein. Still playing New Colossus today which has the original Wolfenstein 3D on an arcade machine within it… So I played it on there too. 🙂
@@herdarkshadow834 not played that one. Played New order which was good except too many cut scenes for my liking, and all the mini missions in the hideout were annoying.
@@005AGIMA lol yep mine stand up on display, i dont run them on thier end, the ps2 was known for scratching disks as was the 360 if it was on its end, a dvd/cd drive was never meant to operate that way, sorry if i annoyed you
