I get home from work and the only things I wanna do is find something to eat and sleep till my next shift. The weekends are the only peaceful times I have, since I have next to no social life and I have no issues with just staying home to relax and scroll UA-cam all day long. Whenever I see that you've posted a video, I can feel my body and mind ACTUALLY relaxing. I feel joy in gaming that I havent felt in decades since when my old babysitter would come over and pull the Sega out of his backpack. I can feel myself getting giddy to watch probably the best thing I'll see all weekend. You are a service that no one thought they needed until they clicked on your channel and realized they needed you all along. PLEASE keep going.
Try reading some philosophy, there are plenty of great thinkers of centuries past who have written extensively about things you'd be shocked to learn aren't new.
Some spoilery stuff for future games but lot's of fun lore and story came from this game that wasn't mentioned in this game like how Eric's spear is the Alucard Spear given to him by Alucard, hence the expert ending with it glowing. Then there is this games "sequel" so to say Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, starring Morris' son Jonathan where we learn using the Vampire Killer whip without being a full Belmont actually drains the life of and eventually kills the user and that Eric is also killed by another vampire and his daughters are turned into vampires. It's quite the big juxtaposition in how older Castlevania games really have little story compared to the later games, which I think we have Symphony of the Night to thank for that along with all the other tropes later games have.
What an absolute masterpiece. This is still one of my favorite Castlevania games. The music and artstyle still blow my mind. One day I hope we get another castlevania game worthy of its name.....
Oh crap, I remember playing this game back in the day! I really loved using the guy with the Polearm because his style of play was so unique compared to contemporary Castlevanias of the time.

I love the Castlevania series but it's a tough and confusing series. I'm able to beat Ninja Gaiden 1 and that says a lot since I'm a dummy on video games. 😅

Yeah, i was a snes kid, because the genesis controller felt like holding my dads boot in my hand, and trying to mash the laces. Also why i prefered playstation to x box, the original x box controller felt like i was playing leapfrog for adults.
@@poughkeepsiebluegot to admit, I hated the buttons being in a row that close together on a Sega controller. Like after playing with the Snes controller, the Genesis one felt like a major downgrade. Probably decent for fighting games, even then I would rather play Mortal Kombat 2 on Snes.
@@yeahyeahwowman8099 agreed, i also felt the buttons were too close, and thats why the snes style of dpad, and abxy in a "d pad" setup, is copied today by, everyone.

I think lore wise why John Morris's life was cut short was due to the Vampire Killer was only ment to use used by the Belmont Clan and according to the whip's memory Richter was the last owner of it but due to the events of Symphony of the Night Richter pretty much cursed the Vampire Killer and John's son Jonathan had to cleanse it in order to fully use it.
Yes! I'm so glad that you are covering this game! You could argue which game is the best 16-bit Castlevania game, but this is a great game! It certainly deserves a guide! I do love the theme of this game, and that the levels represent different countries. If the development team ran out of space to add more levels, it makes you wonder what the additional levels would have been, and what countries that they would have represented! I do love the addition of a second playable character, that has a bit of a different playstyle. Personally, I enjoy playing Eric more, but I like that the game gives you the choice! It reminds me of when Zero became fully playable in the Mega Man X series.
Id argue it's better than super castlevania 4. Don't get me wrong 4s still good I just like bloodlines better. It's got a way better game feel. It's more restrictive in where you can whip but it's more fair. The game itself looks intimidating but it's fair. I don't have a single bad level in this game. Only one bad enemy that I just need to get used to. The dumb palace of Versailles garden swinging scythe enemies. But that's more due to me not slowing down. This game doesn't have a time limit so take your time.
I loved this game. While Castlevania 2 was my favorite of the pre-SotN entries in the series, this one was a close second. I honestly wish the game had been longer.

Mosu is one of the words for moth in Japanese. I believe it was a katakana translation from the dutch. So it was a mistranslation back into English. Mosura is for Mothra. 1:51:00 So yes, they did name her the Princess of Moths. It just wasn't properly translated in English. It definitely was not Moss, because Moss in Japanese is Koke. Some fools online think the Katakana of Mosu is Moss in Japanese, which boggles my mind. Japanese have never translated the English word of Moss into Japanese, and there is no official Katakana for Moss.
I'm pretty sure "Princess of Moss" was a translation error, and it was indeed intended to be "Princess of Moths." It makes me sad that earlier games had such poor translation teams. There are so many games that could have been amazing if their localization wasn't laughably bad. That being said, even if I could go back and fix every single translation issue, I'd probably leave "You Spoony Bard". That one's okay in my books. Also, I think Square's kind of owned that one anyway, so...feature, not a bug :P

The Empire Strikes Back for NES next please. One of the hardest games I have ever played. Super Empire Strikes Back on Super Nintendo is easy and simple compared to the NES Empire Strikes Back game. In the NES Empire Strikes Back game, you will be extremely lucky if you even make it to Dagobah, much less trying to make it through The Hoth Echo Base.
These series of Castlevania videos helps. I haven't played these games since I was a kid. I remember beating one and three after many many restarts. Symphony of the night was just a masterpiece and the game boy games. Oh my God.. actually easier than these ones.
This game was my favorite Castlevania of all time before they released the Castlevania on the PS1. Did beat it with Game Genie but wished I could had this earlier but not that the game is on the Castlevania Anniversary collection, maybe I’ll play this game again in the mere future.
I loved my Sega. It was the coolest thing ever. I went into my own worlds of whatever I was playing, it felt so real, and so much fun. I loved it so freakin much and miss it even more so...

You didn't mention in this walkthrough, but one of the reasons Eric is pursuing Elizabeth is because she murdered his girlfriend. Eric is on revenge

The Empire Strikes Back for NES next please.
One of the hardest games I have ever played. Super Empire Strikes Back on Super Nintendo is easy and simple compared to the NES Empire Strikes Back game. In the NES Empire Strikes Back game, you will be extremely lucky if you even make it to Dagobah, much less trying to make it through The Hoth Echo Base.
These series of Castlevania videos helps. I haven't played these games since I was a kid. I remember beating one and three after many many restarts. Symphony of the night was just a masterpiece and the game boy games. Oh my God.. actually easier than these ones.

This game was my favorite Castlevania of all time before they released the Castlevania on the PS1. Did beat it with Game Genie but wished I could had this earlier but not that the game is on the Castlevania Anniversary collection, maybe I’ll play this game again in the mere future.
In this game the final stairs are to the right when usually the Belmonts always have to go up to the left
