Nobody can time the market, buy and hold for a decade, as long as topline and bottom line is stable, and debt is under control you should be good.

This! Her investment philosophy is maxing out on risky growth stocks, but that doesnt work when loan conditions tighten. She talks a lot about the future and how people just dont understand the potential of these companies.... thats all well and good, but the market is thinking short term now. Companies need to make profit THIS YEAR, not in five years....

why,she pubically stated that a big correction is coming ! 50-60% correction is just the nature of the business , one cannot expect higher α without tolerating risk.
You forget the market is cyclical. And historically always rising. Never in its history has an index fallen and not recovered. If one has equity, and holding power, the market will be up in 400 days.
She got all excited that her funds just so happened to outperform the S&P for a week or two. No sooner did she mention this than ARKK was back to falling precipitously. Wood couldn't call the NY market close at 4:01pm. She should stop this both because it both destroys her credibility as a market timer and it looks desperate.

Great video and some nice tips! This is a scary time for new investors but the best thing you can do is not to make decisions based on emotions. This could actually be a good time to buy more of your crypto using dollar-cost averaging(DCA). Wealth is created during bear markets, not bull markets. I buy and just trade long term more than ever, I have made over 4.5 btc from day trading with Tony Gregory in few weeks this is one of the best medium to backup your assets incase it goes further bearish.

So her own fund is down 60-70 from December….why as a 67 year old woman invest 100% in growth stocks? That concerns me that she is that aggressive without thinking about her age.
That’s investing 101-looking at age, tolerance, and more so you can diversify.
TDOC, ZM, ROKU…will they at least go to her average? They will need to 5X this year.
She said 5 years 2-3 years ago. Now that 5 years starts now every time she speaks like today. That’s 8 years time horizon she is asking from 2017. And now 2030 is what she preaches. 2017 to 2030 is 13 years.
She is not investing for herself. So age don’t matter. Ask Warren Buffet. She is the manager of the ETF.
She collects a 0.75% fee from those who invest in her ETFs. She does not need to be concerned with how she invests herself.

I like Cathie Wood and her underlying mega themes are valid, but the time horizon is very difficult to ascertain. The only one she has got right is Tesla and it’s the only one i hear about time and time again. That can’t be your only claim to glory. My personal view is that a max 5% of your portfolio should go in ARKK. If it pays dividends you will do very well, and if it doesn’t, your downside is less brutal

Sounds like Cathies repeating Kurzweil's predictions about the exponential growth of technology.

ARKK has been a fantastic short.
Most "investors" look at the stockmarket as a casino, others as a vehicle to grow money. The casino knows if they can keep you "playing" long enough they will get your money. Investors know it takes time to grow money. Two completely different money philosophies. I like Kathy Woods, Jack Boggle and Warren Buffets philosophies. Peter Lynch, one of the greatest investors of all time, said most people did not prophet or prophet as much as they could have because the bought when prices were high and sold when prices were low. Wow, never heard that before. Keep selling, I'm buying. Thanks for the bargins.

I think cathie know too much about tech but not much about econ. she said 10-year bond rates go 3% means gdp go 3%. this is wrong! this only means nominal gdp go 3%, and gdp as published is real gdp. bond rates go 3% not meaning industry agree with growth story but inflation story. I think this is also why she lost so much money. learn econ!

I really hate listening to repeating the promotional hype of a companies promotional page, which woods seems to regurgitate. Ark lives off of commissions and since people desperately want to believe someone who talks like they know what they are saying, money flows in. A large number of woods companies will go to zero or languish in single digits. There just is a lot of luck. She does not have any proven science, it is marketing. The big winners wont even be on Arks radar until they shoot up and then ark jumps on the bandwagon. Just buy some vanguard etfs funds, have a 10 yr horizon, dont be afraid to go to cash if the world goes crazy, and pick a few stocks where you love the product and the CEO aint a crook. These "experts" are wrong far more often then they are right. Dont underestimate luck, which they hate to admit, but luck is as important as anything else. Buy when everyone is selling if it a good company that has a bad quarter and balance your portfolio from time to time. Retail investing is pretty simple. Buy quality names, give yourself time, dont double down on losers, be dispassionate, dont overtrade, dont cry if you missed the big one as there is always another opportunity, turn off the news, better to do nothing then force a transaction out of fear of missing out.

im not super impressed. she rode the wave of super loose financial conditions, just maxing out in risk. in my opinion.... the sign of a top quality investor is not how they perform with the wind in the back, but how they perform when the going gets tough. Making money when the rate is zero and money are splashing around everywhere is not that hard. She failed to take precautions this year, even though everyone knew the fed was going to tighten. Thats really not too bright....
