Let's take a moment to appreciate Dom's amazing playing. No matter what library he plays (it could even be silent samples), he always finds the right piece to play, and way of playing it.
The piece you play at the beginning is part of the Monteverdi Orfeus opera. Incomparable genius of the late renaissance and early baroque music originally played in strings.
well, its easy to implement :D there is a dell 24-inch screen that can tint exactly like this, forgot the model, but its a touchscreen too, would be nice to use the mixer on it.
Wonderful Dom. A beautiful library of old instruments. I really got into Baroque music four years ago, so majestic. It is great to see all of the sounds being kept alive. Please continue to showcase any developments from East West. Thank you so much for all of your presentations.
I need to get this library!!! My ancient relatives (Bassno’s and Lanier’s) made and played these instruments in Bassano Del Grappa for the Doge of Venice and later in London for the Tudor’s & Stuart’s .
I didn't know anything about the hurdy gurdy and seeing demos of this library exposed me to a whole new thing on UA-cam. It's an amazingly versatile instrument. Thanks for the demo. I'll be trying to find ways of using the Fantasy collection on tracks.
You inspire me so much on my journey to become a producer, recording artist and mix professional. Your playing is sooo awesome! Thanks for ALL of your videos! They motivate and inspire me SOO much!
EastWest has been killin it lately. Everyone is always excited about Spitfire/BBC and VSL. But to this day EW has the best brass Library by far. This new Fantasy String Library is the best Fantasy String Library I've ever heard. I just wish they would record an Ocarina and a Nickelharpa sometime in the future. What sets this library apart is the minimal noise level in the background and the clear crisp sound of every articulation. The low Celli is absolutely ridiculous in the Library and I haven't been able to stop playing it! 😂
This is one of the videos that sold me on the library. I picked up the full set and a new NI S61 Mk3 keyboard. Now I’m trying to figure out how to use all this in Studio One 6. Can’t figure out how to use chord tracks with it, and can’t get a feel for setting the bpm to what I want to play. Lots of learning to do.
Was looking for these kind of libraries so I'll definitely check this one out and the other video you made. I can always find something helpful here 😊🌟
Love this video! You have amazing talent and I am subscribed! Although the piece you play is from Monteverdi's Orfeo, I am sure you know the gems in Monteverdi's "L'Incoronazione di Poppea" are also incredible. The whole opera is amazing! And I bet would sound wonderful on this library!
I seriously never get tired of knowledge and enthusiasm you bring to each video. Now I have to ask....Have you added a monitor to your desktop where you controller sits or am i seeing things??I was kicking around the idea of adding a touchscreen to my setup in a similar place on my desk and, if I'm actually not seeing things, how does that setup work for you?
Really nice, not felt dreamy strings like that since playing violin myself as a kid. But Dom, you need a puffy shirt for this library :D [ May for the next fantasy ones, which I am interested in hearing]
Okay, I have taken the plunge! There was an installation bug, but the team sorted it and I am now working through the library. Interesting that there are no "stage" position mics or "vintage". I also think it could do with a couple more instruments, for instance the nyckelharpa. The longer sounds are definitely improved by working the Expression controller. I am looking forward for the Woodwinds in June.
I am interested what they are doing with the price. They have brought the intro price down TWICE since launch. Also, the various updates appear to be cheaper. ($99 each for brass, perc, orchestrator, etc). With the Orchestrator not coming out till the autumn, I wonder if the price will be revised yet again for the complete set. I would love this, but realistically, I think I will wait. I am currently creating a new Cubase template for myself for the current Hollywood Orchestra that focusses on keyswitching rather than having everything there at once! It also has all outputs routed ready (though only Main enabled) and I will probably do a dolby atmos variation at some point. But really, the fantasy library should be added too. If they get the price balance right, I suspect it will be popular.
DANG MAN!!!! You can play, I mean really play.. Wow.. You could make a fart sound good.. lol.. That's amazing man your playing skills.. Outstanding work man..
Great work Dom, as always! What is this screen that is up in front of your desk above your keyboard? Is this a touchscreen or only an mirrored screen with the actual active VST? It looks very interesting and I'll try to install something comparable here in my Studio. Do you have a recomendation for me? Thank you in advance.
Bruh, I can't lie, some of the stuff I want to sample.. lol.. I could never make that plugin sound like that.. Man, when you were on the strings.. Im like this dude.. lol Sorry for the rant bro.. I really liked the way you played What Child Is This, that's one of my favs..
Hello friend, please, I would like to ask you, which is better of these two? which is more real? ot berlin woodwinds legacy version kontakt, or ot revive version sine? and I would also like to know Dom, which one is better for you? berlin woodw vs synchron woodw, Please, I would love to know your opinion, thank you very much
It reminds me of taverna in Skyrim. I actually have one my old music track in this style, it is called Taverna. I love things like this. But for the true sounding of the place I think you need to turn off a couple mics.
They’re all layered, there’s like 3 instruments playing. A bit of a shame because tavern music requires a smaller, simple band feel, it should have solo instruments as an option. Your playing is excellent but I can’t see a use for these unless you make huge orchestral music
You play like a keyboardist, that’s why your examples doesn’t sound satisfactory. For exemple your insistence in left hands octaves that doesn’t exist in those instruments you are sampling. As a professional, you must do some research.
You miss the point. What I’m doing here is playing these libraries live. The instruments are played within their ranges. I have a masters in musicology trust me I am aware about ranges. This would be played by two musicians I just play them with both hands. Also, this is a fantasy piece not a renaissance or medieval music clone as I say on the video. If you research this kind of music then THIS is the sound you get by default. Nobody pretends that libraries can replace real musicians. Now if you think you can do this better on the keyboard, I’ll be waiting for your video. 😊

Nice illusion on your desk! At first, I thought WTF is that? I want that! lol
Same
same here
Hahahaha I wish I had it too!

Dom, yes definitely do more on these for further installments of the instruments. 👌👊
East West - this is quality for the ages!

Lute music piece reminded me of a Skyrim indoor tavern 🍻
L'Orfeo -- Dal Mio permesso amato ... I couldn't believe you played this on the lute sample, I was happy to hear it.
Dom, you are the Jordi Savall of Virtual Music!... Respect!
L'Orfeo for the win!
Yessss 💥💥💥
It's the Ritornello from L'Orfeo by Monteverdi, considered to be the very first opera. An open air spectacle.
18 days to go for the Orchestrator... I'm so Hyped...

Composer cloud continues to be a great value!
So love the viola da gamba non-vib!
Very Prince of Persia vibes! Looking forward for the rest of the sections before the end of the year :)

This comment made me very happy. That’s the whole point! Thanks for watching!

Man, I just love you Dom….
You’re a true inspiration
❤️❤️❤️ thank you my friend!
Bravo Kyriako! I Love EW, please do more videos on their VSTs.

It's been a looong time since my undergraduate days, but that piece makes me think of Purcell.
Yes make a video of he next please, thanks for your great videos
i downloaded this but in that moment i didn't know about the various articulatins sooooo i'm downloading it again hahaha
besides the great demo, Dom's appropriate playing and historical knowledge make this a super video.
Was looking for these kind of libraries so I'll definitely check this one out and the other video you made. I can always find something helpful here 😊🌟
I see you with your Bach double violin concerto!😉👌
Thanks
Man, this is one fun and cool channel! Easily subscribed!
Really had to hit us with 18:36 huh 😂? Great demo!
This inspired me to compose a fantasy theme. Thanks!
This makes me happy ❤️

Is that device on top of the piano that shows the plugin VFX? That looks awesome! Or is it an actual device???
Greensleeves all up in the hizu!

Really fan ! What's your weapon (left hand) for modulation and expression? Because I don't have on my korg triton extreme

Teach me to play keyboard that well please lol, sounds amazing
Great video! How come you are back on you're PC?
oohhhyes
Dom, can you check out, review ADPTR AUDIO SCULPT, from PA. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts!!
Monteverdi - Orfeo!! :)
Yes!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
How does this compare to Rinascimento from FluffyAudio ?

I think it's "Come Again, Sweet Love" by John Dowland.
DANG MAN!!!! You can play, I mean really play.. Wow.. You could make a fart sound good.. lol.. That's amazing man your playing skills.. Outstanding work man..

That hot coffee makes me very nervous.
Hi Dom, thanks for making these videos. Amazing. May I know what is the screen that displays the library right above the keyboard?
I think it's just a picture in picture video edit.
Personal opinion, it sounds better with less reverb and delay - cheers!
Now we need a.... Final Fantasy Library
I second that. And a Lord of the Rings Library! 😁
Wow! Awesome and inspirational fantasy music library ❤
I bet the coffee got cold 😅
This library sound AWESOME!
Side topic: are those GIK panels behind you?
Yes, GIK acoustics panels and bass traps :)
@@DomSigalas Cool! I was looking at getting a few of their membrane traps.
Bruh, I can't lie, some of the stuff I want to sample.. lol.. I could never make that plugin sound like that.. Man, when you were on the strings.. Im like this dude.. lol Sorry for the rant bro.. I really liked the way you played What Child Is This, that's one of my favs..
thanks for this nice video! what kind of screen do you use besides the mongrams? or is it virtaul? and it seems you switched speakers! ;)
It’s editing :) yes, love those Focals- I still have the ADAMS in the other room :)
@@DomSigalas do you prefer the focals? - think about speakers (maybe going to atmos)
hi... a curiosity... but to the left of the mouse and immediately above the keyboard... what module is that in the shape of the EasWest software?
Have you tried Nylon Sky by Spectrasonics?
Not yet!

I enjoy the EastWest libraries a lot and I am going to dig this one, too. Thank you for your walkthroughs and positive vibes. You are the man, Dom!
It reminds me of taverna in Skyrim. I actually have one my old music track in this style, it is called Taverna. I love things like this. But for the true sounding of the place I think you need to turn off a couple mics.
PLease continue make these videos. I love the sounds.
I will! Thank you my friend!
You are such an inspiring producer Dom !
I like your playing! however lute is not played like this in real life haha
what with that smug cup of liquid in a wired support?
Man this thing is magic. It’s an Ember mug keeps your coffee warm for ages without destroying its taste
I am a speaker nerd...the whole video I was thinking...does Dom has a new second set of speakers 😂
Indeed ❤️
What make and model of the monitor is lying flat in front of you? I'd like to arrange my studio this way, Thank you.
Excellent however full orchestra so expensive. Hollywood orchestra is a better choice

It doesn't sound like a lute.
