I’m probably about the same age as you (and maybe older), so I’ve been listening to popular music since the 1960s. Of all those bands and all that music, Nightwish has emerged as one of my two favorite bands and Floor as my #1 favorite singer ever. Great reaction - keep it up.
This song is all about "Carpe Diem". Life is short. Dare to be bold and reach for your dreams. This is "Where heroes and cowards part ways". Many young women are drawn to Nightwish and Floor as a powerful female inspiration and role model.
Correct, Floor of course loves her floor fan. Conversely, we Floor fans love her as well.
That moment when Nightwish enters the outro in "Seven days..."...I forget to breathe. Always.
This song has a special place in my heart !!! Not just because wolf is Estonian national animal and my spirit animal, but the windmill battle between Tuomas and Floor ....
Plus, Floor's inner Wolf Howl !!! holy mother of Odin !!!
I have seen this song Live in my home country Estonia, although it was without Marko (Marko left the band, but now we have a new Bass Player Jukka "Gentle Giant" Koskinen), but Troy really steps up and harmonizes with Floor like never before. Still getting goosebumps, even if I write in here.
PS: Troy is playing an Electric Bouzouki ( A musical instrument popular in Greece. It is a member of the long-necked lute family, with a round body with a flat top and a long neck with a fretted fingerboard.).
And that Emppu solo... He just teases you with that (just look at that grin he is making).
The title is taken from a King's novel called “Wolves of the Calla”. But the conception of the book has nothing to do with the text behind the song, it is far more inspired by the film "Dead Poets' Society". The main idea is - one must live his life the best he can, to strive for his aims, because the wolves are always 7 days behind you and they will catch you if your life is not of full value... and then you will be only dead meat.
That's what Tuomas (Metal Mozart) said in one interview some time ago.

According to Floor, she "never" works out...but she does live on a farm and is pretty hands-on with feeding and caring for the horses, gardening, building fences, etc. And I'm not sure which concert footage you're referring to, but there is always a good mix of male and female at their concerts.
The guitarist, Emppu, loves to interact with the other members of the band, the crowd, and also to throw guitar picks. He always seems to have a smile on his face. The bass player with the great voice, Marko Hietala, is one of the founders of the metal genre in Finland, and he is a well loved and respected figure. He left Nightwish a couple of years ago and is now out on his own again. His career spans decades with his own band "Tarot", a collaboration with some of the other leading Finnnish metal singers called "Northern Kings" a sucessful solo album "Pyre of the Black Heart" and numerous colllaborations with other metal singers. He has just finished a tour of South America with the first singer from Nightwish, Tarja Turunen. This Fall, those two will be embarking on a European tour. That's the thing about Nightwish. Each musician is such an accomplished and experienced individual on their own, as well as with the band.
My favorite Nightwish song….essentially live life to the fullest because you never know when it’s going to end. Don’t be afraid to take chances in life with things because of risk of not getting it or being unable to achieve it. That’s how I take the heroes and cowards line. Cowards will never take the chance or risk …heroes do. I love the intricacies of Kai’s drum work in this song…plus the 30 second Floor windmill. Also, very impressive that Tuomas keeps his timing/precision on his keyboard work while windmilling like a beast himself.
Just an FYI - Floor isn't Nordic, she's Dutch and yes, she is tall - a bit over 6 feet and about 6"-4 or 5" in her heels. Marko, the bass player is a living metal legend in the genre.

Floor has a ranch with her husband Hannes (drummer Sabaton), their 2 children, dog, horses and cats. This woman smashes her fence posts herself with a sledgehammer. She doesn't have to go to the gym.
Marco is an excellent singer and together with Floor a dream duo. He also has songs in Nightwish that he sings alone.

There’s a video of Floor casually swinging a 20kg kettlebell as a warm-up. Filmed at some parking lot, back in ReVamp days. Don’t know if she still works out, but she surely did back then.

Marko sings often, he's a very good versatile singer too. Floor is a fanatic horseback rider and has a beautiful horse in her meadows.

Floor does some yoga. You'll see Floor with the sledge hammer in Story Time on her UA-cam Channel and i think its episode 2. I like Floor and Tuomas headbanging at the same time. I also Love when Floor has her mouth open with the silent yell. Floor and Marko = Amazing

Which videos did you see when you didn`t see women (whole Wacken front row is full of them) and when you didn`t see Marko sing? He sang in many songs! Or listen to `While your lips are still red´ or. `The islander`. Or the amazing tribute `High Hopes`!

Nice reaction, and a great song! My favorite part is the end where NW just crancks up the tension until the end. And for visual delights, Floor's silent (to the recording) yell to the audience is pure gold.
The NW fandom is quite diverse, I'm between 50 and 60 and I'm not anything out of the ordinary, some of us fell in love of the band in their early years. And about the gender distributinon, my take is that women are the smallish majority. This may vary depending on your location.
Of course Floor works with her body. There is a great interview on the net with Simone and Floor talking about the touring life - how they as frontwomen always had to take care of themselves - what they eat, drink, get restet, workout ans so on, to ensure that there are something for the ears and something for the eyes. And the guys don't have any of these concerns.. but they say it with a big smile.
Floor often works out early in the morning together with the crew, when they are on tour. And she is more than an excellent swimmer!

I don't know what you have been watching but every live video has both of young and not so young people, men and women (well some videos it looks like only young people).
Now i am not sure but my guess is that if we take whole Nightwish live career and compare men and women as bought tickets, i would say that there is more women who have bought tickets to live performances then men. Probably not by much but i still would bet on it that more women have bought tickets to live shows.

They even have their older generation of fans mixed genders I am 72yr old female and listen almost daily I traveled to Japan last year to see them at a music festival Loud Park in Osaka.
You do really need to learn the band members by name instead of by their instruments if you are going to do more reactions to NW it would sound much more genuine to the listener and show you have at least made an effort to connect to the band and their fans

This is not Rush.
The female interest in this band is closer to Motley Crue or Poison. And I hate making that comparison, because this band is SO much better than those. But I can't think of a metal band with a stronger female following than Nightwish.

And yes there's a ton of female fans. Why wouldn't there be? I've known and followed Nightwish for 24-ish years, and almost all of my female friends love them. Every single video you have and will see with Nightwish there's a lot of women in the audience.
Dont see the point in ruining the SONG, by commenting on such a stupid thing. Pausing any song is dumb in itself. But at least most ppl pause to comment on something song related that they for some reason just CANT wait til after the song to comment on. But to butcher the song with needless pauses, just to point out "hey look, it's a female"... dude...ffs.
