Thank you ...I'm 70 yrs old now and want prints again . I remember seeing the first prints from a very early Polaroid Land Camera . It's still magic and a wonderful gift to share with others . Dear Fuji .. please keep film prices as low as possible. Thanks for a great review .
I can’t tell you enough how much I admire Fujifilm. People are right though. If they just made a few more better, strategic business move they could CRUSH everyone else.
This is why I love photography. As Chris says, it's all about capturing the moment. It's still a lot of fun looking at printed photos again and again and being excited to see the next one in the box or in an album. I remember as a child, we sometimes had photo-album days on rainy days. We would get all the pictures out of the drawer and we would just have a look at the pictures and laugh etc. It was really cosy and we all liked it.
I picked up one of these for my wife in February, and this one's an absolute hit. At this point all her friends want one as well, but a mix of hype/popularity and supply chain issues means it's pretty much sold out at most major retailers that carry it. One of the best things about it is the ability to print multiple of the same shot since the shot gets saved to storage.
I just got my mini evo a week ago and the photos that I give to people bring more smiles than my expertly edited portraits. I see this as the perfect ice breaker, the perfect travel street portrait camera when you need to gain trust.
I got my kids started in photography shooting Instax cameras, this takes it one step further in conserving shots if they can choose which images they can print. Thanks for putting the time for this review, and great to see you are doing well health wise.
This is a great camera for kids, they can shoot anything they like and not worry wasting a print. I wish my parents got me a polaroid instead of passing off paranoid genes!!
Ok, I'm really wondering about the instax pastel model for a smaller kid. I mean, this one looks so analog & nostalgic, and has really good features, but maybe it's to early for her to see it the same way I do. So, maybe instax is a better option at this point...She's really an enthusiast. She has one of these really bulky kids digital cameras... I mean she does really good shots with this... And it's not easy to do it with such cameras, as they are really limited...
If Fuji is smart they should start offering a subscription-based film delivery service and really generate some revenue off this one. Man I want one of these.
At least there's one working Fujifilm app! That being said, I got the Fujifilm wide printer for Christmas and have been using the app with that and it hasn't been too bad. Bit addicted to "printing" photos out now, been giving them as gifts to friends and family. There's something so different about holding a picture then looking at it on your phone. It's really helped solidify some of my memories of these last few pandemic years too, having printed off photos of some of the few social events we have been able to enjoy in this time. Great to see you feeling better, thanks for everything you do for the Fujifilm community and photography community in general.
As a photographer, I really find your recomendation of editing photos in Lightroom so exciting and useful! When I used instax 11 i said this is one of the most awful cameras i've ever tried to, but instax mini evo has a lot more good features, than i've expected to. Thank you for this video!!!
Away from the complete info that you gave in this video (which I thank you very much) I Got to say that the way you make your videos, reflects the love you have for photography, and the fact that you do it so well, make that good energy be contagious for those who see you! Thank you very much for your good vibes! Keep it up!
This is soooo far the best review and demo I watched for Instax Mini Evo. There are a lot of features/functionalities I've discovered from watching this that I didn't see from other videos. This helped so much for me to decide whether I'll get myself one for Christmas. And Yes! I'll get one! 😂
Boggles my mind that their flagship camera app is nearly unusable, but the Evo app works flawlessly… Hopefully this is a preview of a future update 🙏 Great review as always!
I know this a 2yr old video but I’m going to comment anyways, I just purchased the evo having never heard of it. I casually like taking pictures on my phone but don’t enjoy it as much This camera reminds me of my college days taking photo 101, Printing and developing my black and whites in a dark room. I’m so looking forward to using this camera and see what memories I can capture.
You know what Chris….the best part of your review, were all your boxes full of memories. Enough of digital files, prints will be always the best thing to have. You have a beautiful family Chris 🙂 …I am working on mine too 😊 cheers from Italy
I am really happy with my OG instax SP1 printer, I just found shooting with iPhone then print them out from the printer will yield better image quality. Now I am interested in the Instax Link Wide, love the bigger format.
This is fantastic I love the idea of this camera and I've been waiting for it to come out. I do own the wide Instax printer that has in my opinion better picture quality. But I love what Fuji is doing with this format and instant film. And I agree with your comments 100% that the world is ready to take a step back and enjoy being in the moment and not needing things so digital or instantaneous. This is a perfect companion for that thought process. By the way when I bring my Instax printer to a family gatherings, we can’t get enough of it. The kids love it!
Seems like a fun camera. The big thing for me is the ability to do a quick print out and give to someone you photographed. I doubt I would ever buy this but I might look into mini printers that hooked up to a smart phone. Not sure what is out there but a fun concept to consider. I agree, digital content is becoming passé. I'd love to have a box of tactile photos I could look through to reminisce for nostalgia sake. Much more soulful.
Thank you for your wonderful review and it helped me decide what I wanted my wife to gift me😂 I shamelessly asked her that I wanted this camera and she happily ordered this from Amazon as I live in Dubai and we dont have this here in store. The camera made my birthday dinner extra special and as you rightly said it made my two sisters very happy that I gave them printed copies and btw I gifted them the “mini 12” camera on my younger sisters birthday which was on 13th feb and elder sister was gifted because she has two toddler twins😊 Thank you and God bless you and Fuji
I really like the EVO because it's a hybrid Digital/print polaroid which helps to save all pictures onto a computer or social media. I definitely don't like films or those over priced print cartridges when you can print 100's of photo's on your printer for 1/50th of the cost. I hope Fujifilm releases a revised version with improved image resolution, touch screen and higher bitrate. This camera is definitely on my top three list to buy.
I like what you said at the end part of the video sir! You’re absolutely right that it’s a perfect timing for fuji making this and just take pictures and give it to someone! Human connection is always better. Thanks for making videos and tutorials! Keep it up! More success to you and the channel.
You got me with that last part Sir! As a hobbyist, I'm not really sure why I love taking photos of family members, things around me, landscapes, even strangers I met on the street; especially because I have no financial incentives for doing it. I guess it's a subconscious thing since as a human we can not control the flow of time. So, if time can only flow one way, with photography at least I have a part of that time that I can keep.
I have a Instax SQ10 and it is so much fun! I love to shoot more freely with it than with a professional camera. Polaroids just have a unique magic to them a smartphone will never have. Thanks for that video ☺️
This review was the final one I needed to buy the camera. It is SO awesome to have the option of printing pictures that you took from a smartphone! Thank you pal
Very happy to see that you are back. I have the impression that you are not yet back to the same energy level as before, but I am sure that very soon you will be back at your usual 150%.
I hope you’re feeling better! I’m also excited to see your review of this camera. However, I’m bummed that they are releasing new stuff when their app for their older cameras is still utter crap. For such a great company otherwise, I just don’t get why they won’t fix their app for the regular camera models.
Not sure which part of this video I liked most…the camera review or your sentiment about the last 2 years and what we need right now…. Nice job, Chris.
I got this camera in the mail yesterday. Playing with it today. I never found the original instax camera worthwhile. No control, photos poor quality. When I found out about the EVO from a friend I was intrigued. I loved the fact that I could insta print from my phone. I had the hardest time getting the bluetooth set up. The instruction, were just not user friendly. I finally figured out I had to turn bluetooth on on my camera, the app, and the EVO. ugh. The print quality is ok. I need to play with it much more. I do appreciate the extra options on the camera/printer itself, brightness, contrast and saturation. How do I get the images to save to the sd card?
I cry at the end of the video, thanks for this. My girlfriend leaves me few days ago and I have on my room's walls all us photos. We all need to remember, we need to touch those magical moments. Thank you
Thank you foe your “Thoughts & Recommendations”!! Very subtle, yet very powerful. And I agree!! We need that “human connection now more than ever”! “Why do we take photos? I don’t know, but I’m glad they’re there!” ME TOO!! Thank you!!
Thank you for this wonderful review! I just bought one last week and absolutely love it. It just remind me of old days viewing each photo album. Surly the camera isn’t for serious photography but just let us purely enjoy what photography is, to cherish those moments!
Love the finishing thoughts to your video. Couldn’t agree more of the state of the world. Less noise is priceless, bravo on the recommendation. Blessings !
I have mixed feelings about these hybrid cameras. XD On one hand, I like the surprise(as well as its charm when you get something completely unexpected.) that instax / Polaroid contributes when you can not predetermine how the result will be, Something that these hybrid cameras take from, as they feel more like a regular digital camera with an added bonus of a printer. But on the other hand, instax / Polaroid film can be quite expensive and wasteful, especially if many pictures end up bad. So the whole bit of being able to choose to get good pictures before print, feels like a bonus especially when you can save the pictures on a sd card.
Nice little instant camera. Great review. The best part was the message to us all at the end - Human Connection, thanks for taking the time to mention it, we all need more ❤️
Nice to see you again fit, Chris. I take fotos, most of them to my family because I'm a hunter of feelings. I print them to hang on the wall or I sent to my digital frame. It's amazing to see how we enjoy of the pictures that were taken in the past. They bring us to this moments and remember us where we're going. I know that it's too much romantic view of photography but so I see it.
Just ordered mine today on Amazon 🤘 it was out of stock but now is back! Delivery is in a couple of weeks but I am excited to try it out once it arrives. It will be my first Instax Camera, love the feature where you can select which photo to print.
this is cool! I actually bought the Instax Link Wide printer a few months ago. Any photo taken on any camera, as long as you can put into your phone, you can print through the app. It prints actually really beautiful sharp photos. I don't know about the shelf-life of those images, but I seriously couldn't believe how good they looked when I put something from my XT4 onto my phone and then printed on this little printer.
Also shout out to the instax mini link printer which is just a printer from your smart phone so you can print any photo! I use it for my iPhone and xt3 pics. Everyone LOVES getting the little instax prints so much!
This camera seems absolutely great for only $200. Being able to choose which shots to print is pure genius! Very fun and informative review. Great job! BTW, a .csv file is a standard ASCII/text based file format that stands for "comma separated variables" used by computers since at least the 80s. I can't say for certain that is what the Fuji file is, but opening the file in a text editor like Notepad (sorry, not a Mac user) would quickly confirm this. And if Adobe or other programs aren't able to make heads or tails of a simple CSV file, that is a serious knock on them, not Fuji.
@@DirectAccessYT I am well aware of that. Nearly all programs from spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc. are capable of importing a csv. But most people don't have access to Excel, or even if they do, are far from fluent enough to know how to import a csv. Far easier to just open it in a text editor like Notepad for most computer users if all you're doing is confirming that it is indeed a csv and not some proprietary file format of Fuji's.
I think this is the best review and set up i've ever watched! Especially the way you express the "expectations" from the camera is amazing! Yk, some of the other videos there when they tells us the disadvantages it makes us pick another camera but urs is different! Planning to buy this for my BIRTHDAY😭💓🤗🙌🏻
What a fabulous video. Your channel really fills an interesting niche. Lots of technical info, but also, the "why" of photography, the human side, real life. This one almost had a documentary feel to it and I loved it. And BTW, your wife is an adorable model! Hope you're feeling better now.
My man, great video. I am an amateur going doing some travel so I decided to get one of these for fun on the trips. Your video was extremely informative, descriptive yet amazingly concise, and that human touch at the end? Wow. Wasn't expecting to get hit in the existential feels watching a camera tutorial!
One thing you did not mention was the in built camera battery life. I have known cameras in the past with inbuilt batteries that could only be replaced by returning them to the manufacturers, at a huge price .This then made the camera unusable .If this camera had replaceable batteries I would consider one. Thanks for an informative video.
Such a brilliant review. Beautifully written. More than the technical aspects of the camera, it’s the “why” that makes this video so moving. Why do we need this camera? The ‘why’ sometimes outweighs the ‘what’. Great job. New sub!
Could be Cool to build an actual film camera around that Instax film sheets. So, how about - Fully Manual Metal Body with dials + fixed 23mm + those Instax film. * No Crappy Digital Sensor
Thanks for the info. I just made my decision to get this nice little FujiFilm Instax Mini Evo after watching your video and I actually bought XE4 after looking at your video year ago. Thanks again!!!
This is such an awesome review! I’m going to buy one for sure. Sounds like a really fun camera to capture and share the moments with family and friends. I’m so impressed with your video and the quality of the contents. Thank you!
Thanks Chris! Very helpful as always. You just convinced me that if I want prints to share when traveling, I should simply carry a Fujifilm Instax Mini Link 2 and transfer pix from my iPhone.
I was thinking about buying the instax printer to print photos from my phone but now that I came across this video, I think this camera is a better choice!
Hey :) review was wonderful, I bought one of the back of this review, what you talked about "being in the moment" that really struck with me and I've come up with a beautiful way to use this camera creatively :) :) To be honest, I never knew this camera even existed till I saw your review. All I can say is thank you so much, this video has helped alot, not just the review but also your personal thoughts too :)
Great video!!!! I shoot X100V, but also Polaroid and Instax Wide. I love the look and function of this camera, but most of all the fun of it. It is definitely on the shopping list for next week! Thanks for the time you put into this.
I am so glad I didn’t purchased the mini printer, they were out of stock everywhere and the only stores who had it were selling it at $169.99!. I know this one is around $199.99 but it is worth it!
Thank you ...I'm 70 yrs old now and want prints again . I remember seeing the first prints from a very early Polaroid Land Camera . It's still magic and a wonderful gift to share with others .
Dear Fuji .. please keep film prices as low as possible.
Thanks for a great review .
“Why do we take photos? I don’t know, but I’m glad that they are there.”
What a poem!

The Ttartisan cheap optical viewfinder is perfect on this camera

Wow. Every question I had has been answered very clearly. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Comprehensive without being overwhelming. Love this channel! Thank you!

Great idea. Fuji, I see an opportunity here! 📣
Thanks for the review...seems like a fun camera. But NOT being able to send a photo to your phone unless you print it first...kind of a deal killer.
My local camera store has this service. : D
Please god, no more subscription services.
“If” Fuji is smart… あなたがばかだね。smh…
I really love your last words. People often drift out of the moment and you summed it up perfectly. Thank your very much for this.
Hit the nail on the head with both the intro and final segment about what it's all about
The short clip near the end with you and your kid having a bonding time... It was nice.

Hilarious comment. I’m dying 😹😹😹

Far easier to just open it in a text editor like Notepad for most computer users if all you're doing is confirming that it is indeed a csv and not some proprietary file format of Fuji's.
Yeah since film costs so much wasting a shot isn't very smart. I would rather pay more for the camera than for the film.
Beautiful outro and so true. I'm really interested in this little beast. Need to upgrade!
This video really helps since I want to buy one but the part where you can only transfer printed photos on your phone is a bummer
We take photos for all those reasons. Our minds may get forgetful and memories may fade but those pieces of printed paper can bring it all back.
What a fabulous video. Your channel really fills an interesting niche. Lots of technical info, but also, the "why" of photography, the human side, real life. This one almost had a documentary feel to it and I loved it. And BTW, your wife is an adorable model! Hope you're feeling better now.
Thank you so much Paula!!! 🙏 🙏 🙏 I may be soon making a mini-doc on her incredible talent for making stuff. 👍
Ty for the how to use. I didn’t know how many prints I had left, most importantly how to navigate the menu.
This was exactly what I was wanting and wishing for about a year and a half ago...I think I created this with my mind
My man, great video. I am an amateur going doing some travel so I decided to get one of these for fun on the trips. Your video was extremely informative, descriptive yet amazingly concise, and that human touch at the end? Wow. Wasn't expecting to get hit in the existential feels watching a camera tutorial!
Now that’s how you do a review that was awesome, beautiful and very personal thank you for that
very smart of fuji for making ppl print the pics in order to store the digital copy, so ppl would need to purchase more films! $$$
Ohh ... great review + your lovely message at the end ❤
Great job. New sub!
welcome back, Chris! We love you
Very well done. It's good to see you back at it and I hope you are feeling better.
Could be Cool to build an actual film camera around that Instax film sheets.
So, how about -
Fully Manual Metal Body with dials + fixed 23mm + those Instax film.
* No Crappy Digital Sensor
So much emotion at the end. TY
Loved the way you presented the camera.
I am saving money (not planning to buy anything really) rn but I want to buy this. The statement u said at the end really struck me. Nicely done!
Great review ! Can feel your love for photography ❤️
I love when you get emotional. Honestly and earnestly love it. :)
Great video!!!! I shoot X100V, but also Polaroid and Instax Wide. I love the look and function of this camera, but most of all the fun of it. It is definitely on the shopping list for next week! Thanks for the time you put into this.
This is the best review I have ever watched, very thought provoking.
I am so glad I didn’t purchased the mini printer, they were out of stock everywhere and the only stores who had it were selling it at $169.99!. I know this one is around $199.99 but it is worth it!
The final thoughts, wholesome as f, really thinking of getting this camera for more "cute" moments with my family or partner
Best photography UA-camr! Welcome back sir
So nice of you! Thank you!
Great, cristal clear review, Chris. Thanks!
