Let's talk about the Venezuelan gymnast's expression on her face after she finished her routine. She was the winner for me.

And she performed the second most difficult routine of the entire final. She's amazing

It's so great that while they can't understand each other's languages, they still try to communicate with each other.
They stay in touch via social media!! I know Simone hosted Melanie from France at her gym in Texas and Melanie says it definitely boosted her confidence. I love the difference now vs even 10 years ago when team mates barely even spoke to each other and now everyone cheers everyone on. I'll also add that regardless of what nation a competitor is representing, if Simone is nearby you can always hear her cheering. A true champion!
A lot of them do actually speak English to some degree.

Aliya's gold medal winning performance on bars was the best thing that happened in Rio 2016.
Mustafina winning by less than 3 hundredth of a point was so incredible to see. Madison Kocian had a fantastic routine. And the margin of her win was less than the difference between her difficulty and Madison's of 6.8 and 6.7 respectfully.
she basically did ctrl c + ctrl v with Mustafina's routine lol. I believe that if she had done a one and a half twist double somersault instead of just a full twist, she could've won.
@@Fvhlipe Possibly you are correct. Both girls had nothing to be sorry for though. I still hate the rule fir not allowing ties though. Bringing it down to hundredth of percentage points is too brutal. IMO.
@@Fvhlipeidk one of madison handstands was off, that possibly could have been the difference. But they were both so great
Which was overscored. Her dismount was bad with the feet wide apart and her Komova was a Maloney, her in-bars were also basically toe-ons. Completely overscored on execution and her skills should be devalued or very deducted

Being from the USA I’ll always be Team U.S however one can’t deny the effortless talent of Aliya Mustafina on bars! Absolutely amazing to win back to back Gold at the Olympics. Well deserved 👑🏅🏅

Why is no one talking about the Venezuelan gymnast Jessica Brizeida? She was awesome!!!
She has some form breaks, leg separations almost all the time it is more notorious in her pak salto. But the dismount was lovely with no cowboyed legs and that is impressive
Her form is just up to par with these other UB finalists. I'm not saying she can't be, just that her form needs work

I think you are dreaming dude! Aliya is coaching. Bars has moved on and her 2016 routine would struggle to make the final. But, her in bars and connected pak/shap and Tweddle's Tweddle, ezhova, maloney have moved bars to the next level. Both have had a massive influence on UB.
@@alexkaitlinthomas that's literally what everyone and their mothers said in 2015 to Rio - Aliya won't return, she won't make the Olympics, her routine won't beat Maddie, yadda yadda yadda. And? She did all of that. Moral of the story is never ever underestimate Aliya, Queen of the Universe.
All fanboying aside, yeah I know she's coaching now, but she never said she's retired and to me that's good enough - if one day she decided to come back I'll be there ❤️

I know the situation is very tough now, but I hope Tokyo Olympics can go on as planned. I don't want to be the person to criticize those who put in the hard work to prepare the games.
Can you imagine the poor athletes who planned their whole life for the Olympic games. Planning routines, trying to peak at just the right time and having it delayed not just one time but for a whole year? Then retraining, trying to plan on repeaking and have it possibly postponed or worse, cancelled permanently? I wouldn't want to be the one to tell them. There's no way most of these gymnasts will be able to hang on physically till 2024 as top athletes in their field.
@@donaldholderdoc2910 Except Japan said like months ago that they wouldn’t postpone the Games again let alone cancel them. As security measure, they won’t let foreign public (at first they had planned to not have public at all, but then the situation in the country got much better) in the stadiums and facilities - but japanese people can.
my personal opinion, Elizabeth Seitz was so underscored! she should've at least got the bronze medal

ok but like someone needs to explain to me how madison kocian got 9.133 in execution and had a better execution score than aliya and chungson gets 8.733???? how? madison should have had so many leg seperation deductions when chungsons legs were glued together and she only had a few handstand position alignments

@@maia9056 it infuriates me to think how on earth did Kocian managed to score the same E score as Komova. That ugly landing alone should've kept her far far away from the podium, ugh.
Anyway that dumb UB Worlds final should've gone Komova gold, Fan silver and Spiri bronze.
The judges were out to get the Chinese. The fact that Fan Yilin got a lower UB execution score than Raisman... 😬 Also, the judges were a lot harsher to the Chinese and Japanese in terms of artistry deductions when really, they're some of the best. There was definitely some bias going on.

Aliya the Queen, the most elegant gymnast of this century, she had no equal on that day in 2016, what a pity that she didn’t make it to Tokyo, because the final there was boring without her. With all due respect to Nina, but Aliya is a different level of gymnastics, we will miss the queen.

@@adrianj.k.4032 IKR. She should have medalled or come closer to medalling on the vault and floor.
I don't think Murakami was underscored, because her first two landings were really low, so bug deductions, and she also fell of her double wolf turn. I agree that Wan Yang was underscored, chinese gymnasts were really underscored this olympics (see Chunsong aa beam and aa final result), and I also think that Tinkler deserved a little more deductions

You "do" realize Kocian qualified higher than Musty in the qualifications? Doesn't mean Kocian is better, but means she was better that day. She was THE highest qualifier. That isn't any blonde American favoritism bullshit but her skill level and execution. Madison also floated through her UB's. Say American favoritism all you want but USA qualified TEN FULL POINTS about Russia in the TF and a full EIGHT POINTS in the team finals. Not tenths as is historically the case in this sport but FULL POINTS. MEANING THEY NEEDED NO FAVORITISM. THEY WERE JUST SO MUCH FREAKING BETTER AND THAT FAR AHEAD OF THE REST OF THE WORLD... GET READY FOR TOKYO REPEAT 💪💪🇺🇲🇺🇲
