I graduated from high school in 79 so I enjoyed all of the 80's. Amazing time to be alive looking back. We didn't realize at the time how really special those years were. They'll never be back but I consider my self very lucky to experience those years!!😁💃♥️
Yes! Dress You Up(especially the live version, of course!!)is my 2nd favorite of hers after Borderline! I'm so glad to have lived my young years in the 80s! Great time to be alive, for real....Michael Jackson.. Prince...Madonna! Superstars, especially in that time!! I'm glad I experienced them then!⭐⭐⭐
This was included in a comedy called “Desperately Seeking Susan”, a film in which Madonna co-starred along with Rosanna Arquette. Definitely entertaining should you want to check her out as an actress. :-)
From Desperately seeking Susan. Madonna was the 'It Girl" for the 80s. It was her, Prince & MJ. Surprisingly they were all born in the same year w/Prince in June & Madonna/MJ in August. She's from MIchigan!!! (hometown Love) .Madonna went out with MJ (platonic), but was briefly involved with Prince. He played on her song "Like A Prayer" uncredited. **React to Live To Tell.
Oh gosh. I remember waking up to some awfully loud and annoying repetitive metal thing in middle school. I never slammed my hand down so angrily on my clock, so fast.
This song was written and produced by Madonna and Stephen Bray. Nowadays artists got like 10 people writing and 4 people producing hits. Back then with Madonna it was just herself and her producer collab.
That's what I always liked about Madonna - her versatility. Her every video and song is like a different story. She always knew how to impress and push boundaries.
Quite possibly, my favorite song by her...at least, in Summer 1985, it was the song that made me love her voice and groove. Of course, "Borderline", "Holiday", and "Lucky Star" got me in to her, which are absolute ties for my favorite Madonna songs with this one. I LOVE that the whole song is basically a repeated sonic loop. It gets started and it never stops.
"Open Your Heart" was the first 'adult' record I ever got. The single. (Before that it was The Mini Pops, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Disney readings.)
Jay, when this came out Madonna was the biggest thing in the music industry. All the girls at school were dressing like her. Even the females teachers were going to clubs on weekends dancing to this track. She was huge and this was the hottest dance track of 85. It sold millions of copies worldwide.
she was everything to young girls in the 80’s, I had posters of Madonna and MJ covered all over my bedroom walls. They were the two biggest icons of that era, no other artists have met that kind of magic since and i don’t think anyone ever could
it makes me so happy to see how much you appreciate Madonna. she’s my absolute fave. and as you’ve seen, she gets a lot of negative comments because she has always been way ahead of her time and pushed a lot of buttons and when you do that, you create very intense responses, both good and bad. you don’t create so many hits decade after decade, with so many distinct and different sounds without being a genius of some sort though. she sees herself as an artist first with being a singer or dancer as coming second. She always made me feel like it was ok to say FU to the world and what it wants and just do my own thing.
When It came out while I was in high school, there was a club/bar at a hotel near my hometown that had speakers along the wall and hanging from the ceiling around the dancefloor with all the lights and strobes plus a huge mirror along the wall. When they played Into the Groove, a projector screen dropped down in front of the mirror, showing the video on the screen. It was such a blast. The nice-looking blond chick I was dancing with was a blast, too.

There will NEVER be a decade like the 80s ever again. 35 years of age and I've finally managed to grow a mullet that I've always wanted (Only good thing from lockdown) It AIN'T getting cut for a long time either. 👌

Madonna had a lot of club hits back in the 80s, but Into The Groove is the quintessential Madonna club track. Even though it didn’t ever charted on the Billboard Hot 100, ITG is Madonna at her very best. Cheers to Stephen Bray for creating this addictive synth bass. ITG is all about that bass! Love it
It didn’t chart on the billboard 100 because her label didn’t release the single in the US . Big mistake, it was # 1 and #2 all over Europe and other places

"True Blue" is a similar groove from her. I like the early Hits of Madonna. By the way: Get into the Groove you can also hear it on the live aid concert (1985), you can hear 100% live this song and pure performence.
One of the best tunes ever. Whenever you need a pick me up, just put this track on to lift your mood. Thos was from my youth and I'm old now but if theres one track to get me on my feet at a wedding doing my Dad Dancing, this is it!
Back then, Madonna was so big, she created a whole look that teenage girls emulated. It was a combination of sweater knit leg warmers and either lace or wool open finger gloves. Messy or feathered wild hair. It was almost a punk/Goth vibe, but super gaudy instead of dark. We just called it "the Madonna look". I feel like she got inspired by the Broadway play Cats...which came out in that era. She is an amazing talent even still today.
The first time I ever heard the song "Sea Of Love" by The Honeydrippers, it was playing when my alarm clock went off for my very first day as a paperboy. It was Saturday, November 17, 1984. :)
I bought all her Singles, Albums, Videos as the were released from 80s onwards, still have them all too. As soon as they came out on CDS & DVDs I bought them all again.😂 I lurve Madonna.💗
Madonna said if she had to pick one song of her own that was her favorite, it was this one. And yes, we jammed to this one in the clubs 😊. Listen to her song called Burning Up from her first album. It will have you moving too 😊
In the 80's(that makes me feel old saying that) :D I waited until everyone went out and played this track(on 7" Vinyl) again and again so LOUD everyone down the street must of heard it :D
This was also a huge hit here in Brazil. "At night i lock the door and no one else can see./'m tired dancing all by myself/tonight i wanna dance with someone else" ...this is a universal youth feeling! It makes the song reach out everybody!
I LOVE MADONNA ,SHE IS VERY SPECIAL, CREATIVE, CLEVER ,BEAUTIUL ,POWERFUL ,INFLUNCIAL, STRONGH, FULL OF LIFE, HAPPY, ENERGY JOYFULL SHE MADE US FEEL SO GOOD WITH HER WONDERFUL SONGS .SHE IS THE REAL QUEEN OF THE POP
From her movie, “Desperately Seeking Susan”. I was 27 at the time and, yes, the song was playing everywhere. I was a soldier stationed in Germany and it played in the clubs there, too. First hit ever by her was “Holiday”. She was on fire back then.
I remember hearing this song on the radio I was 7 years old when this came out I instantly loved it Such a great song I have it in my iTunes and I still jam it 😂 Great reaction ♥️
This one and Lucky Star are probably the biggest nightclub hits she had. Holiday, Vogue, etc, were more for a specific audience, these were classic. Music was a huge nightclub hit as well, I would be asked to play it constantly, and the funny thing was how many people didn't even realize it was her at first.
One of my all time favorite Madonna songs. Who could not get up and dance to this winner. Holiday probably my favorite of all her hits. Madonna is an icon in the music world plus knowing how to market herself as a business woman
This has always been one of my favorites! The clips in the video are from the movie she starred in called Desperately Seeking Susan. Please react to Madonna’s “Sooner or Later” live performance at the Oscars!
This was early Madonna! When she appealed to EVERYONE!!!! You can not imagine how popular she was. She was HUGE!!! Lucky Star,, is another Dance classic!
You need to see her performing live, them you will realize why she is known as the Queen of Pop. Her performances at the VMA are legendary. Her concert tours are a blueprint, she's the Top Touring Solo artist in music history.
This was a bop in Sydney Oz Kings Cross in the 80's in the clubz, she was the Kween of pop back then. Classic vibez. Also in New Zealand she dominated our airwaves such a positive chune.
Love this one so much. Always filled the dancefloor. Love the movie too, "Desperately Seeking Susan" is a great and quirky slice of the 80s that really helped define style, fashion and culture. We were all shopping at the thrift stores for those iconic vintage or trashy chic looks and accessories. "Dress You Up in My Love" and "Burnin Up for Your Love" are also great dance tunes by her from this time
She exploded on the scene, and has been a ⭐ for five decades!! Always reinventing herself. Fabulous influence on music, fashion, feminism and politics. A force of nature.
Living as a 20 something in the 80s was phenomenal. The music in the clubs was the best. Madonna definitely re-created herself with every album and almost with every song and even with every photograph of her she was different. She was really amazing. I don’t really follow her much anymore as she got very political. Great reaction and there are definitely a lot of great songs by her to react to. Love your channel and love your reactions!
As a little girl (born '79) I was obsessed with this era Madonna. OBSESSED. She was everything in my otherwise pathetic life. Listening to the songs now still evokes an array of emotions, good ones, because she was a beacon of light growing up ❤️ Her aesthetic and make up still influences 42 year old me 😊 Lot of people love to hate her, and I laugh at that. We know this is fire
One of my favorite songs of all time, was wondering when you were going to do this song lol, that bassline keyboard is so sick it's actually one of the top 80's songs of all time I'm surprised you've never heard it and btw it's from the movie ''Desperately Seeking Susan''!
On the early part of her career Madonna was everywhere. Once she took off on MTV at the end of 1983 and her song LUCKY STAR caught fire, she exploded to superstar status. That song and look was everywhere you looked, in every club, blasting from the radio, and girls all over mimicked the look. Her follow up album, her MTV performance of LIKE A VIRGIN, and the movie DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN cemented her place in pop culture. One of my favorites is her song MUSIC as she rides around town styled out in a limo and knocking it out after we just found out she in the early stages of being pregnant with her daughter, Loudes. CRAZY FOR YOU is a good record too.
Yes you are correct this was the jam at the clubs. For some reason it doesn’t always show on her list of Top Ten hits, I think because it technically wasn’t released as a single - from the Desperately Seeking Susan movie.
When this came out me and my friend had the cassette and used to sing these whilst back combing out hair and trying to dress like her,i was 13,i feel suddenly old haha..but we were cool af haha
This was released the year I graduated high school.. 1984. Back then you only had to be 18 to get into clubs. Danced and danced to this song many times!!
I loved this version of Madonna, when she first came out, and it was all a great dance vibe. Sadly she was so overplayed that so many of us got sick of it fast lol It's so fun to watch you discover it for the 1st time!😃♥️
Jovaughn wants to dance with Madonna, I want to dance with Jovaughn!! This is probably one of my favorite songs by Madonna. We were all dressing like her and dancing to her music! Loved your reaction!
Alright! 80's Madonna is some of her best. Although I think shes constantly recreating herself and amazing at every stage. One of the music videos I remember seeing the most from Madonna was for the song Open Your Heart. Can you react to that Madonna video?

I love this song! Also “Borderline” and “Papa Don’t Preach”❤️❤️❤️
I remember hearing this song on the radio I was 7 years old when this came out
I instantly loved it
Such a great song I have it in my iTunes and I still jam it 😂
Great reaction ♥️
Flashback 1984 just graduated high school married cleaning the house kicking this Jam😍
My FAVORITE Madonna song ever!
Always danced to this song back in the 80s and all her others too.
Goddess Madonna!! 😊
Other great hits from her, "Rain", "This Use To Be My Playground", "Who's That Girl", "Cherish", "Take A Bow". All are great on the official videos...
That "Desperately Seeking Susan" look was her best. She is megacute here...
Her best Song,...by far!
Brings back great 80s memories. :D
She's been political for a long time... like more than 25 years.
Her new albums are excellent. Madame X , rebel heart so personal and raw a side of Madonna we never saw before
As a little girl (born '79) I was obsessed with this era Madonna.
Madonna has always been the co-producer of her own material. Keep up the good job Jayvee ! Greetings from Europe.
This song is sooo GOOD!!! Lifts your spirits up and makes you want to dance!!!
Try her first ever song 'Everybody' - great 80s club jam
Her first album was played in all the club’s in the 80s, it was her best album 💿
This was released the year I graduated high school.. 1984. Back then you only had to be 18 to get into clubs. Danced and danced to this song many times!!
I loved this version of Madonna, when she first came out, and it was all a great dance vibe. Sadly she was so overplayed that so many of us got sick of it fast lol It's so fun to watch you discover it for the 1st time!😃♥️
Still not sick of her after all these years.
You cannot get sick of this...lol
Debbie over played you say hmmmm I don't hear it ENOUGH LOLLLL JUST LUV DAT JAM MAKES U WANNA PARTY🖒
You're right. My husband couldn't stand her lol.
Only you get sick of it lol
Yes, my dude! You described it perfectly. How you feel listening to this is what being an 80s youth felt like! Also.. Madonna was FINE!
EVERY time this song came on the radio in the 80s..we kids LOST IT!!!!!!!!! we cranked that volume waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up!!!!!!
Jovaughn wants to dance with Madonna, I want to dance with Jovaughn!! This is probably one of my favorite songs by Madonna. We were all dressing like her and dancing to her music! Loved your reaction!
My friend, let me tell you something ; when they played this song on a club there was no room left on the dance floor.
My hands down absolute favorite Madonna song. Perfect pop!
Alright! 80's Madonna is some of her best. Although I think shes constantly recreating herself and amazing at every stage. One of the music videos I remember seeing the most from Madonna was for the song Open Your Heart. Can you react to that Madonna video?
Madonna was one of the first one really using that deep bass blend with that thump beat and rhythm .... sooo MANY of her songs from the 80's are like that and YEAH were blasted where ever u went ..... man... those were the times ;))))))
