I felt the same as you four years ago. Floor blew me totally away. So much so we flew last year June from the other "down under" (South Africa) to gop watch NW and Floor live in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. It was somewhat of a divine experience. My wife an ardent non metal head cried when she heard Floor sing💥💥💥💥💥
Crazy, that u did this trip to Germany to see Nightwish live. I was also in Gelsenkirchen but I'm living in Germany and my trip was just an hour driving. Impressive you did this for a concert. But I can understand. I loved Nightwish in my early 20th but lost contact. Then I was introduced to Floor's Nightwish last year January and felt instantly in love. And I was so happy to get the chance to see them live in June in Gelsenkirchen! I was teared up the whole concert.

I saw Nightwish live in Birmingham UK in November 2022. I have seen many, many top bands, Nightwish are truly awesome. The best live band I've ever seen, without a doubt. Congratulations to your friend, she's just had her first Floorgasm.😊

Not many songs invoke a profound image in my head, but at the end when she sings "my fall will be for you" I imagine a queen walking the front line of a battle field infront of her beloved soldiers who have sacrificed everything for her and these lyrics, words are to make them know that she is aware and that if she is to die it is for them and she is grateful, and as the image comes into my mind I feel the immense sorrow of the soldiers, their Hearts breaking and so I shed a tear for the feeling of the soldiers. It's bizarre but that's what I get from the end sequence of this song

Thank you for a great reaction. The versatility of Floor's voice is incredible: She can sing all from opera (watch "O mio babbino caro" or "The phantom of the opera" together with Henk Poort at Beste Zangers 2019) to death metal growls (watch "Disdain" with her former band ReVamp at Graspop 2010 or with Nightwish "Yours is an empty hope" at Wembley 2015 - Floor is doing the growling there, not Marco). Floor is one of the best singers of our time, after many years of hard work near perfection, and at the same time a kind, humble and down-to-earth person. And she is an empath, a gift and curse at the same time, who is able to transform this with her singing. Therefore I very often cry when listening to her. She brings me in touch with my deepest emotions.
Maybe you can let her watch the video Floor made reacting to herself doing this at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish and how she felt that day. This and so many more presents Floor left on her UA-cam channel to unpack.

I have watched this performance a zillion times now. And the strange thing is: I keep tearing up. No escaping from it. But when Floor does "Alone" from Heart, recorded at home, or "Shallow" in the show: " de beste zangers", translated "the best singers", I have to cry. She is an amazing one of a kind human being. It is not only the most perfect voice ever; It is also her stage presence, her gestures, her looks, her ability to rule the crowd, and above all her ability to transfer emotion into the hearts of the helpless spectators....And the most fantastic thing is: She remains a very very humble nice person. Even after all these successes, she remains loyal to herself. Indeed a unique woman. And when you combine that with a composer like Tuomas and a band like Nightwish....in my opinion history is being written here. Mozart and Beethoven, make room for Nightwish.

Also regarding Floor, someone has misled you: Wacken wasn't her first concert with Nightwish. She joined the band on October 1, 2012. Their performance at Wacken was on August 3, 2013 and that was her 46th concert with Nightwish.
From what I could hear he didn´t say this was Floors first show. He said that they played some showes leading up to this but this was more showing Floor "to the world"

If she has experienced Tarja she might want to hear her original version of this song to understand the changes made by Floor. So many of the crowd didn't expect this as previous singer, Anette Olzon, couldn't sing it. Also Floor sings songs written for Anette and they are better than the originals.

Hi Guys, I am a big Nightwish army member. You should put the Danish band "Within Temptation" on the reaction list. Somewhat similar to Nightwish and has sold more albums. Try the songs "Faster" or "The Reckoning". Explain the bands to "The Hu" songs "Wolf Totem" or "Black Thunder". Good luck.

I say this because I saw you have the Iron Maiden poster behind you of Iron Maiden, and their album titled "Somewhere in Time." I find that to be a happy little coincidence, because I have two live performances for you to check out.
First is Iron Maiden performing Hallowed Be Thy Name, live at the Hammersmith, in 1982. This performance is what I call the "Ghost Love Score of the 1980s." Not only is it I believe Bruce Dickinson's first live performance singing for Iron Maiden, but Hallowed Be Thy Name had not even been released on its album yet. This is also the performance where Bruce became known as "The Human Air Raid Siren."
Fast-forward to 2024, this year: Arjen Lucassen, a prog-rock composer who has been writing music since before I was born, put together a live Ayereon show this year. Arjen, by the way, is known for bringing the best of the best together for his projects, such as Ayereon and Star-One. He still holds the record at the number of vocalists on one track with 11 vocalists on the track "The Day That The World Breaks Down." But this comment is more about Canadian Brittney Slayes singing Fate of Man, a Star-One song that is based on the 1984 move Terminator.
Brittney Slayes is known by us "Archers" (The Unleash the Archers fandom) as "The Female Bruce Dickinson." And she is getting known for her talent as well, as she filled in for Floor during one of Ayereon's shows.
And for the live performance of Fate of Man, Brittney has Floor's sister Irene singing backup for her, in a song that is a fitting tribute for the Terminator movie franchise. Fate of Man is also the only live performance of Brittney Slayes where audio difficulties are not present, thus the sound of the recording is very clean, like Wacken 2013.
But check out both Fate of Man live with Brittney Slayes, as well as Hallowed Be Thy Name live in 1982, with Iron Maiden! You won't regret either performance, I guarantee it!

Gabriel should show up any time now, but for me just start at the beginning of the concert ("Dark Chest of Wonders") and move forward. GLS was near the end of the concert. Seven of the songs on the set list were Tarja era songs, seven were Anette era songs - One was an instrumental ("Last of the Wilds"). Nightwish has two longer songs. One requires you to read up about it. "The Poet and the Pendulum" is a musical representation of how awful Tuomas felt after Tarja was fired. He was depressed and in the song he imagines committing suicide. You even see a visual watching him. There's a lot of backstory, and it needs to be read. That song is around 15 minutes, going through five stages of grief. You even see remaining band members (at the time of Tarja was fired) walk up to him at the end. The longest song is exciting, but there's two versions - and I like both for different reasons. The one at Wembley is more contemplative and you get to see Richard Dawkins finish it. The one at Tampere is - WOW - but people often tune out before the recorded part of Dawkins plays. Obviously, there are other great songs by Nightwish, and this concert includes "Wish I had an Angel" and "Ever Dream" The Nightwish army pours in when they hear of a new reaction. Buckle up.
