Kyuss just works with Josh. He was the mastermind of Kyuss.
Bit he’s not done as many goods songs since Kyuss, so the others played a big part, especially Reeder.

Dude Brant was also one of the masterminds behind Kyuss.
It was just a perfect match at the time, they all contributed to the magic. If only we could go back in time to witness this first hand.
Kyuss wouldn't have been anything without Brant. In fact Kyuss has no soul without Brant. Josh can suck a fat one.
I was at this show on Friday, March 4th, 1994. The club - Rhythm & Brews - was owned by Boomer Lalli, the Palm Desert legend & leader of Across The River & several other bands from that area. Anyway, during my first semester at Arizona State I got lucky & met a girl in my dorm from Palm Desert. And when she found out I was a huge Kyuss fan (remember, back then (1993) there weren’t many outside of the California desert that even knew who they were), she told me she actually went to high school with Josh, Brant & John (Scott was a few years older, I believe). She actually ended up getting me a tape dub of Sky Valley (the entire record, save the Across The River cover of “N.O.” ) several months before it was released🤯 & she also got me on the guest list for this show at Mario’s bar. Needless to say… fucking🤘!
So, of course it ended up being a great show by one of the most influential rock bands of that decade. And no, that’s not hyperbole. All that said, with all due respect to Fredo (especially his great work in ATR & Yawning Man), IMO the band just wasn’t quite the same without Brant on drums. Pero todas las cosas buenas deben llegar a su fin.

I would have to agree. Again, all respect to Alfredo, his style is just a bit too "Shuffle-Like" for a band like Kyuss. His fills also seem like carbon copies over and over again. His work with the other bands from that area was great though.

Saw Kyuss opened for Dinosaur Jr in 94 and I didn't know at the time who they were. Blew me away

Wish Josh would get back with Kyuss and go back to just playing sick ass guitar and leave the singing to John. This line up has a charm that QOTSA can't capture.
Also, I dug Brant but I think Alfredo does such a great job controlling the rhythm.

@@P747 You may be right. Brant cut his hair off before he quit Kyuss, which is why I thought it was him. But when I watched again, it does look like a leaner Fredo.
@@P747 upon evaluation from experts (ie. someone who was actually at the show) it is indeed Alfredo. Also, as I am getting older, I quite possibly need glasses. Lol
I can utterly say this one here is Alfredo by the way of his playing and his hair shape.

You really don't need a tech for that. Tom Morello used to do the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's just them being edgy. Anyone can cut a guitar string
