I've a lot of respect for Marshall Dillon, but he's as foolish in not using Chester's assistance to arrest Gratt as Sheriff Hill had earlier been in not accepting Dillon's offer of assistance. Dillon's a peace officer, not a gunslinger, and whenever necessary, he should use overwhelming force to achieve his objective. His decision to not use appropriately overwhelming force to effect Gratt's arrest in the first instance cost another man his life... 13 Apr 2024
