I met up with a Scottish family who is living in London at Fenway Park in Boston and I had to come back to this video to add another comment. I am a Boston Redsox fan and routinely go to Fenway Park to see the games. It was this family's first baseball game. They were vacationing in the USA. What a blast my sister and I had with them! It was like they were family as we explained the game, laughed and cheered together. They enjoyed the traditional songs and activities. It was fun for all of us.
That’s was cool that you ran into a subscriber and included him in your video. It just goes to show that you never what kind of celebrity you are gonna run into in LA.
Each team plays 162 games and 81 are home games. 55,000 seats and 81 games means that its super accessible for fans. I dont love baseball but i love a day at the park with friends during the summer. Very fun and doable activity
minor league games are also pretty good. cheap tickets and future stars. I used to love going to the paw sox games, only got to see the sea dogs play once but that was alright as well.
so true, Yankees fan here and the biggest thrill is walking into 3 Yankee Stadiums in my life, but nothing in my life will ever compare to my first game in the original CAVERNOUS Yankee Stadium. The surroundings/energy/players... it's an experience of a lifetime.
@@slicked9778also major leaguers will rehab at the minor league teams to come back from injuries. So you can go see them when that happens and a lot of times they'll sign autographs after the games.
Also my local minor league team opens the gates at the start of the eighth inning so you can just walk in and they have a firework show after almost all the games during the summer.
Also I used to work at one of the higher end restaurants in my town and there were quite a few times where after the game the major leaguer rehabbing would take the whole team out and buy them nice dinners.
Regular season baseball is a pretty relaxed time at the park. Playoff baseball is super intense though! Nothing like it.
Last year (2023), 3.84 million people went to a Dodgers game. Other teams who saw over 3 million attendees were the Yankees, Padres, Braves, Cardinals, Phillies, Astros, and Blue Jays.
4:08 - It's always good to have a little bit of hot dog along with your meal of ketchup.
That’s a no no in Chicago unless it’s for your child.✌️
I don't really follow baseball but I love attending live games. It's usually just a friendly, family atmosphere with crowd participation. So much fun!
It's the right summer sport. It's mostly slow paced punctuated by moments of excitement so you don't have to focus in the heat and humidity. The foods are basically backyard grill stuff.
It's hanging out during the summer.
Baseball was the first love of my life. There's nothing like live baseball. The crack of the bat, the snap of the glove. It doesn't come through on TV. I feel that way about most sports, but I think baseball is the most extreme case, you need to hear the sounds, smell the grass. It makes it so much more real.
Archie is the cutest little tike.. hope you all have a wonderful time visiting us ...
I don't think I would have taken him to a baseball game. There long and noisy, I hope he survived alright!
You have a wonderful family, God bless you!
Oh my goodness little Archie is beyond precious 🥰!!! Happy Father’s Day!! Hope you’re having a wonderful time here!!! Much ❤️!!!
The first game is always a cherished memory. The feeling when you get your first glimpse of the field...I still think back to my time seeing both old and new Yankee Stadium. The first time is almost spiritual. Sadly, the Dodgers have suddenly been derailed with injuries. Yesterday Yamamoto had an arm issue and a little while ago Mookie Betts broke his hand. Just brutal. I don't wish/celebrate injuries for any team.
Yep I went to My first Padres game years ago an it was great.
Big baseball fan. One of the best things is there is no game clock, so it truly is not “Over ‘till it’s over.” The game is always in doubt until the final pitch. Relaxing.
What a beautiful little boy you have! ❤️ Not sure which one of you he favors more.
Happy Father's Day James . That is such a sweet little boy you've got there.
You picked the best stadium for your first game! I've been to many stadiums and even though Dodger Stadium is old it still feels new and is set in a great location with views of the San Gabriel Mountains. It doesn't have all the fancy amenities like newer stadiums, but when the weather is nice ( which is often in LA) Dodger Stadium literally shines!
Baseball is my passion. There's just nothing like taking in a game at the ballpark. I'm glad you got to experience it even if you missed some of the important parts of the experience (national anthem!).
There is nothing better or more American than a baseball game! And hotdogs. Lol
I am jealous that you got to go to a Dodgers game and nice seats, I have been a Dodger fan my entire life well since the late 70s. I am from North Carolina and a lefty and always have been a 1st baseman (and Outfielder) and my mom bought me my 1st real glove that was a Steve Garvey glove and I have been a Dodger's fan ever since
You know us southpaws are going to take over some day 😅 my family is from nc too
Glad you all had fun! Sorry about the traffic. No matter what stadium you drive to, a lot of highway traffic when exiting towards any stadium in the US is just very normal.
Yep here in San Diego though the traffic going towards Petco Park Park on the North side isn't bad but it's the south bound side that it's Bad.
Here are the tolls for tonight's game
For the Washington Nationals 2 runs on 6 hits no errors
For your Dodgers 6 runs on 13 and no errors .
Thank you for adding me to your video. I hope you can come back to Dodger Stadium again
thanks joe - I was wondering (PS - still upset about the peanut thrower not being allowed.. that was part of the game!!)
Very cool you were able to meet them all. And for helping them with info. Very nice.
What a good dude.
You’re a good man Joe! One that makes going to a game even better. Come to Comiskey Park. They can use your smile and courtesy. ✌️
That’s the cutest baby!! And Happy Fathers Day!🤗❤️🐝
LOL at the high scores they all guessed.
Those were decent seats. A slightly strange viewing angle, but pretty close. But also a VERY good place to catch a ball from.
90% of the major leage cities are easy in an easy out, Los Angeles is one of the most crowded cities.
I don't care much for games on TV, but attending in person is always a win. The atmosphere is always excellent.
My first major league game was at Dodger Stadium (1963).
Archie is a VERY happy baby, especially just waking up from a nap to Dodger stadium
Archie's got a million dollar smile! What a little charmer.....
Real nice seats, guys!!! Do what you want for food at the game. It's all new and the experience is the thing. For a real cool experience see if you can find a minor league game to go to. The players tend to try harder IMO.
I was so happy to see you put ketchup on that hot dog. And I loved Millie's comment that the ketchup was good.
I do understand being tired and all but you left before the 7th inning stretch. Aw man you would have loved it!
Baseball is a game of endurance
Baseball games are longggg and boring for those who don’t love the game lol i understand why they left
Dodgers? Boo! Go Padres! 😂😂😅
Anyway glad y'all had a ball (game) one of the main American experiences 🇬🇧⚾️
I go to Dodger games a few times a year. That's my team. Once you get to know the basics of the game, it's a blast. It's one of the most beautiful ballparks. Glad yall got to go to a game...Go Dodgers ⚾️
Great video! Glad you had a good time at the game. ❤
Great thing about LA games, hardly any rain delays. 😊
Yep only two delays this season for Rain.
I love Dodger Stadium at Chavez Ravine and I always enjoy a game there. Fun times, great memories. Glad you went. Too bad you didn’t stay for the 7th Inning Stretch and sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Oh well next time.
Happy Father’s Day. 🎉
The best part of the game. 7th inning stretch.
Yes, our traffic is unbearable during rush hour. Best time to travel on most freeways is after noonish or after 8pm. LFG DODGERS!!⚾Dodgerblue!
Archie is such a good baby :) Happy Father's Day!
The Dodgers are my Dad's team. My Dad is 85, and has been a Dodgers fan since he was a kid when they played in Brooklyn. We were born and raised in Pennsylvania and we stiil live in PA. I'm a Phillies fan, but would love to take my Dad to see the Dodgers play in Dodger Stadium. He has seen them play, just never in LA.
Great guy (Joe the Usher) . I only get to Pirates Minor league games (Altoona Curve) because its right by my house. Glad you enjoyed American baseball in person.
Archie's getting so big. He looks just like Millie. He's beautiful. Enjoy your time in the States.
Glad you were able to experience the atmosphere of a baseball game and that you had a fun time!
Awesome video guys! I hope James is better and over his covid! Cheers! Please happy father's day weekend. Hope you all are doing great- James, Millie, Archie, Victoria and Lauren!
Stop the covi.d nonsense.
Happy Father's Day, James. So happy you still have content left from your US trip.
@TheBeesleys99 I am applying for the job to be the 'Beesley's American food escort' so you can properly eat American food and VERY greatly reduce your comment section of people yelling "YOU GUYS ARE NOT DOING IT RIGHT, YOU NEED TO DO IT THIS WAY AND/OR THAT WAY!!!!!"
Of course, those people could just STFU, stop being trolling karens, and just enjoy the Beesley’s great videos, but I guess that would just be too simple. You’re hired if you promise to smack around at least a few karens per video. Not for the Beesleys, who seem to take those comments in stride, but for the rest of us who cringe whenever we see that kind of nonsense. 😊
@@MarkL1968 You 2 need to get a room.
I don't think they need another stalker. MarkL is bad enough.
@@edwardmclaughlin719 stalker? Nah, I just dislikes me some trolls like you regardless of whose comment feed they wind up on whether it be the Beesleys, or anyone else. People like you make it their mission to bring down somebody else’s good time.
@@MarkL1968 I have literally stopped watching the ones where they join the massive hoards of "UA-cam sensations" eating chain fast food. Ball park food is different. But imagine how much more interesting it would be to see what they think of non-corporatized food from family run, or at least locally run, "diners, drive-in and dives".
Most runs ever scored in a modern MLB game was 30. Extremely rare. Only 19 games with a team scoring 25 or more in all of modern league history since 1901.
Texas Rangers 30, Baltimore Orioles 3; Aug. 22, 2007
In 1979 I was at a Cubs/ Phillies game that was 23-22.
@@TheRagratus
You saw history, the only regular-season games in which both MLB teams scored more than 20 runs came between the same two teams and was played in the same ballpark.
Chicago Cubs 26, Philadelphia Phillies 23; Aug. 25, 1922
Philadelphia Phillies 23, Chicago Cubs 22; May 17, 1979
Go Rangers!!!
Yea! Rangers!
Bit of trivia: Ron Washington was the manager of the Rangers when they scored 30 on the Orioles & he was the 3rd base coach for the Braves when they put up 29 on the Marlins.
AWESOME!!! SO GLAD that ya'll GOT TO GO!!! :) HUGS!!
Ha Ha ! It's first pitch, not kicking off wrong game,it's all good happy Father's day.
He didn't get confused; "Kicking off" is also an expression for "getting started"
I grew up going to Dodger games. The memories...
And Happy Father's Day! Your baby is the cutest.
I was born and raised in LA and I've been to at least 50 Dodger games...you had great seats to catch a foul ball!!
Those express lanes on the freeway are a game changer!! They are for cars where you have more than 2 people riding. I took a carload of kids down to Magic Mountain for a school trip. The traffic was horrendous and moving inches. We got to use the fast track lane because we had 5 in the car and we buzzed by everyone! Remember that next time you need to get somewhere and traffic is bad.
You guys are such a cool family. I hope you have all the happiness in the world. Next time you come to the states you should go to a Red Sox game and check out Boston.
If you leave early, most cities have a local radio station that carries the game and it can listen to the rest while you travel.
So glad y'all have enjoyed your visits, we are glad to have you! Such a lovely family & little man Aarchie is adorable!😊
You always want to get there for batting practice.
Glad ya'll got to go and have fun. Went to 2 Major League Baseball games. ⚾️ Braves in Atlanta, and Mets in NY.
...ya'll...😂
Dodger Stadium! Yes. I lived in Burbank for 30 years and always knew when there was a game happening because the 5 Fwy (Interstate Highway 5) was totally clogged at the off-ramp. No matter what happened, you guys got a Dodger Dog. Well worth the trip. Too bad you got the "bleacher" seats.
Sitting in the lower deck even that far out, you want to watch every pitch. If a line drive comes your way, you will want to protect Archie rather than try to catch a ball. Baseball can be an interesting game if you follow the stats. Some games can be very boring.
They were behind protective netting, you can see the lines at 6:00. They would just have to look out for a foul ball.
Yes it's always good to pay attention at a baseball, hockey and even basketball regardless of netting or glass shield. Even at a basketball game if close to the court, one never knows if a giant jumps over or on y. 😅
Happy Father's day.....there's no "kick off" bubba, thats football. Hahahahahaaaa..
😂😂😂
There will also be a checkered flag for when the baseball is over. Heh
there's no 'nil' either
I’ve been to all of the historic ballparks except Dodger Stadium. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
Regular season baseball is perfect to go chill with the homies and maybe meet some new people. Playoff baseball is tension and anxiety with every pitch. Both are amazing in their own ways.
I thought that was cheese James was putting on the hot dog. That was A LOT of mustard!
Baby Archie is adorable!
Growing up in the 70's baseball was a much more family-friendly environment than it is now. Lots of daytime games and I remember going to Shea Stadium and paying only $1.50 for the nosebleed seats. Peanuts were only 50 cents and hot dogs were a buck. Used to go at least a dozen times a year. When they built Citi Field, I remember finding out that the cheapest seats were $95. Don't think many middle class families could afford to take their kids to more than one or two games a year now.
Well back in the 70's many stadiums didn't have lights which was a Big reason why. Now a lot teams have tried to have earlier start times though and I think Wednesday and Sunday games have the earlier start times currently.
@@runrafarunthebestintheworld The Wed and Sun daytime games are nothing new. Those were the days I would go to see the Mets when I was in HS in the 70's. While I think that they always sold beer, I don't think it became a real problem until the 80's. I remember one game I went to with some co-workers during the Mets 86 Championship season and several fights broke out between drunk fans. I think it was around that time that stadiums stopped selling beer in the 7th inning. But to me the biggest problem with Baseball attracting young fans is the sheer cost of the tickets now - at least the cost in the big cities. Dunno if the tickets in the smaller cities have ramped up as much as they did in NYC but the main reason why I became a Mets fan in the 70's was the fact that I could afford to go see a game with my firends.
0:52 I live in Texas now but was born in LA and always loved the Downtown LA skyline from Dodgers stadium.
I was so happy to see you guys visiting my old stomping ground Dodger Stadium! I often went to games back in the 1970’s and 1980’s before moving out of state. My favorite seats are what we called the nose bleed seats - the ones way above home plate. The view of the game is great up there, and the seats are cheaper. I think Dodger Stadium is the third oldest stadium in Major League Baseball, which began hosting games in 1962. It has held up very well over the years and is still a beautiful ball park.
Awesome. The expensive, field level seats behind your team’s dugout, or home plate, are really cool, but I like those nosebleed seats too. And Dodger Stadium _is_ the 3rd oldest, behind only Fenway & Wrigley, of course.
Thanks for visiting Dodger Stadium. I was just a kid in 1962 when Chavez Ravine, as it was called then, first opened. It great to see the old ball park is still rocking. I now live in the Boston area. Hopefully you'll come here so you can get to visit a real-classic ballpark: Fenway Park. And if you need help finding places to eat, let me know. You guys are great!!!
It wasn’t called Chavez Ravine! There were 3 communities Bishop, La Loma, Palo Verde
God bless this family, truly a more decent type folk than many and their videos are all enjoyable.
Thank you for sharing your joy with us!!
Nice one looking out for them Joseph!
Shout out to Joe with the positive energy. God bless
This poor mama needs an Ergobaby carrier! My back is aching from watching her carry that sweet baby in her arms the whole time on that looooong walk . But I'm glad y'all enjoyed the game. Baseball is only fun to watch in person, IMO.
Loved this video! Archie did so great! 👍
It was nostalgic seeing you in my old backyard. Southern California horn and raised. Moved away for work in '95. My first baseball game ever was going with my dad and big brother to a Dodgers/Yankees World Series 1977. I was hooked immediately.
Because there's so many games ticket prices for baseball are reasonable. NFL only has 16 games and then the play offs. So tickets cost a lot.
Seventeen games
I totally understand the Archie comes first, but I wish you had been able to experience the 7th inning stretch. After the top of the 7th inning, before the home team comes to bat, everyone stands and stretches and since 9/11, everyone sings God Bless America. I am glad that you had a good time. Some of the most recognizable baseball teams are the Dodgers, Giants, Red Sox, Yankees, Cardinals, and Cubs. My team, the Cardinals have not been doing really well for a few years.
Phillies best team hands down
Phillies are the oldest, same named, same city team in all of sports. They also look way better in red than the Cardinals.
Ah, the April 16th game.
5:23
Excellent point.
I see the games on TV and notice the empty seats. Most of those seats are empty because the fans are getting food or something.
Yay! You got to go see such a historic franchise with the best stadium in the US!! ahaha (I'm a Dodgers fan, can't you tell?!). So glad you enjoyed yourselves!
Yankee stadium is the best f LA
King Hawaiian right behind yall!!!!! I love Dodgers games nostalgia as a kid but its a really really old stadium..
The part of your comments about traffic getting to Dodger stadium keep track leaving the stadium. Worst I’ve seen was, I moved 15’ in one hour. It took us 2.5 hours to get on the freeway
Happy Father’s Day James! Enjoy!!!
The Beesleys are so cute! Precious family! Mom and dad needs a swaddle wrap so he can swaddle in the wrap and have their hands free! Loved seeing this family! Thanks Lewis, for sharing them,, I love your videos ❤
Happy Father's Day James!!
Indeed…happy Father’s Day to James!
Yes! Happy Father's Day to James and all Dad's.
Every major US City has traffic woes. But usually, if you talk to the locals, they will tell you what rhythm the traffic follows, and you learn when to travel and when not to.
I've been to countless games there but my favorite time was in 1998 on Halloween when I went to see the band KISS on The Psycho Circus tour
I was at a game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Colorado Rockies within the last couple of weeks. The seats we had were in one of the Club Sections, where you had your own concession stands and bathrooms and a place inside to sit and eat your food at tables before going to your seats and watching the game. The Cardinals ended up winning 8-5. It was my first time sitting in the Club Seats and it was a very good experience.
Cant believe how big the baby is seens like yesterday you guys found out you was having a baby
Millie's a team player, carrying Archie that far. Strong women!
There's a free (with a game ticket) direct shuttle from Union Station! Union Station has mission revival style architecture and is worth visiting for that alone and Olvera Street is directly across the street. Olvera Street is a small pedestrian street leading off of the central plaza of the original Pueblo of Los Angeles, founded in 1781. Lined with eateries and shops, it leads from the plaza to Cesar Chavez Avenue and contains many of the oldest buildings in Los Angeles.
Across the street from the Union station is home of the original French Dip sandwich.😉
Union Station has been used in tons of movies and TV shows over the decades.
@@JoshuaMartian-go3tm Cole's would argue with that statement.
@@ramonalfaro3252 Like 10 years ago or so, the Thrillist hired Jackson Landers, a journalist and science writer who does research for stuff like this and he found that Phipps's Original had not only oral history, but documentation, firsthand interviews and newspaper print that supports Phillipe's claim to have originated the French Dip sandwich.
Whereas Coles only had oral history that was spotty, passed down from owner-to-owner with no firsthand account and no documentation to prove their claim. Nothing in newspapers to prove that Coles started the sandwich 10 years prior. The original owner of Philippe Mathieu was also a French immigrant, and the French Dip name was a fashion term used in France before Phillippe immigrated to the U.S. Cole was a German immigrant.
@@JoshuaMartian-go3tm I've heard that, but I prefer Cole's either way.
Dodger Stadium and Dodgers vs Reds was the first game I got to see MLB when I was 10 years old and I've been a Dodgers fan ever since. Congrats on getting to your first game!
my first game - dodger stadium.. Drisdale vs Marichal
My first and only Dodger Stadium game was also the Dodgers and Reds in 1980. I was visiting my friend who moved to Anaheim. I was a Reds fans back then, but now I'm a Cubs fan. My first baseball game was the Reds/Astros in the mid-70s.
FYI - Yesterday in the Dodgers HISTORICAL comeback win (1929) the WINNING pitcher ended up being our newest call up from the minor leagues for his first ever major league game, his name is Michael Petersen and he is the FIRST EVER U.K. born player to put on a Dodger uniform, and stands 6'7" throws up to 97mph and seems like a real nice guy. Short list of guys called up that get a win in their first game!
1929 isnt a real time, calm down. time started after we won WW2 everything else is as real as the bible
There was a game in 1922 where the Cubs won 26-23. in 2007, The Texas Rangers scored the most runs in a modern MLB game when they beat the Baltimore Orioles 30-3 on August 22, 2007.
Piece of advice for travel. Get a Tide stain stick. It will hep with sttains on clothing
Incredible seats guys! I’m surprised you didn’t run into more channel fans. I hope both of you and the family get to come back to the States soon! There are a bunch of viewers who would love to have a few “Meet and Greets” and have the pleasure of taking you on local tours and of course out to lunch or dinner at some of the great local restaurants. A special hug to Archie!
(I’m going to have to lookup the final score of that came.. Sorry, a Texas Rangers fan here!)
I don't watch sports but happy to see you did something other than eat in the US. 😂
Going to any game traffic is bad. That is one good reason for tailgate parties in parking lot before and after games.
Played baseball for 12 years, great game.
Let’s Go Dodgers!!!
Yes getting in and out of Dodger Stadium can be a nightmare, much worse than Angels Stadium and it doesn't really lend itself to tailgating like Angel Stadium. Last time I went to a Dodgers game, my friends mom gave us tickets from her company and we were right behind home plate, there was no one in front of us. Turned around in our seats and Pat Sajak was sitting behind us and just behind him was the actor Ron Pearlman.
I am THRILLED you were able to visit the US and enjoyed your first game. Keep exploring. The opportunities for fun and learning are endless. Be safe and best wishes.
I was not much older than Archie when my dad took me to my first ball game. I’m from Cleveland, so our home team was the Indians, now the Guardians. He just kept taking me to games so by the time I was six I knew how to keep score on a scorecard. We always sat in the bleachers, which was pretty funny since we were both very light skinned. My mom made me wear a large bonnet. Some of my best memories of Cleveland are from the old municipal stadium, which sat 80,000. It has long since been torn down. I am 80 years old so when I started going to games, the Indians were in their prime - late ‘40s up to about ‘56. I got to see all the great ones, and it was something I got to do with my daddy, just the two of us.😊
Pfft I went to my first ball game in my high school years. 😅
Baseball is pretty great. There's a ton of strategy in pitching and batting that you learn to appreciate if you've played or watched a lot of baseball. Played Football, Baseball, Hockey and Soccer in school and love all of them. Baseball is much less expensive to see games. I can go to 10 MLB games throughout the season for the price of 2 tickets to the NFL or NHL.
That was cool
Happy Father's Day James! 😊
