There is an old saying--Money talks and if they are a serious buyer and not just another tire kicker then a two or even three thousand dollar deposit is very fair. The "problem" with the GT40 rep is that it's a very niche market. The previous seller done well in finding you, you have to either be patient in finding another perfect buyer or losing a bunch of money (I can understand why the latter isn't very palatable lol).
That was me trying to finance the 430. Total bummer for sure, wish I could have put things together more quickly, but I was on vacation, and NGS was on vacation, so it was just logistically tricky. No hard feelings for Dan and team, totally understand business is business. That being said, on the deposit piece, if I had known there was another very serious buyer (all dealerships say there's another buyer once you express interest, I just always assume it's a sales tactic), I likely would have paid the deposit. When I was presented with the option for the 1 week deposit, it was right before Dan was going on vacation for a week, so thought I was safe. Lesson learned on my part for sure. I would have considered a bigger 10k/10% down payment if it was longer than 7 days or if it was refundable. Again, no issues on my end, these things happen. Dan and team were great and I'd happily buy from them if they can find me another F430 with that exact spec, maybe just tan interior 😄. Let me know if that buyer drops out for any reason!

It's weird but I swear every time we get a real solid offer on a car suddenly another buyer pops up. It's so strange. Just happened again on the GT4. We try not to pressure people much as we treat them the way we want to be treated... But we really mean it when we say we have another possible buyer. Haha! If you're still wanting a F430 coupe I would love to be able to find you a good one.
General "rule of thumb" when buying a Ferrari - treat it like a DRUG DEAL. You show up with cash-money - you lay it on the hood of the car, take-it-or-leave-it. Cash makes you a buyer - 'financing' makes you a dreamer.

Cash-Money buyers are in a position to snap-up deals immediately and save bank on finance charges/interest payments. If they need to flip, it's instant liquidity. Borrowers are fools of the Banking system - Dave Ramsey is NOT wrong.

I do think his advice for people with no fiscal responsibility is valid but it’s not blanket advice for everyone. Again it depends on the individuals personal financial situation. For example I’d never cut up my credit cards and never use them again, but I’m also not the guy who maxes them all out and pays the minimum. Occasionally I carry a balance but generally pay them every 28 days. Following Dave Ramseys advice verbatim will destroy your credit, that’s a fact. However his advice for living within your means is Golden.
Just have to say that Dan and Josh are the best. That was my F430. Even with the delays the sale happened fast. Communication was always there and the money came instantly after sale. Top notch! Thanks again boys! G

Vacuum A/C condensate lines from outside ,monthly. If you can get to the drain pan in the inside then put some pan tabs in the tray to keep the mucus from forming.

Over the last few years, companies have changed the meaning of putting a deposit down on something. I’m thinking of Tesla, Rivian and Ford. They take small refundable deposits to get a lot of excitement and then most of them seem to fall through. It makes it difficult for people who use deposits as they were intended to be. If you want it bad enough to make a deposit, the item will be held for an agreed to time frame. It should be understandable that by holding a car you are potentially missing out on another purchaser if the deal falls through.
The Tail of the Dragon is a great meet up place for car enthusiasts. The Cherohala Skyway is nearby with fun sweeping turns and elevation changes. Highly recommend.
Glad to hear you took my advice and are coming to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. You will have a great time, even if you don't get a buyer out of it. Also, it's my home town, so I hope we can meet up and chit chat. I will have my F430 in the Italian Cortile (part of the 2-day car show August 3-4). By the way, that is the actual race weekend. You'll want to stick around for it. I'm sure most, if not all, of the GT40 guys will be there as well.

The GT40 Reunion is really a separate event that is at the beginning of the PVGP week. The PVGP itself is the world's largest free auto racing event, drawing over a half million visitors over the weekend.

I know most folks don't like convertible sportscars. But Ferrari just did it right, specifically the 360s and 430s. How the glass is drapped flat across the engine bay, so beautiful.

If that GT40 is on your floor plan line, I imagine the bank is going to request you start amortizing that car and eventually pay it off, you can't evergreen a car on a floor plan. Omni-Lights produces great strip lighting. Very powerful and well made.
I'm really curious why Ferrari hasn't been sued by buyers or other CAR CLUB class action lawsuits, hurting the right to buy a car or the freedom to customize a vehicle, etc. The Fair Trading Commission doesn’t care?
