You guys are underrated and deserve more credit/viewers etc etc. thanks for always making my day.
+Jeremyy Ryann I agree
The goofs and random bits at the end are fun.
+Luke Schaefer (WebLuke) Glad you enjoyed!
I really enjoy watching your videos. No one makes videos like you do. Simple, no crazy editing, non theatrical, not noisy and you point out very simple points and views that others won't and makes it extra enjoyable for us to watch. I seriously love your vlogs. So thank you for your work.
The Ginkaku-ji was originally going to be covered in silver foil but silver tarnishes and seemed a hassle to maintain so it just never happened.
You've made me nostalgic for my time in Kyoto. I absolutely loved both Kyoto and Nara.
I just wanted to say "Thank you" for the fun and informative videos. I love y'alls sense of humour, too.
Yaki imo... a favourite experience while in Japan and I caught the guy in Kyoto as well. I got a decent sized one and it was so dense I couldn't finish it. I was full to bursting on ONE of those things. I loved it. Much better than the orange fleshed North American variety of sweet potato.
I totally loved the philosopher route. I would live there if i could. Nice video guys.
You guys are the bestest.
Kyde got schwifty with the moss.
The Philosopher's Path is beautiful to walk through during the sakura season.
I've been watching UA-cam regularly for years. This last week I found you two from your Disney trip and now I can't get enough! I've never planned on traveling to Japan until now.
+HaleBop4 Awesome! Glad you found us! Hope you get a chance to explore Japan sometime, it's wonderful to visit! -E
Exactly what I need to procrastinate.
Ginkakuji actually exudes charm even in the video. It looks old, imperfect. That is part of the aesthetic, I guess. wabi-sabi etc. I dig it.
Hi K & E , as usual your vids allow me to see stuff I normally would not see ,plus the way both you guys present is so refreshingly cool adds so much to the feel .Once again your vid made my day ,looking forward to more . Thank you both and stay safe.
That open train would be AMAZING! I love trains in general, but I cannot comprehend the mentality of riding a train through a beautiful mountain area or something and being stuck in a closed box where you can't experience the atmosphere! If I just wanted to SEE something, I'd watch a video!
And wow, I had no idea bamboo trees were so tall! I thought they were like, palm trees or something. What do I know? I live in Chicago. Not many bamboo trees 'round these parts.
Your videos always make my day! And i'm glad i'm not the only one who wonders about such bathroom things.
sending you guys my usual hugs, thanks for the new videos. Kyoto is one of my fav towns that I've never visited. You've been showing more than I've ever seen so far. I hope I get to visit Kyoto when I go to Japan in 17'.
Your videos are always informative and fun! I'm going to Kyoto on November 23 and your video makes me anticipate the trip even more! Thank you very much!
祇王寺 (Giou-ji) ですね~。 Beautiful moss !
+mop09drg Only in Japan would moss me famous! I love it!-E
Nice story guys! We were there a year ago in october and visited a lot of the same places you did so now we're feeling homesick…
I found Eric's liquor mountain joke funnier than is probably normal.
Great as always guys!
You guys are so fun to watch!
awesome tour of Kyoto. Thanks Kyde and Eric.
Sweet. The Xmas present i bought for myself and a Kyde and Eric vid. Merry Xmas guys. Thank you
You two are fantastic! Especially these Japan episodes! Keep it up guys!
+Harley Thirteen Thanks! Glad you enjoy them! -E
And merry Christmas Eric and Kyde !!!!! May next year be a good year for you guys !!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
again such a great video
OMG LIQUOR MOUNTAIN! I used to have one down the street of the dorm I lived in for the year I studied in Kyoto. BEST IMPORT STORE/Drug Store/Liquor Store EVERRRRRR.
I have been planing to go back to Kyoto when I next go to Japan and you are giving me so many ideas! :D Great videos!
Bambo forest at night is just as amazing.
+Nervous_Breakdown Never thought about that, but you are right, that would probably be awesome! -E
Yay part 2! super fun. I'm glad you guys got to go to the bamboo forest. It was also nice to hear your review on silver temple, very helpful. Also - I'm about to hop online and figure out how to do those sweet potatoes as well. I have been cooking orange Canadian sweet potatoes in a way that looks kiiiinda close to what you had in your hand so...I am gunna try the same thing with some japanese potatoes I picked up at the store today. Basically you just cook them for a super long time until magic delicious mush happens.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2016 To Kyle and Eric. Keep up your fantastic videos please 🤗
Woah... I just finished watching Kyoto part 1 and had resigned myself to patiently waiting for the next part but nope it was in my subscription box waiting for me. Spooky.
That yaki imo looks kind of different than the ones I usually get :D You guys are travelling so much !
Bamboo forest looked really cool and wouldn't mind visit that place my self, looks just like the bamboo fight scen in House of Flying Daggers.
those milky pops with fruit looked really good. i hope they had a coconut one, although i'd be happy with the strawberry one!!
tororo is not a part of okra..it's actually 'YAM' (a kind of tuber) in English(I guess).
Working on catching up.... I LOL'd so hard at the Christmas cup. Totally a Christmas dog. Feel free to remember that controversy and giggle again. You're so welcome.
+Aaron Grosch Haha. Maybe it was just a fat reindeer on a leash? -E
Hey Kyde and Eric just stopping by to wish you guys a Berry Kristmush
that "oishii" reaction on point
1:39, that man in the background is holding the worlds cutest small animal
You guys had almost the exact same day we had in Arashiyama! So fun. :)
+Melody Spencer Nice, so you had a wonderful time then! -E
Love your videos
you can become a happy feeling video Thank you ! I love two people .
Nice video!
This Video is on Point
+Psykodoughboy Thanks!
Totally agree...wait is that 'on point' or 'in point'...?
The skewers you were eating at the end of the video is not yakiniku but kushikatsu. It's a speciality of the Kansai region with takoyaki and okonomiyaki.
great trip
Liquor Mountain!! Eric has a future in stand up!
Hi guys !! I love your videos I'm addicted to it !! I love Japan! I went there once, it was one of the best trip I did, I really want to go back there. So in the meantime I enjoy watching your videos, after so many videos I feel like I know you guys it's weird. Anyway thank you for sharing these moments and please continue the hard work ! bye the way where is the part 3 of the Kyoto trip ? ;) I'm waiting for it !!! ;p
+Oliv' B Kyoto part 3 will be up in a week or two, need to edit it! -E
+Kyde and Eric nice :) I can't wait ! Wish you two to have some nice holidays ! And soon a happy new year !
Your viewers could totally do a Kyde and Eric UA-cam adventure drinking game; every time time one of you says 'ghetto' or 'on point' you have to drink. : )
+Brandon Townsend HAHa. Do it! -E
In Western Japan, it is fairly common to crack a raw quail egg into the cold noodle dip. Around Tokyo, that is rarely seen as y'all know.
Hey that's pretty cool about the Braille bathroom map. My question to you is how did they find the map with the braille on it.
Those monkeys come from a monkey park on top a hill across that busy bridge! Think you guys would of liked it a lot lol. When I went the leaves looked more vibrant and that was on 26/11. Guess it changes every year/wind can destroy them easily.
+nigelo92 Yea, I think we missed the prime time this year by a week or so. No big deal, still was nice. -E
You guys are simply amazing. Love you guys! (will you make a star wars episode?)
+amado torky Just saw it, probably will be mentioned in The Philippines series. -Eric
Hey guys !!!! U would think if it's so popular the open air train would be more of that open cars of the train ?
When you replicate the sweet potato recipe at home, please share it with us, Kyde! Sounds delicious!
+Kenzo Shibakariki She's going to need a little truck to drive around to cook it in, I think! -E
Yeah, I hear the secret to the taste are the stones that are used in cooking. I guess you could put some in a small pot and try at home, but you may gain flavor by cooking a big quantity of potatoes at once.... I guess look out for the Yaki-Imo Man on your street in your neighborhood! lol
Next time Kyde geeks out about lichen...
I'm anxious about the correspondence of "Ema." by which Kiyomizu-dera in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto-shi is tourist's certain making. The mark akin to "Otowayama Kiyomizu-dera" in the "small size" Kiyomizu-dera gives (KO) "Ema." was huge and was stamped without notice. "Ema." was written by a kanji. It's probably made by Chin.....
とろろ is grated nagaimo or yamanoimo.
when you see "yama"kake, this "yama" came from "yama"noimo.
22:28 you said internal of okura? never heard of such a thing.
+sTRipEiSLaNd Ahh, whoops! Thanks! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric sorry for nitpicking. but once you used to the texture like you did with raw eggs, there is a treat, which is called "MUGI TORO GOHAN"
you should try sometimes while in japan.
Keep Uploading videos
I'm confused wasn't this video posted days ago???
Was the lid was a dish too ??? And vid :)
Do you know that the combination word 'brunch' can be used for lunch when you have skipped breakfast?
We feel some difficulties for treating Soba by chopsticks.
Tofu is very fragile, so it is also very difficult to pinch it even for Japanese.
Both of you are very good at using them.
+Chuo Line We have had lots of practice!! -E
+Kyde and Eric I'm looking forward to watching your activities.
Your videos are very fun, so I want to continue watching.
You got to know a lot about Wabi-Sabi to appreciate Ginkaku-ji
that's not a rooster but a phenix on top of Ginkakuji.
If you could (if you're still living in Japan and have saved for tickets) do the Olympics in Japan. 2020. Like some of the majority of it. I'd like to see it, if possible. (I can't go cause of the problem of anxiety/panic attacks in larger crowds. It's part of my disability)
"Stop it pandas." Lol
Another great video guys. Thanks for sharing
if someone said, "that's where we put the lawnmower" 👑 kyde, killing it dead as always! 👑 Eric, literally choking me to death, ha! i barely even know her, he said! Liquor Mountain?! ☠️ ima go n try quail eggs now, that looks neat
OMG, I thought Eric said black people instead of blind people at first XD hehe. ugh love your videos guys 😍
Berry Christmush, guys :)
Like yall videos going to subscribe
does Japan still have Samurai?
Hey guys, what camera did you use to record your videos? Cheers :)
Sony DSC-HX90V
tororo are made from yam, no?
as of okra, people just eat it as it is (boiled and sliced, or sliced and stir-fried or sth...:p)
I love both . - -|||
~Had either, or both, of you by any chance notised - behind Kyde, while she'd been explaining about 'booking passage' aboard the 4-stop train - the (seated) man who was affectionately petting the small, fluffy doggie on his lap, whom he then placed into her/his push-chair (/baby stroller)? A short time later, he passed behind Kyde - walking along the road - carrying his adorable, fluffy baby: it was really just so cute and sweet; tbh, i couldn't help but be 'distracted' by their sincere, charming, loveliness ({: D ...! Kyoto, of course, is marvellous; fabulous video - as ever!!
Haha, good catch!
do a cooking video on Nabe next time.
Is that the same couple at @3:00 and @6:35
I know I'm going back a ways here but re: how blind people use the bathroom - I don't have the requisite parts to use a urinal, but from guy friends with low vision the common consensus is that they just don't use them and pee into the toilet instead. As someone with ladyparts it's pretty simple, just walk until your cane hits the stall door and try to open it. If it opens (and no one screams...it's kinda funny how many people either don't lock the door or don't lock it completely!) you just sorta go in backwards and do the thing. I've had guy friends say that if the seat is down and they want it up they use their foot in a public bathroom to avoid the grody hand situation. Personally I carry wet wipes around with me since I'm kind of a germaphobe and usually spend a good two to three minutes washing my hands after using a public bathroom, lol. I can't really imagine a blind guy using a public urinal, every low vision guy I've spoken to about it has been grossed out at the idea xD I'm sure it happens but I don't think I wanna know how, lol.
Guys could maybe have better results going in the sink! Hahah -E
Never thought about it before, but probably! Guess it depends on the height of the sink though, if they're in those weird tallish cabinet things they might have to aim upwards and that'd just be awkward, especially if anyone else is in there xD
I always think you guys say something else whenever you mention "calpis"
U guys should make a k-mart online, and ill be homer simpsons
loco la cabocha
Little oranges in America are usually called Mandarin Oranges : ) Also why are some of these comments a week old when the video just posted? Are some people getting a sneak peek?! I need in on these sneak peeks!
They release the videos early for the patrons on patreon!
Is Kyde that tall??
A blind person may use a walking cane to tap and find their way around the bathroom, and then memorize the space.
+Virtual Assistant Alana Still seems like finding flushers, urinals, toilet paper, etc might lead a person's hand or walking cane to pretty funk places.
I'm sure the person was already familiar with the room. The question was regarding new, unfamiliar spaces.
wow that look delicious. you will become 100% Japanese. healthy foods
Double dipped >
kyde the beautiful and cuteI love it . Eric the nice guy love it . english spelling and sentence strange ?
+大庭孝広 Haha, thanks! I understand your English, good job! 笑!ありがとう!あなたの英語をわかりました! よくできました!-E
"I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm just saying I judge it"
Hey we featured you on our list of favorite "undiscovered" travel vloggers shelbyandsimon.com/travel-vloggers-you-should-be-following/
+Shelby and Simon Thanks so much! However, we have been posting weekly videos for the past year or so, I'd call that fairly regularly! Thanks for the mention either way! -Eric
I bet that transitioning period between urinals with handles and urinals with sensors was an awkward time for blind men.
+Warren Yazzie Haha.
tororo is a kind of potato that's slimy.
You love trains don't you? 🚝
Wow so many Gaijins in the background :0
+TabbyAngel2 In the foreground too! -Eric
The official website for those "tourist" trains clearly states that advance tickes are available at major travel agencies across the country starting one month before your desired day of ride, which is just like any other train lines in the country. People just line up to buy the limited number of same-day tickets. Trust me, Japanese tourists would not take it any other way, either. Wonder where you get the misinformation.
Shremples... haha
Also, you mispronounced it twice. It's 'ghee-oh-ji'
THe Chihuahua's Baseballshirt is Hiroshima Carps!
