I need to second this; I was having a lot of issues setting up and their support team helped figure it out and sort things straight so I could start using OPUS. I somehow screwed up all my files and couldn't figure out how to fix it, and they swooped in to save the day. They've earned my utmost respect!
Same here. Especially a guy called Michael. I guess they were overloaded with requests on those first few days, but still he answered almost immediately.
My procrastination has paid off!! I resisted to get other libraries out there and finally Opus is here and it doesn’t disappoint. This makes more sense pay for one price and you get a well coherent sounding orchestra. Excellent job 👍🏻
Please make a course teaching how to make your instruments sound like the demos in this video (programming, mixing, etc). It sounds amazing! I'd buy it!
East West has always had a perfect sound - with the original versions it was possible to achieve a comparable sound - now it is even 1 level higher. However, the overall sound is not always only about the library but also about the right composition, orchestration and, last but not least, about the choice of mic positions.
I think you are going to need more then 1TB though. Believe me. Started with a 2TB External SSD myself, just for this software. When I got to downloading just the Opus strings alone, I realized it wasn't enough, and had to go to 4TB. Which I think is currently the largest size for an SSD. Keeping my fingers crossed. But I was so blown away by the sounds, that I just had to take a chance on it...
Who composed the full-fledged instrumental examples? Give them a dang hug. Frigging gorgeous. Don't want to pry too much but I'd be very interested in the name and where they studied. I'm currently at Berklee (Online)
I had some initial difficulties getting things started, but the support (special thanks to Michael P for going beyond ) was excellent in guiding me through, and got me up and running quickly. The product is outstanding and well worth the wait.
This is an excellent video of an amazing product! Hats off to you guys for raising the bar! May I please ask who the composer(s) of the examples in this video is? I’d love to hear more of their work!
There were many composers who contributed. Benny Oschmann made the opening piece, "Age of Heroes" The other full compositions: 8:37 - Antongiulio Frulio "Once Upon A Theme" 14:35 - Ryan Thomas "Journey Through Time (Ending Fanfare)" 19:38 - Alexander Röder "Golden Shields" 22:54 - Nick Phoenix "Skorpion Suite (Excerpt)" For individual instrument examples, most were composed by Ryan Thomas with some contributions by Nick Phoenix. If you head on over to the Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition product page, you can check out all the multi-tracks of the full demos. It's very cool, you can change volume or mute individual sections!
We want more. Amazing walkthrough. East West has been my favorite for the past five years and Opus is an amazing upgrade. Out of curiosity, on what kind of Mac hardware are you guys running this huge Logic Pro project? And second, wouldn't it be fun to disable the note range (with a switch in the UI) a in future Opus update so you can also create some unearthly sound designs like 'an octave too low'? For cinematic projects you don't always want to follow the physical limitations of a real instrument or ensemble.
Hello friends! I've been using EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum (EWQL SO) for years, and it's still my main orchestral library. I'm wondering if EWQL Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition (EWQL HO) is a kind of 'replacement' for the EWQL SO, as it comes with 'Moods' now, which allows to you to change the sound of the instruments. Does it worth to buy EWQL HO or should I wait for a possible update for EWQL SO? Thanks!
finally bought the upgrade, my question is, i already deleted the DIAMOND, does the opus needs to combined with it or should i just install the opus? and why the orchestrator is showing for the choir only?
on for example the 18 violins does the library divide 2 played notes on the 18 violins so that it still sounds like 18 violins ? or does it make it sound like 36 violins😂 silly question, but some library's do that 😅
hello all, has one of you also the phenomenon in Opus that with active arpeggiator (in Midi Tools) no sound is heard in the DAW. But in the standalone version of OPUS it works?
All the examples being played/shown have reverb turned off (there is no orange light for the reverb 'on' button at the top right). How does it sound like there's reverb and so good? because mine doesn't sound like that when I load up Opus with reverb turned off. Is the audio being routed to an external DAW reverb for the examples being played in the video?
I was thinkg of getting Balkan Ethnic Orchestra by Strezov Sampling, but now EastWest Hollywood Orchestra has gotten my attention. Strings of Winter by Sonuscore was another library that I was looking at.. Anyone have any input?
www.soundsonline.com/hollywood-orchestra-opus-edition if you scroll down on that page to the bit that looks like a multitrack mixing desk, I think all the demo songs in the video are available there.... you can mute/solo the sections... pretty cool... I'm hoping that EW will release the actual project files/templates too :)
So, do I need to change patches for every articulation within the 18 violins folder? For example, if I have a passage where I want Leg Slur + Port followed by Penderecki, I would need to load it into a different track?
You could load it in a different Opus instance, or you could load up the instruments/articulations within the same Opus instance and then use the Perform > Zones page to set up a custom switch between them (keyswitch, program change, midi CC assignment, etc)
Great video and fantastic product! I noticed my Opus interface only shows one main microphone whereas you have close, mid, main, stage and surround. Couldn't find it in Preferences.....anyone ?
If you have Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition Gold or ComposerCloud Monthly, there is only 1 mic position. There's full mic positions in Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition Diamond or ComposerCloud Plus, and two mic positions in ComposerCloud X.
If anyone bought and used this library, how does your CPU and RAM handle it? Is it resources hungry or friendly? It says that max. system req. is 32GB. Will my system die if it's 16GB? thanks. Really appreciate anyone reply fast to buy in sale now!
Update: so I contacted customer support, and a guy name Michael had me set up a software so he could control my computer remotely and fixed it for me.He was extremely patient and efficient.very impressed! Thanks eastwest 👏👏👏
Alright I know these are demo tracks but whoever made them deserves a raise
I also wanted to shoutout the EW support team for answering my non-stop questions 😂
I also had some trouble with the licences and I did message them few times😅😅 great customer support!

Yes very responsive!
ABSOLUTELY.
That demo made me feel so nostalgic, sounds like all the movies from my youth
lol same
This music is beautiful! Sounds like John Williams.
The music at 19:40 is so inspiring and thought provoking. Reminds me of the 1917 movie.
My procrastination has paid off!! I resisted to get other libraries out there and finally Opus is here and it doesn’t disappoint. This makes more sense pay for one price and you get a well coherent sounding orchestra. Excellent job 👍🏻

The technique is simple - you have to listen to a large amount of music of this type so that you know which articulation you have to choose ...
A lot of volume automation!
I just want to praise the vast improvements to the solo cello and violin libraries. You guys knocked it out of the park.
Would love a series of step-by-step tutorials on creating with Opus, just like the ones before, like 'Create a Fantasy theme'

Simply brilliant! You did it, EastWest. Welcome back to the game!
A terabyte of sounds!!! Nice 👍🏾 I can’t wait to incorporate this with my MPC One
I just bought a new 1TB SSD drive *AND* a Subscription to ComposerCloud _just_ for this software! Truly fanastic stuff!
I think you are going to need more then 1TB though. Believe me. Started with a 2TB External SSD myself, just for this software. We are also verry Happy with the OPUS Edition, Great Job Guys!!
The midi and/or project file from these compositions should come with this. Instant buy.
The sound is insanely good.
Imo the best library out there. Super realistic and versatile
This software is amazing….an orchestra in a box literally

Thank you. You have put a lot of work into this. Outstanding results.
I really love it!!!! Thank you so much for Opus and also for the Orchestrator
Absolutely great update and an amazing customer support! Thank you, it's nice to be a long-time supporter of EW products!
Fantastic .really great product. Just hoping Orchestrator will be available on the older products. Thanks. And sustain pedal on Orchestrator !
I had some initial difficulties getting things started, but the support (special thanks to Michael P for going beyond ) was excellent in guiding me through, and got me up and running quickly. The product is outstanding and well worth the wait.

I Love this VST 😨😨
Been waiting on this for a while! Excited to watch!
Thank you for making this, all the new sounds sound amazing!!!!!!
I want that library!!!
wow, the opening music is really impressive! Amazing for a sampled orchestra. Who wrote the music? Amazing.
Opening piece was written by Benny Oschmann.
EW brass were always great, they got better!
This IS the sound of John Williams. Dang.
The brass is very cool 😮
Luv u EastWest
My god that sounds like all the scores I grew up to. Very JW.
Beautiful and extremely educating

Thanks!
Amazing tool. Customer support over the top!!
Simply Amazing!
Incredible!
This is amazing.
PLEASE TELL ME THIS WORKS WITH CUBASE.... AND DOES IT WORK WITH KONTACT?
Love….please update Play 6 engine like Opus engine…I bought Silk Ra and Stormdrum 3…i dream with Opus
Well, Opus ist the new Play. I don't think they will update Play 6. Silk Ra and Stormdrum 3 load in Opus too.
I am a composer cloud user. Did these new instruments included in the composer cloud?😁
Yes all the new instruments are in all ComposerCloud plans
Just WOW!!
Is this engine better then Play? Since Play was not a very steady engine
From my experience, so far.. much better, less RAM hungry.

Good shit ,guys. So these ew libraries are simple vst instruments/plugins that can be used in any daw or what?? Thnxx ❤

Wow!
Please do a mixing tutorial with diamond edition!
I use the Gold XP edition and this is a gigantic update!
What's the difference between this and the EW Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra?
The golden age of virtual orchestration

i just subscribed to the composers cloud, now I just need a 4TB ssd over thunderbolt Lol
Hello ! is it possible to move the volume in real time for the violon for exemple ? With 2 keys on the left of the keyboard? like a controler ? Thanks
So does this mean that All EW instruments work in the Opus sample player? Can we uninstall Play?
Wondering this, too; please reply when you find out :)
Yep!
So great exaples😍
hello all, has one of you also the phenomenon in Opus that with active arpeggiator (in Midi Tools) no sound is heard in the DAW. But in the standalone version of OPUS it works?
Do I have to use "Play" instead of OPUS inside Komplete Kontrol, I can't find any information on this subject

How much ram do you need to make projects like 10:28 ?
Is there a way to change the key mappings so it can be used with a 61 key keyboard?
