- Rolling burnout on a motorcycle - how to do it from Beginner to Intermediate | KNOX
Prior to finally changing my tyres, we had to take the opportunity to create this video on how to perform a rolling burnout or standing burnout on a motorcycle. Following on from our super popular video documenting my first go at a rolling burnout after a bit of Rick English inspiration, and after a bit of practice, hopefully, we move the game on a bit in this video and I share some tips on how to perform the stunt as well and safely as possible. To see the original video, please see • Rolling burnout motorc... .
As you can imagine, rolling burnouts are quite a bit harder than stationary burnouts and require much more control of your motorcycle, balance and quite a bit of practice to get it perfect. In this video, I lay out the right steps to get going and pretty much all of the safety considerations and hopefully you’ll find it helpful.
A couple of pointers, it was performed in our factory carpark and not on a public road, and Knox take no responsibility or liability for anyone attempting to do a rolling or standing burnout.
In this video, I was wearing the following:

Thanks,
Aaron

Tip: Practice this on your friend's motorcycle.
followed advise, no longer have friend
@@1WheelUp lol
Would it be better to try this on a brand new bike instead of a old one make sense new one got more power on the wheel
Lmaoo
Practice on a 250 always fun and cheap .
Another hint: if you can't afford to lose it. Don't do it. Fear will hold you back.
ive heard these are 1000% commitment
i have gap insurance lol
You are awesome man😍😍
I like how you figured out the sit down one during filming haha that's awesome 👌just got new rosso 3s so I'll wait until they're low lol
With the rosso 3s, that won't take long lol
KNOX releasing a tutorial on how to do rolling burnouts lmao love it
Haha love it 😎 got to try me some of that 😁
Perfect for the supermoto! 😎
Frick’n siiick, Bad ass mate!!
I've unintentionally done this on my 1984 Kawasaki GPZ 900R when pulling away from a traffic light as I gave it a bit too much throttle and felt I was unprepared to launch. For an old bike it puts out a lot of torque.
Sweet, but I won’t be doing this on my Indian Chief, but it does love going adventure bike terrain. Good control! 👍🏾
Very 😎
This is so cool but too afraid to risk it on my gsxr with bew fairing ))
Do u fully release the clutch when u got the tyres burning out? Sick tutorial 🔥
Yes ideally release the clutch fully, but be ready to pull it back in quickly if it starts to go a bit out of shape. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Nice! Loving these videos, keep up the great work 🙌
What’s the name of those motorcycle shoes/boots?
Do you hold the front break fully in or a teeny bit out to let the bike move?
Yes, you have to let it out a bit and control it on the front brake so the bike continues to move forward, otherwise it will just stop. :)
I find that the tire usually starts tearing in the middle when doing rolling burnouts.
Can you add the sizes you are wearing when you talk about the knox products?
Sure Dean. Wearing Large in the Urbane Pro Utility, medium gloves and 32" richmond mk2 jeans. Hope that helps! Aaron Knox
👍
How do you get it to do a high pitch tire squeal while doing it? Do you have to kind of build up enough power then release the clutch so that you take off full throttle while still burning out at full power, my bike has an9’inch stretch so it’s better for rolling burnouts
Yes you release the clutch 100% but can’t go 100% throttle without keep some front brake on
@@JayR305TheChosenOne if you hold pull the front brake in too much while giving it too much throttle I’m guessing the front wheel will be working too much against the power of the back wheel causing the front end to wash out from under you? Has to be the right amount of front brake right? Too little and won’t get enough burnout and too much you’ll crash i take it?
@ghuether0 the front break is easily strong enough to stop your bike even when you are standing and slowly increasing the throttle (hence, a normal burnout). Especially with all the weight put on the front, I doubt it is going to lose traction any time soon. What takes a lot of confidence and feeling is spinning your back wheel so fast, that it does not gain back traction when you start moving forward releasing the brake - cause then your bike either shuts off or goes flying on one wheel :D
I don't understand if I have to use the clutch ot just throttle and front break!
Just follow the instructions really. You have to sort of control a bit of the power with the clutch and be ready to snap it back in if it gets out of hand. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
How do you grab the brake and throttle down at the same time?
Just practice... Maybe try it first with the bike turned off to get the feeling. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
I use middle, ring and pinky finger on my brake. Then wrap my index and thumb on the throttle and twist
practice with putting the bike on neutral, rev the bike and find the sweet spot where your fingers can fully pull in the front bake lever while getting engine rev up to 70%. Also reckon starting with static burn before the rolling burn.
Haha! Never been abused! 😂😂 I think I might leave the rolling burnouts for now! I'm too afraid of dropping the first brand new bike I've ever bought! Though of course the video could go viral... 🤔
I have a question for you , is the engine displacement has to be higher
No, you can do this on almost any bike. Even done it on 125cc. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
I can smell the rubber ♥️
How much front brake pressure are you applying?
Just enough to hold it back. Thanks Aaron KNOX
Why does my bike always want to tilt over when I do rolling burnouts
Sweet bike
Needs midpipe and Racefit
Haha, I removed a race exhaust system. In the UK you cant ride on track with loud exhausts so I'm sticking with stock exhaust system. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
600 or 1000cc?
I burnt my clutch trying it, please can someone tell me what I did wrong?
Thanks!
Just drop the clutch a bit faster. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Is that GSXR 1000? What year model is it?
GSXR 750 k8. Thanks
I always hop off the pegs a little at the same time, like hop if u see what I mean
Good tip!
mine as abs can i still do that
Yes should be fine, just turn traction control off. 😀
Are you doing that on first gear?
Yes 1st gear. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
1:58
I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND
So these aren’t bad on tires??
Well yes, but perhaps not as bad as just a normal burnout... 😉
You put the stock exhaust back on? Lol why?
Hi, I put a standard exhaust back on because it gives better power and the ability to pass track day noise testing without a baffle in place. You can check out the results here if you are interested - ua-cam.com/video/KF0CGQ_6xTQ/v-deo.html. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
“Roll off the throttle” is another term. Just wanted to help so you don’t get caught up in the future ✊🏼
my only concern is about how much break are you applying it's not a full on death break grip at 100% is it?
Hi, no definitely not full break otherwise it would just stay stationary. Its takes a bit of practice to modulate the brake and throttle on this trick. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
What gear? 1st I assume
Yes always in 1st. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Frotel
Hahahaha😂you are very good at burnout but not sure about explaining tho.🤓
I'm trying to think of a reason why any one wants to do this
I learned how to burn out from your video I still can’t get the rolling burn out
Thanks!! It's about practice and keeping trying. Rolling ones definitely harder to do. Thanks Aaron Knox
one lady owner lol
umm uh uh um um uhu uhh basically um
We cannot accept any responsibility for the damage you do to your bike or your body when you stack it epically. #legalcover
After 5 minutes of rambling I shall search for a better video
This video just highlights why people don't like us motorcycle riders .
It is on private land... :)
Still anti social .
@@KnoxArmour ... And you think the people inspired by this video will use private
land also ?? ... Sorry but that's a lame reply to a very fair and warranted criticism .
@@WyreForestBiker shut up let people have fun with their bikes
@@WyreForestBiker Well aren't you both just the fun police.
First of all, why would anyone want to do that? 🤨
