Thank you so much for sharing about the sealer that Polly urethane or whatever it is.... There are so many people painting their countertops and they have these horror stories that they wouldn't do it again but I don't see any of them sealing it and that's a big portion of painting a surface because paint is soft indentable and chippable.... It needs to be sealed... I would love to see you paint a stainless steel sink white...is that even possible? You both are adorable❤ thanks so much for sharing⚘
I’ve painted several countertops in my rentals. I generally have to redo them when my renters move. Still a huge savings over new countertops. And they would just destroy those as well.
@@WitchgirlViolet1313 you can get fancy kits with marble or stone flecks. I might tsp that for my own, but for rentals I just use Rustoleum Countertop Coating. $34.98 at my Home Depot. You can spend up to $300 on the fancy kits.
Hello, from Alaska! Getting ready to do my kitchen counters! Yay! So, I went to Lowes today to get my paint and I was speaking with the paint person there and she said not to use Poly for the sealant because of food issues down the road, that it is not safe...etc...And I was thinking that it would be safe because it will have been cured during drying time. I will not be cutting ANYTHING on my counters and no really hot pans or anything like that. What do you all think?
I agree w the paint dept. person. I've painted tile & it came out super - both floors & countertop. I didn't use poly & I'm glad I didn't bc it's easy to do flawless touch ups when needed since it's just paint. So far, it's lasted 15 yrs & just now needs some touch ups so we're doing that this next week. We did 1 coat of primer & 3 color coats to make it look like travertine.
Liz, love your kitchen! What color are your lower cabinets? While you're at it, what white did you use for the uppers? Thanks! Oh, I probably should have read all the comments first...maybe you already answered this question!

Your kitchen looks great. Love the cabinets. Do you have a video on how you updated them?
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve often wondered how it held up especially if you like to cook.

How is it possible not to ever use your counter tops!?? Can I still do this if I have high traffic on mine?
How does it hold up with sitting something hot or warm on top of it. Do you need to sit warm/hot pots on top of something?

Thank you, Joy! The lowers are Coffee Nook by Magnolia, and the uppers I believe are White By Behr- it’s been a while on those so I’m not 100%!
…did you roll or brush the poly on?…
