You’re so sweeeet thanks
Wew
Wow
Thank you! :)
Caleigh C thank you
What Dipa achieved in Rio was path breaking for Indian gymnastics. To give an idea, just imagine one of the least known and under funded sport in your country, and then think of an athlete being the 4th best in the entire world at the Olympics !! Dipa couldn't give India a medal, but she gave us the courage to dream big!
Well said!
Even I am an Indian gymnast she's an inspiration for all of us
Such an amazing final.
But more people should give credit to Hong. I'm sure representing North Korea is not easy. Just living there is unimaginable for so many of us.
Also what she, Chusovitina and Karmakar have accomplished for their countries with so little internal support is just amazing.
DPRK is not that bad as what you read on media. DPRK is slowly adopting the Chinese model.
I agree..
I hate the camera hanging around waiting for tears.
Totally agree!
@@shngain100 lmao
DPRK doesn’t have “little internal support”
DPRK pushes their athletes as far as they can, since sports is very important for a country’s image. They’re fully state-supported and actually very well off if they win medals in the Olympics.
So happy for Giulia. She's essentially been the only Swiss competitor on the world stage for her entire career, to be able to win an Olympic medal is incredible
Myerk Lamb she earned every drop of that medal
KennyDreadfuls - I’m glad she did so well. I agree that she earned it.
I felt she should have been awarded the silver infact!
A pontuação da Russa não foi justa...em câmera lenta da pra ver perfeitamente...a Giulia saltou muito melhor e merecia incontestavelmente a medalha de prata!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oksana from Uzbekistan is a legend.
Holy cow! She was 41 in this competition.
Strawberry Shortcake - She’s competing in 2021 at 46. I would like to see her do very well. I was rooting for Chellsie who is considered a bit old, and probably won’t make the US team, but Chuso is , like Maxim100 says, Legend. It would be unreal to see her win another medal.
I don't know how the judges give point but I think Canada and Uzbekistan was g8ven also vry good performance how could they came at 2nd last and last
@@maureenkelly738if she conditions and trains enough, Chelsie's beam can outperform most of the US WAG lineups.
@@99Psyc - I’m impressed with her beam routine, which I agree is first rate and can compete or surpass most if not all competitors. Right now she’s not competitive in the other events. Or did I miss something? Are the trials in May? If so, she only has 7 months to get 3 other routines down. Would love to see her have at least a 5.8 or higher vault, at least a 6.2 UB and a 6.1 on FX.
Personally, I would be very happy if she did well at the trials and in joyous disbelief if she actually makes the team.
UGH. I feel so bad for Dipa. She should've gotten bronze. Paseka's form is so bad in the air and she basically straddled the vault table. I have no idea why they keep overscoring her. She definitely shouldn't have gotten bronze in 2012 either.
Oksana amazing performance in her age 42 years old just wow 👌
💜👏👏
❤️
Dipa’s first vault was underscored. The Russian was over scored on her first
The way the gymnasts smile right before they're introduced, then go right back into their game face, is always funny and chilling at the same time. Who decided that they needed to smile? They're concentrating on doing the physically hardest things anyone can imagine - they don't need to concentrate on looking pretty.
This reminds me of that one video of Simone Biles on dancing with the stars, where the judge tells her obnoxiously that she should smile more and she shuts him off with "smiling doesn't win you gold medals"
This is something that I’ve never noticed before. Very interesting point. Thank you for pointing it out!
I don't' think it's about looking pretty, they are presenting to the judges, I feel like presenting with a stone cold face would be just as weird. Presenting to the judges lets them know she/he is ready.
I dont know if its a rule but on the contrary, i haven't seen svetlana khorkina smile when saluting the judges to start her routines while many of her contemporaries do so otherwise. I think it's just a personal reference of the gymnast to smile or not.
Sad that Dipa finished in 4th place :( . The scoring was fair enough; not gonna complain; but as an Indian who has been a big fan of gymnastics, I cried after Dipa finished in 4th place. Was so happy for Giulia! Would have been cool if Giulia had medalled in floor too!
Karthik Viswanathan i guess gymnastics is still a young sport in India. But there’s a promise in the Indian program and talent, and that’s a bright spot.
Karthik Viswanathan I absolutely admire Dipa, strength and perseverance....an incredible woman.
She could’ve won bronze for sure if they just didn’t over score Paseka. Those legs look bad tbh
@@phillipanthonytuazon ikr I don't understand why Paseka keeps getting medals. Her bronze in London 2012 was a travesty, her amanar was (and I'm not exaggerating) less than 2 1/4 of the way around, and it should have been downgraded to a DTY.
JGSHEW I know!! They were so harsh on Hong Un Jong when she did the triple twisting yurchenko and didn’t get the third twist around but for Paseka... whew I don’t know if the judges are biased or just blind
It’s so much fun watching this as if you were there in real time and not on NBC with the commentators and commercial breaks and stuff!
Ikr!
I def do not miss Daggett or Elfie's negative and annoying comments
No matter what position Dipa ended up in, she almost singlehandedly made every upcoming generation in India want to explore gymnastics. Really proud of her ❤
Yes ❤❤❤
When people say Simone gets over scored I have to completely disagree, her form in the air is so amazing, no one vaults like her 😍
Folks also aren't appreciating how much more difficult her vaults are.
Bye artistry tho
@@brunabarrancos574 How can you have artristry in vault? :v hahaha i know in other cathegories like floor or beam but vault??? xDDD
@@brunabarrancos574 how do you have artistry in vault? It's the only event that isn't a routine. It's all about form.
Ya it's easy to tell how much better her form is when you watch 7 girls go before her. She's in a league of her own.
Loved watching Simone poke Maria 3 times before she finally noticed 😂
I was looking for this comment 😂
Dipa u have made all Indians proud, so proud of ur efforts, dedication and this tremendous feat of finishing 4th in an Olympics finals, absolutely no words to describe ur achievements, god bless sister. 🙏🙏🙏
impossible how they can't see paseka's leg separation
she full on has a straddle position
I think Dipa was better
@@MA-yu2ss DEFINITELY
Seriously, I was shocked how they gave her more points than Dipa.
It was only a 0.3 calm down sheep
Simon congratulating all the competitors. She looks such a nice person.
Can't wait to see simone biles making history again in Tokyo.
What about corona?
caramelxepresso I hope the next year everything gets better, so we can see all this amazing athletes in Tokio 2021!
Corona : hai i m here!
Yeah me to!
ahhh so excited!! usa is gonna dominate
ill NEVER understand how the Russian girl finished in second place....that was the sloppiest vault ive EVER seen!!!!
Do you even know the COP ?
that’s what i’m saying💀💀 dipa should have taken her place
Russia pays more 🤷🏼♀️
it’s only because the judges can’t see her HORRIFIC form from their angle. She’s won so many medals that she shouldn’t have.
It's because she performs difficult high start value vaults, and all the other gymnasts had significant mistakes. They should fix the scoring in this sport, because sloppy difficult elements can score better than perfectly executed easier elements. Why not balance these aspects?
God. Simones cheng is like a freaking work of art
Fantastic...India....my heart melted. I don't care the position but Keep doing your best.
Simone literally blocks and hangs on the air for a second before she twists. It's incredible. Mostly you see them twisting when they're still on the table.
I love the crowd's reaction when Simone is introduced.
49:09 Canadian coach trying his hardest not to fangirl all over Simone 😂
Yeaaa
Omg 😂
I can't wait to see Simone making history right here in my country!
Where is it?
Are you from japan?
Japan?
Paseka first vault deserve a low score just for the form of her body on the table (legs apart)
Fool,so what about her second vualt,u just full of hate ,but get this, d Russian will keep wining
@@ezehrichard4200 so it's normal for you? not fair
@@romain77200 ,why judge, did she score her self,or are u better than d Judges, pls stop dat trash
@@ezehrichard4200 it's not about trash or something...her body on table is horrible but landing great, it's just normal to be surprised

Deepa's Second Round was Mind blowing!!!!
Proud of you Dipa❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Guilia should be in Silver. 🤔
Agree! Julia Silver, Dipa Bronze. Paseka should not be more than 15.083 Very overscored!
totaĺly agree!
I agree!!
It restores my faith to see the sportsmanship and camaraderie demonstrated by these athletes. Considering this competition means the world to them, and the stakes are high, it's refreshing to see how well they get along with people they would have only known for a few days
It hurts my soul to watch Paseka vault.
Why?
@@Allan-mx3ez Because her form is awful and it is scary to watch because it looks like she is going to get seriously injured, thank god she hasn't. However, she does have back issues which explains some of it.
@@Allan-mx3ez she is such a lovely gymnast and her leg separation and other errors makes it hard to watch.
Mad respect for Oksana still throwing Prudonovas at her SEVENTH olympics
This Olympic channel is coming thru with these videos with no commentary I can get used to this
As a certified stan of Russian gymnastics, I can say I've had enough of Paseka's nonsensical vaults. I'm done!
😭😭
😂😂😂😂😭😭😭
Is she the older gymnast? Can’t believe she is still going.
@@jnoyes8180 nah that's Oksana
They seriously overscored the Russian
I love Paseka but yeah
Really OVERSCORED her. But they always do tho.
Russians are generally overscored. At the 2015 worlds she should've gotten bronze at best, but yeah... We all know how that went
@@eboniestevenson231 get out, u such a hateful soul, u speak trash about gals who has train there whole life,u can't even do a spilt here u are talking trash
Ezeh Richard she is not, she is right. Paseka has terrible form, she only gets the medals because she can land them, barely. But her form in the air is absolute garbage. Steingruber deserved that Silver.
48:06 Idk why I laughed so hard when she poked her in the back 😭😂
Simone Biles to be the second woman in gymnastics history to defend her vault title behind the Great Vera Caslavska. Only two gymnasts ever to do this!! Go Simone! Make more history!! ❤️
And Vera basically did a front handspring vault lol
This was Simones first olympic vault title. Before this she'd only ever gotten silver and bronze at worlds. She didnt win a world vault title until 2018, which is seperate from olympic titles but still basically the same but not counted as defending her title. She will attempt to defend her vault title in tokyo.
Sasha Andersen lol
Sasha Andersen like I said...Simone Biles “to be...” I never said she won 2 titles lol she’s only been to 1 Olympics
len jimenez she didn’t defend a title on vault ???
Paseka (Russian) was so over scored.... her vaults were not good enough for top 3.. In my opinion... ://
Dipa vault was better than her I felt.. At least the first 1..Paseka was almost going to fall in the 2nd vault
Agreed
Thank you!!! Dipa was well better than she was but hey hoo.
oksana my gosh 7th okympic games and again vault finalist. just amazing longevity. what an exemple.
Yessss can’t wait! This is my favorite vault final for all the variety in not just the vaults, but the athletes as well! So proud of Karmakar and Chusovitina especially!
Sis is 41 .... ohh my.. I'm so proud of her
I love that chusovitina got her moment
Oksana really had me amazed! She was 41 at the time of this, that in itself is a major accomplishment. Well, I think so anyway.
i cry everytime i see this ovation for oksana
hong had the potential to hold on to that triple twisting yurchenko. really good effort
Yap ,but still under rotate ,im pretty sure if simone want to ,she could do that ,
Yes she is very strong gymnast. She was olympic champion 2008 on vault
If she tried it on competition is because she had definitely landed it in training, so... very impressive. I guess going for a ridiculously high difficulty was her only chance to win the gold because with the same difficulty than simone , simone was going to win due to height.
Can’t wait for the Tokyo Olympics!
Next year
TreyParkersBitch yup
Thank you for this, Olympic Channel! Please upload the floor final too
This can be the last olympics where we saw Produnova vault. Both Dipa and Oksana wouldn't get credited for it according to new code of points.
Unless they land it, which is unlikely. Dips needs to practice on upgraded equipment. Anyone know if she still has to work with makeshift?
@@maureenkelly738 no, there's actually a more developed and nearly world class gym in New Delhi now. Still the fundings for gymnastics is too less compared to other sports, so it's still a long way for an Indian gymnast to medal at the Olympics.
Amei, sensacionali, que pena que passou a premiação, mais foi muito bom relembrar, Simone Biles é demais, essa menina não tem limites, maravilhosa
Since when did the Olympics start having a commentator in the arena? How annoying would that be??
It's super common on smaller level meets, and semi common in elites. This one is just SUUUUPPPEER "chatty"?- and YES- crazy annoying !!
They just didn't want India to win here lmao

Recently I did a black flip for the first time. I feel proud😎
Meanwhile,
Simon biles : 😂😂😂
No one vaults like Mc Kayla Maroney did in London...
OMG, Paseka’s 1st vault was hideous @@
So you’ve got Oksana vaulting at 41, and then right after the Chinese competitor who straight up looks like a 10-year-old 😂 No hate, she did amazing!
Yeah, to be honest.... I dont think she was 16. Gymnasts can be very short but such a baby face...Well. who knows
Oksana with her performance and age just amazes me.
Segundo salto da Simone eu tô chocada. Perfeito
My girl Simon Biles! Best in the WORLD!
The most touching part is WHEN THE COACH OF THE CANADA CONGRATS HER AND HUGGED HER
That cheer for Oksana
Dipa made us proud
Delighted to see Dipa's produnova vault
So the Swiss girl not winning silver came down to difficulty? Her vaults were so pretty and controlled! I feel like the difficulty in keeping form should matter more than throwing ugly vaults with no form regardless of how many twists are involved.
watch ballet if you want pretty
Well paseka's vault should ideally have been downgraded because of pike position and also her amanar looked less like 2½ and more like a 2¼.
@@azieldaly2965 then going on difficulty, Dipa Karmakar should've won over Paseka. Even with execution, Dipa should've scored higher than Paseka.
Floor final, please!!!!
True, I also wanted to see the floor finals. I hope they post it :)
También pongan la ceremonia de premiacion, me gusta mucho ver los rostros de los deportistas al recibir su medalla
Oskana on her phone @34:01 is such a mood
Please post full replays of the men’s apparatus finals as well! Thank you!
No disrespect to her but Paseka scored a lot higher than I was expecting considering how much leg separation there was.
Just looking this videos a 100th time, truthfully Simone is such a wonderful person
Olimpiada de Rio melhor de todas 💛💛
I'm a gymnast and Vaulting is my absolute fav and I'm supposed to be the best in our group and they're doing really incredible things which I can't even imagine ever doing
Missed "Dipa Karmakar" in Tokyo Olympics 2021...She is really an inspiration for all of us, she has gone through a lot of struggle and became India's 1st ever woman gymnast.. Huge Respect for everyone 🙏
Really 😭
Simone is literally amazing
🐐
Ummmm HOW did Paseka score so well??!! I am totally confused, cause her vaults were awful.
honestly!
Prob because of difficult level. I agree tho
Oksana just had too much forward momentum. I feel like she could’ve landed it if not for that.
I'm in awe of these amazing women
Absolutely wheezing at 48:05, Simone trying to get Maria's attention while poking her in the back, that looks so funny.
She makes it look so easy
So happy for Dipa......The Indian blood is what that make her so flexible 🥰🥰
Susi Susanti - Gold Badminton Barcelona 1992, please @Olympic
Paseka getting silver is a joke. So sloppy. Karmakar or Steingruber should have been there IMO.
Could you post the floor final too?

Waiting for the Vault finals of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics!
It is clearly visible that the Russian girl was overscored. She didn't deserved 2nd place.
I think Dipa's second vault was way more difficult and clear..... She deserved medal.........
Ok, seriously, can we EVER see the judges looking even mildly happy?! (This goes for ANY & EVERY sport!) Yes. We get that you have a pretty "serious job" to do... Particularly at the OLYMPICS!! but, come on- do they ALL ALWAYS have to look like they just hate their lives & need a nap & a cookie?! This is EXCITING!!! Why do they always have to look like they're picking out the finish for their parents coffins?! Do they need a raise maybe....?! SOMETHING?! A ghost of a smile even, puuHLEAASE, judges?!
the paseka jump made my eyes bleed, the funny thing is that she really thought she made a good jump.
I'm so excited!
Até agora não vi a final do solo, vcs não tem?
19:25 cracks me up every time 😸 Not sure I've ever heard anyone 'grunt' during vault in the women's competitions. Nice hehehe
Dipa was underscored and Paseka’s form on that first vault was horrible
Any chance of the mens apparatus finals from Rio?
She may have missed the podium but her Leo won GOLD IN MY HEART!
Who
Amazing vaulting and what luck to be last although she didn't need it.
