Quite a good APU with 4C8T. Only not so easy to get. And nowadays all APUs are sold at higher prices than their release prices due to GPU shortage. Except 5000G series. So wait for new APUs or get a 5600G now.
Looks like a great little CPU which, like you said, would be awesome for a HTPC, especially with the integrated graphics. It makes you wonder why the parent companies dont release a load of more of these out to comsumers, I could see these flying off the shelves. Hope you find a few more oddies like this at bargain prices, thanks Mike and Kath :-)
They are not retail cpu and should only be part of a built system this is the deal they made with the system manufactures. This is why I am surprised to hear ccl had them unless they had stipped down some systems and was selling of the parts.
performs similar to my 2400G,only this one rarely gets above 35W..damn efficient, the one im looking for is 4600G..if the retail price is $160,i might get one
I hadn't really considered these because they only have 6 vega cores. But!!!, . . I did get to play around with a 5300GE and was astonished. The ddr controller in these APUs is better than standard CPUs. My friend had bought 4000mhz(mts) ram and didn't know how to enable the XMP profile, so it was running at 2133. After helping him enable XMP it was a very noticeable increase in performance. It actually set me back as to just how well it performed with that 4000mhz memory. I've been wanting a 5700G ever since. I'm on a B450 board, so PCIe 4.0 support isn't a concern to me. Frankly, I'm not much into gaming or content creation, so PCIe 4.0 and so on offers me no benefit. Anyway, thank you for reviewing this chip. There isn't much out there (independent reviews/videos) on these.
Very interesting review Mike. Assume the expensive item would be the itx mb. Intel 10100 with graphics I presume wouldn't compete with this AMD 4300GE. A HTPC would be great for retreating to the bedroom especially wen rest family watching horror films or ironing to be done lol I find justifying the overall high expense of HTPC difficult and more luxury than necessity. Thank you for sharing Mike and Kath, have a great week👍
I'm actually surprised how well this chip does. My daughters pre built came with it and I was considering swapping it out. Ended up putting an Rx6600 i got for£185 along side it. Basically the perfect pairing.
I have this cpu. Works well enough to run old games like Dying Light etc. Not recommended to be paired higher than RX590. I recently bought RX570 to run newer games and the cpu is constantly running 50%-60%
Not seeing the places selling the 5600g for £180 almost all of them have it at £200 if not more that price was due to a coupon/voucher so not really valid everyday price.

the new 5100 looks interesting, due out in May it seems

it performs really well. for a bit of light gaming or emulation boxes this will be awesome, and run cool to boot

Right there with ya Bob. Take care. Cheers
I got this APU as a DIY part on the gray market 😂
that seems to be the best way to get them

thanks for the info and yes it seems the memory controllers on these are really robust
Interesting lil cpu 🥰👍 35w w/ an APU and this performance is quite impressive 🤩🤯!
It really is! a great little APU if you can find one and at a decent price
Good video. I wonder if AMD will be releasing a lot of this apu, it kinda undercuts the 5600g for a budget build. 🤔
We shall see, the new 5000 based low end cpus and apus are due in May so will be an interesting few months in the run up to the launch

what we need is a Small form factor or slimline ATX chassis somehow
@@mikesunboxing Does that exist?

yeah it has limitations, it is all about balance
Great video thanks Mike. My kind of processor - bargain, Power efficient with graphics!
Same here! i always like a bargain, and low powered ones work for me
I totally agree Paul. AMD APU's are very good indeed. Take care. Cheers
Review is Worthy of Support comment & a Like 🙂
thank you william have a great day
@@mikesunboxing You are welcome. and the same to you and Co 😀
5600G only $329 Aud (including GST) or 199GB pounds including VAT the GE variants are not seen here in Australia even in OEM builds
really? to be honest there aren't a lot of 4300G or GE systems about, the lower end AMD stuff is very hard to find
I just bagged one for £43 inc delivery from CEX
It's going in an ASROCK deskmini - I'm going to have an energy efficient machine that performs well :D
Nice one! Hope it works out okay
@@mikesunboxing it arrived today and a few of the pins are bent :(
Kind of annoying that CEX might have broke a CPU that's so rare in this country
@@joefifa8415 Their packaging sucks! Hope you can get it resolved

@ 225$ cad, it is a bit expensive, but it's an interresting cpu. I might try to trade my 3100 for one of these ,,,🤔
keep an eye out for it and when the price is right grab one, you will like it i'm sure
I have this CPU
But idk what the best GPU to get with it
Can i get RTX 3060 with this CPU???
you can get it just be aware that the 4300GE has a limited amount of PCIe gen 3 lanes and the GPU is a Gen 4 card
@@mikesunboxing thank you i wasn't know that.
How very dare you, the Athlon 200G is like totally excellent Po!! Very dissapointed in that comment Po!!
Athlon 200G and 3000g are really good when you can buy them for the MRSP, or on offer, but current pricing is sickening PO!!
@@mikesunboxing Well i have both paid £25 for each, and agreed £80 or more is taking the piss Po!!
Hi Mike can you look for some cheap H610 mobos, and make a super budget Xbox / PS killer? (with a i3 i5)
i did at the weekend on the stream, check it out
First baby
Thanks for watching :-)
