DIY All Plywood Floating Shelves with NO BRACKETS // Woodworking with Kreg ACS

  • Today on Modern Builds I'm going to show you how to build clean, modern floating shelves completely from 3/4" plywood. No specialty hardware or brackets necessary. I wanted to test the Kreg ACS on this project because it incorporates a TON of 45 degree bevel cuts that all need to line up for the 'continuous grain' look I've been experimenting with. Of course everything I did can be cut with a circular saw and straight edge, but I wanted to give the ACS a shot at this and it worked great! I'll be uploading free plans tomorrow as soon as they're finished. Links for everything I used are below.

    Thanks for watching everybody!! This isn't the most complicated project in the world but it was a great skill builder incorporating all of these mitered corners. Turns out, it's not too tough.. just a little more prep and careful measuring and cutting. what would you build with a bunch of 'continuous grain'??? 😁

    Also that little gap on the inside (when your miters are 46-47 degrees) makes a space for the extra wood clue to go, helping to ensure it would smoosh out onto the outside as much.

    When making this style of shelf or box that the inside wont show, I cut my mitres to 45.5 degrees. 47 is way too much, that will get you 4 degrees open once you fold them together. Then there isnt much material in contact with the glue.

    are there any worries about making the profile of these smaller? love the simplicity but for the space I need them in, need them to be less wide/tall.

    • @tyfeliz5202
      @tyfeliz5202 3 роки тому

      there are no worries, but a slab of hard wood might just be a better idea and look, depending on how thick you want the shelves. Why spend the time to build a box when you can buy a slab that is already the proper thickness? A slab will have the continuous grain look without all the match, cutting, and assembly. Hope this idea helps

    Hi, I have just been to the Squarespace site after asking google "how much will it cost to run a webpage and domain name"?. A simple question I thought but not one that they are willing to disclose?. I do not trust any site that will not show you the price upfront

    • @abbylane
      @abbylane 4 роки тому

      They do disclose the cost. The pricing varies on what you'd like to use it for, but it's from $12-$40 per month. I hope this helps, sorry if it wasn't what you were looking for! You could try contacting them directly if you have more specific questions, if that's an option. Here's the link:

      Sorry, not sure if you made a typo, but your question "how much will it cost to run a webpage and domain name" does not include the company name, Squarespace.
      If you ask the same question with Squarespace, "how much will it cost to run a web page and domain name on squarespace" the very first page is their pricing page. www.squarespace.com/pricing
