Max Slade was the star of the entire 3 ninjas series. By far the most charismatic actor, like the Raf of the ninja turtjes
Max does almost no interviews so this was a surprise. He sounds so shy and adorable and I love his short answers. I'm the same way. Wish he would get into acting again.
I was just as surprised when he agreed so it was a huge honor to have him on!. Thanks for tuning in!
@@LosSanchez84 Colt my favorite he was tuff miss Slade wish he could have been in chuck Norris Texas ranger I didn't know 3 ninjas my mom told me 2004 HBO family I watched the mess out of it I used to take karate I quit due to medical issues Slade Colt character remember chuck went against Bruce Lee your pretty good Not! 😄
@@LosSanchez84 hi can u pls ask him to play act again with micheal treadnor and chad power pls
MAX , These movies MADE my childhood What it was . Imagine the three of you guys coming back and making a adult version for the kids who grew up .
It should be them with kids and the kids getting up to mischief and fighting there way out of it
I'm watching 3ninjas Right now.
Max Slade. I'm a big Fan #90sKid
I'm turning 30 this year!! Yeah lol
COLT was my childhood hero. I wanted to be like him so bad.
This film needs a Blu-ray release
All 3 of them I need that!!!
I would love to see 3 Ninjas as a series on Netflix
Glorious Waifu 89 Victor Wong wouldn’t be in it plus who would be in it
I could see something like Rocky and Tum Tum opening a karate studio while Colt is the loner in MMA and they have to group back together to save Grandpa's house from the Bullies in the first film! LOL! Just a quick draft!
@@LosSanchez84 Great pitch haha! Really nice interview you did here, I'm glad I found it! :)
It's on Hulu now
@@Dropkickurteacher Victor Wong wouldnt need to be there. Cobra Kai is doing fine without Pat Morita, just the casual flashback or even "ghostly voice" would be enough. "The eyes boys! Remember the eyes!"
A long awaited interview from my childhood icon, my life is complete 😊👍
I was 8 with two younger brothers (6 and 4 years old) when 3 Ninjas came out. It quickly became our favorite movie. Since then, I’ve seen it so many times that I could recite it word for word easily.
I wanted to meet them so badly back then that my favorite dreams involved meeting them. I’d be on a natural high for days after having a dream where I met THE 3 Ninjas.
When the internet came out one of the first things I did was to try and find out how they were doing. All 3 of them are very elusive when it comes to an online presence. Seeing that Max agreed to a podcast made my whole week. Thanks guys!
Happy birthday Max... 40 years... July 4, 1980.
One of my favourite movies as a kid....and I just enjoyed watching the trilogy with my 7 year old daughter in 2021 for her first time. Doesn't get much better than that!
I just finished watching 3 Ninjas! Still a fan!
Fucking classic
I really really enjoyed this. Colt was without a doubt the coolest ninja and Max played him perfectly! He was super badass and yet very charming. Say what you want about the interviewer but he was the right guy to do this interview considering how big of a fan and nerd he is lol I agree he talked too much but I'm sure he was nervous. I would be if I interviewed Max. Thank you so much for this, I loved it. Colt was a big part of my childhood and he will always be an inspiration to me.
Thanks for listening! Yeah, I was a bit nervous and tend to ramble but glad you enjoyed the podcast none the less. Hoping to have the other 3 Ninjas on soon!
@@LosSanchez84 I know that the original Rocky Michael Treanor is working as a psychologist now. It would be really cool if you could do an interview with him and Chad Power. Colt (Max Slade was my favorite)
I went back to Re watch Knuckle Up, and yes Rocky does have braces in and out of certain scenes. The egg scene, slow motion on Rocky and you can see it clearly.
Nice catch!
No way! Awesome. Colt was my favorite one and he was in all of them too
I know, right!! Colt was my favorite because he reminded me of Raphael from TMNT and Max agreed he felt the same way! Awesome stuff!
I was always Colt when my and my cousin played 3 ninjas, even though im the oldest. FAST, FREE, SPIRIT OF THE YOUNG WILD HORSE!!
Did you rock a sweet bowl cut like Colt too! Better for aerodynamics!
Arhok21 I was always Rocky when I played with mine 😁
As a 7 year old, I was obsessed with 3 ninjas.
I was colt and my two neighbors were rocky and tum tum.
I have a 4 year old daughter and I can't wait to watch 3 ninjas together.
Ayyaaa
lol I always related to Colt as well.
MAX SLADE IS KING ALL HAIL MAX
You have to interview Rocky and Tum Tum
My son and I love love love 3 ninjas. Original is best and I like knuckle up because it’s the same cast and had more action. But since watching all of them with my son I have an appreciation for all of them. Colt, being my favorite character, was the only consistent actor throughout the 4 movies. Love Max Slade. Glad I found this. Thanks for posting it. ❤️
He has such a nice voice 🥰
This interview made my heart so happy .
I love Max 🥰❤️
1:30 am and I'm supposed to be asleep but instead I found this awesome interview of my childhood favvvvv. So randommmmm and awesome! P.S. Colt was my fav when I was a kid and I had a huge crush on him and Rocky!😄
Me too!!
Max Slade sounds like an action hero name, now this interview happened before Cobra Kai was released and was a success.
And seeing that SONY owns 3 Ninjas & everyone is desperate for streaming content & probably another Cobra Kai, a 3 Ninjas series would be perfect.
Colt is my favorite 3 ninja ever my favorite 1 is knuckle up
You and me both Cake Eater!
Ayy knuckle up was everybodies fav an what I like about knuckle up was the fact that they focus on colt alot as the main star it was perfect
I was always Tum Tum when I played with my cousins when imagined ourselves as the 3 ninjas but I loved Colt and always admired him. Plus he was wearing my favorite color lol
As a kid he looked like Jamie Lee Curtis...but definitely was crushing hard on him back in the day
Lol STUPID
@@jordantorres7598maybe your mother for having you but I always made smart decisions
He does look like jamie lee Curtis loo
We need more 3 ninjas stuff!
I gotta say, this was a really classy Interview. Usually these types of things get awkward but you always knew what you were talking about, didn't ask him ridiculous questions and you made him feel at ease. Can't wait to listen to your other shows!
Sorry for the late reply but thank you for the kind words! It was easy asking all those questions I literally wanted to know my whole life watching all 3 Ninja movies growing up. Glad everyone is enjoying the episode!
Interviewer is a little amateurish, but you can tell he's a big fan and you have to start somewhere. Some good questions and some more dorky ones mixed in with some rambling. Sometimes he would start to talk or inadvertently cut Max off before he was done. Max sounds like a nice guy, but not a great interview either. He didn't want to elaborate on answers much and just answered the question too directly. Overall was nice to hear some behind the scenes information. Thanks for sharing.
this dude could have done so much with his acting career
I loveeeeee 3 ninjas. I got that movie now on dvd 📀. I bought it like 3 months ago. This was my childhood
Wonder what it would take to get these guys back together for a darker gritty reunion on screen. Using the lessons they learned from their grandfather..maybe even one of them could be in with a shady group of ninjas like the ones with the baddie from the first one, the concepts and possibilities are endless. Out of all the titles to get the resurrection treatment, this one would be very welcome.
The reason 3 Ninjas Kick back came out before 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up is because 3 Ninjas and 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up were filmed back to back but because of Distribution issues, Knuckle Up was put on the shelf. Since 3 Ninjas was a hit movie, the studio wanted to capitalize on ot with a sequel. The actor who played Rocky quit acting and Tum Tum actor was filming a tv show
Can we get a virtual 3 Ninjas panel cast reunion together?
Victor Wong is dead though?
yeah what happened to rockyyyy
Wow..😍😍 amazing interview..I found out just now.. I was a huge fan of Max when I was a kid..I still adore him..I really loved the character of colt as hot headed yet charming..he was/is still my favourite ninja..Felt so happy to hear his interview after long time..I love 3 ninjas movies((all franchise))
Much love❤❤😊😊
Awesome interview! I’m a 80’s baby and 3 ninjas was part of my childhood. Was one of my favorite movies as a kid. You asked some great questions too. Thank you for this!
Grandpa's cabin should be an AirBNB
I'd rent it indefinitely! Free Karate lessons for all!
when i make my rpg/fighting game hybrid i want max to be one of the many people to play it
Glad its on Hulu now
i wish it was on a special edition Blu-ray
With cool extras with the Actors
One of the best movies from
My childhood. this and surf ninjas
a good rough draft for a reboot or revival series would be to have Max Eliot Slade be the Grandpa now.
He gets married to an Asian woman, has a daughter, the daughter marries an Asian man and have 3 boys.
Then just go from there.
This is awesome! First one is first for me too then knuckle up as well.
Damn I love this
I'm a little late but thank you for this. You did a good job...max seems like a humble dude that just happened to film a kids 90s cult classic.✌️
Thank you for doing this 🙌🏽
I saw 3 ninjas knuckle up dubbed in Spanish and my brain was so confused hearing a older voice for colt but watched it anyway as it’s my favorite movie besides the first
childhood classic love the interview
ALL HAIL MAX
Nice interview!! The host is a complete dork. He didn’t let max talk much.
He's such a great guy and I admire him so much he is a great role model in life. He is one of my role models hope too run into him one day..
Oh damn I always treated kick back as the third one just seeing their age. No wonder I always liked the first and third the best. Second ***
I always felt like Colt was the coolest brother. Like they talked about, he was the Raphael of the group. I watched the first movie and Knuckle Up many many times growing up.
Hey Carlos. I'm from Brazil and when i was a kid in 90's 3 Ninjas was my first movie at all. Thanks so much for doing this job, please don't stop. I'm always looking for 3 ninjas stuff and accidentally i'm here. I don't know if you are planning to interview other actors and actress from the movie but MYO (Caroline Junko King) has an easy page on facebook, i chat with her some months ago and until know i didn't believe that she answered me (Fan stuff ahahahah).
Rocky loves Emily...Rocky loves Emily!!
Thanks for this
He should've guest starred in 90s shows like Friends after 3 ninjas.
star- Ray Wait a minute...I’m confused, did he actually appear on shows and I missed it or are you wishing he’d done those shows???
@@LosSanchez84 no ol.though he kinda left acting sooner
love this dude man!!!
Thanks for listening!
Not many people know that knuckle up was filmed right after the first one, that's why it's the original cast again. Something about the production made them do kick back and release that as the second.
I know right! But the thing is that I watched the order as 3 Ninjas, 3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up, and then 3 Ninjas: Kick Back😂
Knuckle Up was filmed in April-May 1992. The reason why it wasn’t released until 1995 is because Disney lost the distribution rights to Sony in 1993 of the remaining two films, thus Rocky & Tum Tum were recast.
Wel this was / is my hero😂
Ditto! Was truly an honor to have him on!
AAAHHH! This s awesome!
The second one is the best.
I'm watching 3 ninjas right now May Elliot Slade still my crush
It turned 30 4 days ago, any chance u can get 1 of the other 2 on here to also speak about their experiences?
Huge kudos 😁👍🏼 that's where I got my nickname from, I spell mines with a K thought..new subscriber
I totally wanna hear his music
is there any video of this? i wanna see his face again 😭 it makes me so sad knowing that there's no any interviews abt him, especially the 3 of them ☹️
He could play Johnny Cage now.
I’ve been a professional musician for 7 years gigging 5-6 nights a week whilst on college and even when I started my first job. And damn… it’s not fun! I guess when you are bigger than us and have a crew but we had to lug our own stuff around from festival to festival, sometimes 2 or 3 gigs on a summer day. And you play the same stuff over and over again as nausseum.
We once opened for Golden Earring and by then they were playing Radar Love for 23 years I couldn’t see myself doing that 😂I loved session work.
53:10 Another 3 Ninjas in the works? For those that may not have listened to the whole interview Max was contacted by the producer about a possible sequel. Though this video was posted exactly 3 years ago, so don't hold your breath.
4 years ago now :(
my favorite moving growing up
Why chad power did not return in 3 ninjas high noon at mega mountain
He wasn't in 3 Ninjas kick back either.
Colt's gonna kiss Jo, Colt's gonna kiss Jo!
It’s so weird because I remember having this movie on vhs
Was it the yellow VHS? I remember that one always standing out among the rest on the shelf!
Be Kind and Rewind Podcast I think it was the purple 90s vibe looking one
Quinn Haverkamp I remember the tag line on the VHS cover saying “Crosses TMNT and Home Alone”...pandering much? It worked! LOL
@@LosSanchez84 knuckle up!!!!!
Do any of y’all know. What Max is up too now? I’m not on any social media platforms. Is he still alive? I know that sounds like a horrible question.
Ik I wanna know why he's just completely pushed away everything and lives a quiet life without keeping his fans updated cause ik he loves his fans but I wanna know why he basically pushes his acting career as if it never happened and making it seem like he didn't like it or something
Wow great 2daughter and 1son that right . Max now grandpa and you did married .his 3 children. That great.
Mike wishes he can do it like max MIKE OLASKY COULD NEVER
What does he feel about Mike o laskey replacing him as colt
Imagine if they met ralph macchio and willaim zabka
The part where they lose and rocky beats up the bully aired on Disney that was the one I was watching
Think that was a deleted scene because it was never in the movie we had.
Carlos, congrats on this interview. BUT. You need to learn to design the interview so that your guest talks more and you talk less. I get it, you were REAAAAAAALLLLLY excited. Tone it down, be cool, ask better questions that he can give a longer response to. Take less Adderall. Again, congrats on getting the interview.
Carlos what happened to the podcast? Did you stop doing it?
Did he mention why he wasn't in 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain? Or does anyone know why?
49:15 He mentioned he quit acting as a teenager. Considering High Noon had the largest gap compared to the other sequels, he likely quit before they started filming.
52:35 He does mention he "would be open to acting again". Even said that there was a possibility for another 3 Ninjas movie in the works. Keep in mind this interview was posted in 2017 and 3 years have passed. Likely it never materialized or if there was a story/script pitched to a production company they didn't want to fund it.
Wow amazing tho😅
Thanks for listening!
colt is my favoriote in 3 ninjas 3 ninjas Kunkle up is the best and I am in karate
What are your thoughts on Kick Back???
@@LosSanchez84 i loved kickback. My only gripe was that Michael Treanor and Chad Power didn't return. If they had been in it, kickback would have been the best one
howd you find him to do this?!
Mondre Stokes Max’s Twitter
PLEASE MAKE A NEW ONE!!!!!!!!!!
2020 Peeps where you at? 🙌 Loved this interview! Just made a comedy commentary on the original 3 Ninjas 😂Hope y'all enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/mu8yxtXK_eA/v-deo.html
I didn’t realise how many 3 Ninja films. I remember the original but I didn’t know they did something like three or four almost every year from 92-94 was it?
They certainly milked the franchise.
First three were all great.
Apollo 13, Parenthood movie and series with a young Leo and 3 Ninjas.
Colt is my favorite character in all the 3 Ninjas movie except high noon no offense to that guy but max is colt
max >
One of my favorite movies as a kid. Watching it again, I would of left out some of the childish music and antics. They should of made it a pg13 movie. Would of been a bigger hit.
Mistah J not necessarily. Parents would’ve been turned off sending their elementary age kids to see the film. Though the cartoony side affects are silly, they were needed to tone down the film to make it PG and that more tickets could be sold.
Kimberly Jacques ya ticket sales in mind, pg can seem more inclusive. But the movie was not a box office smash. I think it would of gained cult status if it was pg13. In the long run. If some of the kids used curse words and some bad guys were killed in the film. Like we would all enjoy it even more if it had been more intense. Pg13 isn't rated R so it would be bearable
Mistah J according to IMDb, the budget was (estimated) $6,500,000 and it made over $29,000,000. That’s considered to be a box office success and it is already a cult classic. 😊
Mistah J also, profanity wouldn’t have helped. If anything, it would’ve hurt the film’s success. Keep in mind that these were kids/preteens, not adults where the occasional swear word might show up in a martial arts movie.
Kimberly Jacques it was a success. I know. But not a smash hit. And it isn't a cult status film. A cult film would be the lost boys. there's no huge following of 3 ninjas. I like the film but most movie buffs don't even know the film. It's as obscure as Surf Ninjas
Buenas cómo va
How did you get him to do this interview!?
I wanna know that too cause he doesn't do any interviews
I actually watched high noon it wasn’t a bad movie but it wasn’t the same the fighting was good tho
Had such a huge crush on him as a kid, kind of disappointed he didn't do much after. He sounds bored in this interview, might be that he's over the whole acting experience but I wonder why he agreed to do this in the first place. Nothing against the host, you tried your best!
Thank you! Max was my favorite of the 3 Ninjas so I was just happy he agreed and was pretty engaging. Hopefully we can get some other 3 Ninjas on the podcast soon! Thanks for listening!
@@LosSanchez84 You should ask Chad (Tum Tum) he follows me on Instagram and seems like a nice guy that is very close to his fam.
Me too bro 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If it were up to me I would definitely not have the Pitcher and catcher getting the better of Colt in 3 Ninjas Kick Back Colt should've been able to make mince-meat out of them. Other than that, classics that can't be touched.
So cute voice so cute guy
agree with u bro
Jesse Hathaway thanks bro
+Wayett Hathaway Welcome bro
Smh
Are you a BL?
Max was the love of my 13 year old selfs life… sighhhh
