Man in blue in a blue room, not drumming blue
that beginning fill was ridiculous. holy lord
You didn’t hear it’s comeback at 2:08-10?? It’s even better the second time…
2:10 onwards got me wiggling
damn your pocket is crazy. Such a vibe!
Those were some blazing offbeat triplets coupled with that consequent transition back into the main groove through the snare
1:30
polyrhythms, not off beat
@@davidm5415 The hi-hat triplets are certainly not on the beat
Polyrhythmia is just a fancy word for off-beat ending up on-beat...
Natural swing for days!!!
when you get the notion
get da butt in motion.
One of my favorite things about your videos is the little effects added to your playing! It really elevates it 🔥
Glad you enjoy it!
Those tom rolls... just.. aaaaarrghh!! 🤘🏻
So sweet! You keep outdoing yourself! It like if a robot was grooving and rapping and dancing
TRICKY....
Dripping with soul
Tasty triplet groove sampler plate! Seconds please.💯👌
An absolute stunner!
Nice job Max, if that was a piece of paper on your snare drum you could write notes on it when you go too learn songs LOL, nice job loved it!!!🤘🤘
So groovy Max. I slow you down to .75 and means that I can really get the hang of it. Snare throw off? 👏✌️
ugh, so heavily swung I'm sideways listening to it :P thanks as always for sharing!
I could listen to your playing all day! Just love your groove!
Wow, thank you!
Truly impressive hihat work, definitely gonna incorporate those chops into my own playing, keep up the great work!
King Max strikes again. Great.
Forget about the excuse "My dog ate my homework"...
Now it's: "The Gogo Beat ate my homework".

A thing I'd like you to try (though I don't know if it makes sense with youtube compression, honestly) is defined threshhold, low gate, high peak-to-RMS settings. Like, drum with your fingers to make it sound like sticks, while all the shuffling noises around the actual beat makes for the off beat sound. Does this make sense..?
Sounding great, have you added a flanger to the mix?
Yes I have
I know a good bit of your sound is the mixing, but do you have any tuning tips?
Actually most of the sound is from the tuning... the mixing on this one is very minimal. Just practice tuning.... take the drumheads off and put them back on again and try to get a sound you like ... experiment. It's hard to explain in a comment.
I am releasing a video focused on tuning and mixing and muffling very soon ... hopefully before Christmas :)
@@dimsunk Aside from tuning, two things stand out for me (studio tech) : Flanger and reverb top gate. The last one cuts off the skinny noise as the tone dies out.
Can you post this raw?
what microphones do u use?
I've added them in the description underneath the video
Great playing! Great feel!!
