      @@gzbg21 BTC isn’t in any of the portfolios so Idk how that’s relevant. Who knows, she could’ve bought AMZN at those levels and sold them for a loss decades ago. What matters is what’s in the current funds and what levels she bought those at. All but one of the funds are down 70%+ from their highs. And the other one is down 40%+. Just like her you’re picking and choosing 2-3 assets that have done well, but not considering the other 70 assets that have performed 2x as worse as the market.

    Problem with Cathie Wood is she mixes “forecast” with the “future”, it’s not easy to predict the future regardless how hard your work. She talks as if there is 100% probability that her modeling will be proven to be right, a little humility in accepting the possibility of your potentially being wrong would be helpful to the non-professional investors in her fund. Rightly or wrongly, her investment style is “Growth regardless of profitability or valuation”. Sometimes it works out, and sometimes it doesn’t as some “growth” turns out to be BS and is never innovative or profitable. Her inaccurate linking of “non profitability” to “innovation” is a disservice to her investors.

      You realize a lot of the 'analyst' or 'money manager' interviews and airtime in major economic media channels are being payed for by their protagonists.... directly or indirectly (ad spending of affiliates...). Wood, Lee, Ives etc, pushing their firms agendas, hunting for new inflows to their AUM. Thaks to constant medialization, Wood has had far less outflows, that the underperformance of her ETFs would suggest. She's still making shit ton of money, while her mostly 'mom'n'pop' investors suffered unrecoverable losses...

    Cathie Wood is very clear about who she is, what she believes, how she invests. If you don't like it, don't invest in her fund. But I suspect those who are her greatest critics don't do that anyway. They just get their own sense of worth by kicking someone when they're down. No guesses for where they're going to end up in life.

      Not that simple. She is a fund manager. She manages other people's money for a fat fee. When she makes outlandish claims about future profits or lack of risk in public, it can, it should, and it most likely will be grounds for suing her after people lose their money after having listened to her. Her investors go broke while she skims off the top and stays mostly unaffected.
      Not only that, but the fact that objective reality is so against her views. Which is the reason for all the arguments. She almost seems unattached to reality on her investment views. Putting money in garbage companies that have failing business models, poor management, no profit or even revenue in some cases, at sky high valuations while saying valuations don't matter is absurd. She is an irrational investor who is getting an excessive amount of airtime by building castles in the sky about companies she claims are the innovation of the century. We're just now in the first phase of those castles in the sky being demolished and she is still sticking on to her belief in the face of mounting evidence against it.

      @viirusiiseli 2 роки тому

      @@johngrear6506 You can't see the future but you can make educated guesses with historical basis and what is reasonably possible in general. Exponential growth to the tune that crypto maximalists and tech junkies like Cathie Wood expect, is simply not possible. For one, she was claiming for GDP growth of 50% due to AI development. Raoul Pal claims that we're also entering an exponential age and YOLO'd into crypto. I think simple realism and educated reasoning will already tell you it's not true. Yes, technological advances will likely be great. Yes, we will continue to see increased productivity due to innovation. Yes, there will be companies with great technological advances that grow fast. Yes, blockchain will be useful in the future.
      The difference is whether you take those things and build castles in the sky with them, or if you see that tech, crypto, growth have been in a bubble and will crash similar to the dotcom bubble. Once the crash part is done with, we can finally begin a reasonably steady growth period without the irrational expectations that always accompany the nascent phase of new technological eras.

    She got TSLA and BTC right doesnt mean she will be right on her other outlandish claims. Moreover, people should remind her that even for TSLA according to her model, the price appreciation will be because of Robotaxis. According to her "research" TSLA should have been churning out millions via its Robotaxi business. So even there she got lucky that she made money despite being wrong.
    She calims that her "Analysts" are super smart, fresh out of college PhDs. How many millionaire PhDs have you seen who made their fortune because of they were able to bet on the stock market using their subject matter expertise? Stock investing is far more than just being subject matter experts. Do they know valuations, cash flows? How come she never talks about valuations?

    She heard Tony Seba presentation on disruptive innovation and believes it. So do the rest of us who heard it. Innovation is coming and it will disrupt old industries in an accelerating fashion. Sadly, she doesn't have any financial analysts who can identify which ones will cashflow (or already do). she got lucky on Tesla betting on robotaxi. She got lucky that Elon gets the need for cashflow and is kiling it on cashflow. Everything else she has is a cash consuming disaster. IF only she had spent some of those 10s of millions of fees on financial analysts instead of narrative reading kids who have no idea. Too bad. Wasted opportunity for her, her investors and the human race. If she had invested it wisely, it could have propelled us incredibly. Instead, she helped bring on the coming financial crisis.

      Thinking small scale, if you can produce sec driving cars, then you start getting self driving trucks which means less cost in shipping. If you produce more shipping for a cheaper cost food goes down. Gas prices go down because of the shift to electric all kinds of changes

    • @RaviSingh-xo2cx
      @RaviSingh-xo2cx 2 роки тому

      @@robertoramirez1069 agreed with your line of thinking. But this is very conceptual. Even if we assume that 25% of your food cost is transportation and it could be cut to half with self driving vehicles, it will just lower the overall price by 12.5%. And that will not be realized till logistics companies recover initial investment on self driving trucks for 5-10 years. And self driving trucks will not be a reality for next 5-7 years. So that cost saving will not happen for next 15-20 years. And that by no means is deflation she is touting.
