👍👍👍👍👍
What a flex from Gilles. Truly an outstanding moment that may not be repeated
Not saying it wasn’t awesome, but doesn’t that happen regularly? I feel like I’ve seen lots of rally when they oversteer a hairpin and just go round again since it’s the quickest way to get back in the race
@@AjGalloway95 In Gilles's case, it's a showboating. He's been leading the rally and he put a show, hence why the 360 spin rather than the usual 180 spin to recover from oversteering
The craziest moment in this entire video is that helicopter hovering inches from a cliff face. Madness.
I guess each and everyone involved in the race is a badass😂
Always loved the tarmac events.
Kinda missing Corsica and Germany. Very unforgiving rallies though, especially the Panzerplatte stage, and Co-Drivers would have to become rap gods to keep up with current speeds on Corsica.
It is actually really impressive how much these modern rally cars tank inmpacts, often leaving the driver and copilot unscathed. I really appreciate that.
Subaru telling McRae to slow down and let his mate win is absurd lol. He looked pissed, and I would be too
it just happened to Ott Tanak this past weekend in Greece...
I've been watching racing of all kinds for three decades, and nothing drops my jaw as often as the WRC. For sheer insanity, it's like the Isle of Man TT combined with Pikes Peak, except multiple times a year all over the world. If you told me to pick a driver for a random auto race, without telling me anything about what type of race it is, I'd choose a rally driver every time.
Me too.
yeah they're definitely super versatile driving on every surface known to man.
Gilles and Colin, 2 legends of wrc. There wont be others like them.
Man these bring back memories with my dad who passed away. Used to watch WRC late at night with the old man back in 2001 to 2005 ish
Sorry to hear about your loss! It seems like you two had an amazing time together.
I feel like one can count, with fingers, the number of drivers who truly had to turn it down to let their teammates LOOK competitive. What an honor
:)
I think Petter Solberg's crash in Germany 2004 has to be up there among the most intense moments of all time. He hit a hinkelstein at almost top speed and the car looked the most mangled I've seen.
I remember that damaged Subaru Impreza……that was shocked
That is one of the most heavily damaged rally cars I have ever seen both driver and co-driver walk away from.
I remember that crash, it made me wince just watching it on screen.
When I think of Subaru rally cars, I think of two things.. The first is Colin McRae.. The second is the state of Petter Solbergs Impreza after taking those hinkelstiens to the roof three times. That shit was battered harder than any other WRC car I've ever seen.. It's outstanding that the cage kept them alive and in one piece.
I remember that . Crazy accident
rally drivers are a different breed
F1 is nice, THIS IS EPIC
Always watching from Georgetown Guyana south America 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
These rally drivers are a special breed of human being F1 the closed track we racing on is to dangerous out in more tech pro make it wider
Rally o 100m cliff wide enough for one car lets see who can do it the fastest proceeds to flip the car and still probably finish the race
Props to the editor who probably dedicated a month of their life combing through footage to put this together.
Those roll cages are amazing!!!
Gorgeous top. How long I've been waiting for this. Respect to all riders!
Me: if Gilles pulling a Donut isn't on the list....
"At number 2...."
Good.
I miss watching WRC.. think its time I return.
We share extended highlights from every rally on Red Bull TV www.redbull.com/int-en/event-series/fia-world-rally-championship
Good compilation, Red Bull.. 👍 Winning the Ypres Rally Belgium is almost impossible to predict. If Thierry Neuville is not on his best days, I think that both Kalle Rovanperä, Ott Tänak, Craig Breen and Elfyn Evans will do what they can to win, not to mention EP Lappi. The man of surprises. 😜🤘One thing is certain. It will be exciting to follow. 🚗💨💨💨
Great top 10, Red Bull.
Sorry Formula 1, but THAT'S really amazing and exiting motorsport. Nothing comparable to WRC
Despite the topic of the video, I’m still stunned by the beauty of the Lancer Evo :)
Damn rally is just straight up bonkers! I dont know whats worse between driving like a mad man or bury your head down a book while someone else drives...
A moment of Respect for King ROLL CAGE...his Majesty Roll Cage senior the 1st
The driving was great, but what about that helicopter at the end!
I would feel so GUILTY for wiping out a thousand GRAPE vines.
Hi guys at Redbull Rally, 😁...thanks for the cracking video!!... some great footage guys!👍... just one thing though?... you forgot to add on Petter Solberg & Phil Mills in their Subaru Rally Team car that had a horrific crash in Germany 🇩🇪 on the panzerplatte stages!... I can't Remember the exact year!!... but that was a whopping crash!!... but luckily they were all good!!!👌... otherwise I always enjoy watching your videos!! Great effort guys! Cheers Paul 🍻👍
Thank you 🙏
3:50 shows how real unsafe those barriers are withought the under ride bar.
Especially for motorcyclists.
4:37 I would contend that helicopter crew have bigger balls than any of the rally crews
Panizzi and his peers. The era and the charisma of rallying those days 🫶
2:31 So that's why my Riesling had a metallic taste
😂
I recon the last ever group b stage in corsica was pretty crazy too
Dope.
Colin MCcrae is WRC. MAN'S STILL THE LEGEND everyone wants to be.
“High yun dai” 😂
Time to scoured the archives to find some of the best tarmac rally moments in WRC history.
Roll on FIAWRC.
Super smashing
Collins team to say stay back is like fords in la man!
2:20 omg!
Tarmac is my favorite surface by far. Idk it's always been for some reason.
On the very first case: One incredible fact about Fourmaux's crash in Ypres 2021 was that M-Sport gave him the very last Fiesta WRC ever built, and not only wrote Fourmaux the car off on its first day of competition, it was Fiesta WRC chassis # 13 and it was Friday the 13th!
At 2:28: Petter Solberg did the same trick of crashing in shakedown and then winning the rally in Corsica 2003.
so fine DX
Strange choice for a top ten...
In addition to the other comments there was also one incredible stage of Loeb in Monte Carlo when he drove with no visibility due to fog but still managed to win the stage with quite a margin.
Yeah I wasn’t expecting a crash compilation from the title, could have shown some spectacular saves instead
Looks like I’m gonna go rally my Lexus now
Sick video! Thanks for letting us listen to the cars and the spoken words. WRC always add awful music.
0:40 tried to search for this one and haven't had any luck. Does anyone have a link to a highlight from that wreck?
How the hell did Elena manage to go from being pulled over with a fine, to getting an escort from the Mexican rozzers?
Well maybe he paid the fine...and added a bit extra :-D
4:33 A Flying Finn...😉
🤣🤣
3:18 I wonder why he changed a puncture, surely you would replace it with a good tyre.
👍👍👍👍👍
Man I do love a good rally. Gran Turismo?🤷♀️ 🥺💔
1:48 lol feels weird to hear Sr.'s name like that😂
Sorry, but the craziest tarmac moment in rally was Ari Vatanen's "Dear God" gate.
wow
How tf did they "patch" that hyundai up, that chassis was gone dude xD
We could make a asphalt top 10 in chapters. 10 remarkable wins/10 crashes/10 awesome moments etc. And would miss some clips... Nice!
Also Markko Martin on fire during Corsica 2004
1:20 Balance of Performance LOL LOL
I would add Kubica on Tarmac !
Imagine minding your business and all of a sudden a rally car flies off a cliff and rolls 26 time through your 300 year old vineyard
What about Kubica? Why he isn't in top? His crash (Rally Monaco if I remember correctly) was absolute monster
2:30 car is rolling and the driver he thinks is driving
What about Peter Spielberg hitting a hinkelstein in Germany or colin mcrae going down the ravine in corsica?
To hell with team orders.
Fast cars doing fast things fastly
My type of driving!!! Why I don't have my license anymore.
I can sense Initial D fans looking at the gutters or the inside of the road menacingly
Mäkinen's car looks so sexy! :O
Loeb being pulled over on a road section on Rally Mexico missing a wheel because the road was tarmac? Seriously?
Instead, what about Solberg destroying the Subaru on one of the hinkelsteins on Rally Germany and he and Mills lucky to escape with their lives? Or Solberg again on 2003 Rally Corsica badly damaging the Subaru in shakedown, but going on to win the rally in a bent car? What about Makinen's accident 1997's Tour de Corse hitting the cow on the road and plunging down the cliff?
I understand leaving out Toivonen and Cresto's deaths (again, Corsica), but a couple of these inclusions at the expense of those I've listed above are just bizarre.
3 wheeled crashed car is not road legal.
It was funny to see
2:28 a drága szőlő 💀
Omg
Breen v Meeke, you just know Meeke was gunning for Breen the entire time he was chasing.
0:40 that guy was lucky!
4:30 _that guy was luckier.
😎
As everyone said Peter should be up there with Germany crash and also France 2004 crash ,after wich he won the rally ..later that year winning the wrc crown
3:25 rally stages should be attacked in car couples lol much more awesome to watch :P
20 Years of Sebastian Loeb Citroen Xsara in Germany Deutschland Rally winner in 2002 maiden win
McRae o7
I would never want to live along a rally course.
where's that @0:39 ?
1:47 is this the same carlos sainz from f1???
His dad, Carlos Sainz Sr.
Pons vineyard escape in Germany 2006 is missing
Yes that was funny…his Citroën Xsara WRC looks like his want bought cristmas tree
Marshals have to check everything before car starts the SS. How did they miss this? 02:53
Complete insanity. Doesn’t even look real because they’re going so fast lol.
bruh, as if you keep driving with your bonnet flipped upside your windscreen.
You forget the McRae crash in Corsica 2000. And come on..... "Tarmac Moment in wrc HISTORY" And you dont consider the Sanremo rally ?!?!? Shame on you...
🙂
Why did McRae have to let team mate beat him.?
Who spells hyundai like that?
2:09
UK and Australia do, and our voice over man is British.
It's no Ulster rally.
Just accidents...
group b sets the standard for "crazy"..... this was ??? ..not even close... like comparing isle of man to a race track.
1:17 We were not Spanish fans, but Catalan fans.
I can't think of anything dumber in the racing world than a team demanding one of their drivers, who's winning, to back of so the guy who isn't as fast can win.
Anyone who thinks watching tarmac rallies is more exciting than gravel needs to just go back to watching circuit racing.
yes, there's nothing more spectacular than clouds of dust flying behind crazy fast cars going sideways
ott tanak terrible accident
toyota on top
Colin McRae should have told them to F off on the team orders to lose. What are they gonna do, fire the greatest rally driver ever, I think not.
That's the one thing I hate about any European auto racing. Team orders are such BS in motorsports.
