I really wanted a complete tmnt set and couldn’t get anything for a good price other then the neon green turtles, and so decided to get this instead, the comic shredder really sold me on it
Those do not look like comic version turtles. Its cartoon turtles with eyes whited out. Lame move to not make the turtles look like the comic version when thats whats advertised. Shredder and foot soldiers look like they should so why not the turtles?
These turtles are just cheap repaints of the turtles that were in a previous set, they look nowhere like the mirage turtles. The initials on their belts were never in the mirage comic (it was 1st implemented in the Fred Wolf cartoon), we can originally only differentiate the turtles by their weapons. The turtles in the mirage comic likely enjoyed beer more than pizza (another invention from the cartoon). The mirage Shredder & Foot Elite are really attractive but the turtles are disappointing & holds me back from buying the set.
One of the baby turtles mentions pizza in the first issue and the turtles are shown eating pizza in the comics (albeit rarely). Only Raphael ever mentions beer very sparingly.
@@goojo173 U have mixed up the 1990 movie baby turtle saying 'Pizza' as his 1st word with the Mirage issue 1 baby turtle saying, 'Splinter', nowhere was pizza mentioned or shown in issue 1 or even the initial batch of issues that both Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird worked on.
@@gheeseng23 My bad. I know I didn't get it from the movie, though. But the version of the comic I have has some redone lettering and one of the turtles says "Pizza?" on page 17. I just checked, and it's not in the earlier versions with the original lettering. lol. I've had that issue for years and never bothered to check.
@@goojo173 This is so cool! May I know which version of mirage issue 1 has that 'pizza' re-lettered? This is an interesting piece of mirage turtles trivia that I'm unaware of.
@@gheeseng23 It’s from the PBBZ Comic Con Small Press Fest in 2005. It was limited to only 3,000 copies and had some redone toning on top of the redone lettering (it also fixes that infamous “Michaelangelo” spelling error). I’ve had that comic so long, I forgot about the original scene where the baby turtles speak. I always liked how it played out in the 2005 version, but that one’s probably based on the film.
i paid only $ 10 bucks for each one, while you and your clan paid the full retail price,.......ha,ha,ha,ha,....i love being an american, here in america,.........marius(punk rules).
Mirage didn't have belt buckles and these are lazy molds cause it's the 87 toon and not unique to the mirage designs
its a repaint. get over it or dont. know one cares..
