This might sound dumb but would this work with my monitor disconnected? If I do all of this and then disconnect the screen to connect it to my work PC, can I still mirror?
It should work. But i would just get an additional display port/HDMI cord and plug the work PC into same monitor and switch on monitor what HDMI input you wanna view. Most monitors have multiple HDMI ports
I have gone through all the hoops as truly portable laptops are essentially portable heaters with screens these days, but WiFi 7 and 5g UWB do exist...In short, Samsung does not support external displays greater than 60hz no matter the resolution whether it be wired or wireless DEX or screen mirror UNLESS you use wireless Smart View with a Samsung TV where you can then adjust external display resolution and refresh rate. Since 99% of use cases will require the wired connection for input lag reasons, the workaround is to use an app called SecondScreen from the play store. It will enable you to setup external display profiles with desired external resolutions and refresh rates and use wired screen mirroring to any display. Downside is your phone screen stays on and isn't usable separately as it is in DEX. This hurdle is the least of your worries, as your upload speed at home on your host machine will certainly be the limiting factor of your remote play experience. For example, 1080p 60hz requires a solid ~20-25mb continuous bit rate to eliminate latency and frame stutters. You need a solid 20-25mb upload (more overhead is needed with more devices on your network) to your ISP from your host computer to seamlessly play remotely. Also, I highly recommend sunshine / moonlight setups over Steam link. 😊
@@christopherkirk7055 I've just been USBC hub HDMI and playing on tv at 1080 60hz. I'll have to set up sunshine/moonlight. I got steam link working pretty decent. I was having a big lag issue because in goodlock with multi star I enabled high resolution for external display. My god that input lag was bad. Took me forever to figure out that's why it was broken. Also sometimes I get audio cut like every 5 seconds while running retro or streaming games. I'm about to give up on this.
Hey thanks for the video very much appreciate it i subscribed....can you do a video how to play in your phone without a controller please? I cant nove anything but the screen 😢
pretty sure WoW Eula states that you cannot use any third party cloud computing software. This means you cannot play it using a service that allows remote inputs. As this could be a potential issue for cheating. I would not risk playing WoW through steam link. Very good possibly of being banned.
Hi, what about the new Nvidia Geforce Now? I'm trying to play from my S21Ultra, the game kicks in perfectly and I can use the virtual keyboard but it seems I can't use the virtual controller of the application itself. Is very practical but I would like to use the build in virtual controller cause it's impossibile to use the virtual keyboard, no more room left for the screen ;P

Heya. Thanks for the info. Do you have a video or solution for remote start of the host PC or does it have to be constantly on?

Yo, would this work with older versions with private servers? So i could play from work here and there.
Thanks for sharing this man :)
No problem 😊
Im shopping for a portable monitor. Would my s24 cap the external monitor at 60hz? I would prefer to at least play at 144hz.

@@Andrew-zk1wv Streaming from your own personal devices is fine. You can't have a "cloud server" streaming the game to you.
I'll be on the fountain sitting in stormwind
The greenscreen is so strange
Now it is available on Geforce NOW, so it should be easier to play on mobile
I can’t find it on there at all
I found it but I can't figure out how to use my backbone to do anything
Just get a laptop FFS lol
