It's so simple but so beautiful. Stefan, I miss for your Volca performances. Sounds of these small synthesisers is amazing. Digiton, digitact, is too smooth, to perfect to me, sound like in millions compositions around. Volcas are different. I'm coming back to listen your volcas performances with hope to find something new. Best regards.
You are demonstrating how important it is to master the simple elements - the volca world and small hardware synth revolution is seductive for the number of gadgets we can play with - often a distraction from the power of working more minimally. Keys - module - effects .... beautiful. Thank you. More please.
Well said!
@@Two-Eyed_Boy Hear here!
My ears deceiving me... hard to believe this is budget gear! The best!
Great 👍 The more I use my Volcas, the more I appreciate these little big machines.
Thank you so much for this, moment, sharing, talent.
Not gonna lie, I am completely in awe of your skill with such a small setup and single loop. Thanks for this one, it'll keep me frustrated for ages 👍
A new song from Stefan? Nice.
Amazing and beautiful
Sheer elegance.
Second listen and that's giving me the absolute chills. When music does that it means it's good and meaningful from your own perspective. Subbed right away!
No singing....just progressing....what a relief :)
Rad!!
i love this
Superb jam. Shows that great musicians can get great music out of minimalist setups. Always inspiring for me. I wonder if it could even be done without the KeyStep by using flux mode to fit the sequence into our beloved Volca Keys.
You're so good.
Wow! I got stellardrone vibes!!😊
Brilliant use of the "poly" mode! I've never tought of using it this way. Amazing performance, keep up the good work!
🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏 Most Beautiful Piece of Music i Have ever heard on UA-cam from the Volca Keys and the NTS-1, Many Many Thanks for your Masterpiece, Great!!!!❤️
I always loved your work. Cheers from Turkey man
I was supposed to get mine yesterday... ugh I can't wait!
Fascinating
So cool
I love this sound. Thank you.
Such great sounds from such a simple setup. Very cool. 👏
There's many amazing vids with the Keys but this really is right up there. Inspiration stuff. Hats off.
Wow! So deep & atmospheric! So good! Thank u! 😎
Outstanding.
Beautiful 😎😍😎
Love how this ebbs and flows
fantastic cinematic journey!!
Incredible sound!
EPIC!
Εnjoyable, beautifully evolving electronic sound !! Well done bro !! !!
cool and good luck ()-)
Most videos I watched of the Keys don't sound as good as this
wow, master
That sounds awesome!
Nice filter work 👍
Blimey oys good , I watch synth videos you rarely get any one who can make anything thats listenable this is good , on very little gear to
Still amazing!
Gorgeous stuff, subscribed! Convinced me to 1) finish building my NTS-1 tonight and 2) get a Volca Keys! (Have the FM 2 right now)
Bravo, non vedo l'ora di ascoltare il prossimo... Anche io ho 3 volca e quando registrerò qualcosa di bello mi farebbe piacere fartelo sentire 😉
Very nice! I must get into my gear and get it learned lol. Thank you for the great jam and the inspiration :-)
Holy mother of MOOG! This is awesome.

Good stuff!
As you’ll see when I’m recovered, I completely disagree with people that think less is more when it comes to electronic music! Actually I’ve gone so off the rails to spend a small fortune just on samples and VSTs. What I do agree with is knowing every little thing that piece of gear is capable of (unfortunately often I don’t follow my one advice! lol), my plan is to have as many sounds and instruments available to me. Really nice job on this video! I think you know these instruments well! There are two recommendations I have for the NTS1 though the dirty synths (I think that they’re name) package. There are a large array of oscillators and effect. It’s $49 but worth it, and Tim Shoebrige osilator. They really increase the capabilities! Peace, and again I really enjoyed it! I’d like to add as well I think you just convinced me to get a Keys!
This is awesome!!
Excellent, as usual. I have the volca keys, volca beats and volca mix, and my old (and beloved) casio cz-101, and use a zoom b1 as a delay/effect box, just because I had this stompbox in my home. Next steps could be a real delay box, and maybe a better midi controller (101 seems only capable of sending key on and bender wheel), but I plan to keep my 101 in service, simply because I love it so much. Again, thanks a lot for your very beautiful music, and for the tips and tricks, avid listening and reading (and learning!).
Thank you Diana! Nice setup you have there :) Wish all the best for your music 🎶
Amazing. Just be add drum on after 03:05:))
Sick, bro
i love it.
That was freaking beautiful ❤
I love this Stefan! I think I’m gonna try and play your song here myself. Very cool 🤘

@@NicholasBurgher Love it! That was very nice : ) Keep it up !
Im gonna have a go at this too!
😻
Hi Stefan, I admire your songs and your simple setups with Volcas. In this setup of yours, is the Volca Keys audio connected to the NTS-1 audio, and is the other NTS-1 audio output connected to your Mixer? NTS -1 acts as if it were applying an effect on Volca Keys. Is the black and white cable connecting the audio from the NTS-1 to your Mixer?
Yes , exactly : ) Nts1 is used like an fx pedal
@@StefanTorto thank you very much, keep up with your beautiful songs!!!
What nts1 effects do you have here?
I am really enjoying your series. I have watched so many of your videos now. Did you ever do a spot about how you use the looper? It looks integral to some of your performances, but I'm too stupid to see/hear how it fits in. Would love to know. Thanks for everything.
Hi Steve, the looper is used only for pad sounds if you notice (from my MicroKorg xl). It is not (can't be) in synced so i used it to loop my pad sounds : )
@@StefanTorto Thanks - now I go back and listen again, I can't unhear it. I think I'll try the hold feature on my Microfreak. Need to use it more anyway. Volcas are just too much fun...
You surely mastered the keys. How do you get a steady bass and an arp with one key press? Maybe the nts is sequenced by the keystep?
I think the nts is only used as reverb n delay, all the notes are coming from the keys
Keys was my first one and still my favourite : ) I send the melodic sequence to the Volca Keys by the Arturia and since it has 3 notes polyphony I play the bass notes from its keys.
Sounds awesome!! I’m new to the volca keys, what’s the benefit of using the keystep in this case?
creating step sequences and more note control : )
Brilliant. I love it. It’s hard to tell so please explain, is the arpeggio being played from the Arturia via the midi in to the volca whilst you are playing live on the volca keys? Thanks. Lee
Hi Lee ! yes it's playing the sequence and send with midi to keys. : )
Ok how did you connect both the keys and nts1 ? Midi wise
Awesome sounds btw
awesome song. Is there anything else that is hooked up to make this song? or just those 3 devices?
Thanks, only this devices : )
:-) I just emailed you to ask a question....and glad to know this is all the devices needed to make music like this. I love music like this, very relaxing...
Could you please tell me your MIDI cabling and your settings on the back of the key step (small internal sliders orUSB or MIDI or sync. I'm a beginner and I've just bought exactly the same equipment as yours. Thanks
Check this list, got some videos that will help you. Cheers ua-cam.com/play/PLZrm5EeF9Q4IBgKlvjXiI5ZWbQwO4m0zO.html
How are things networked here? Are both of these going into a daw or a mixer and what exactly is the midi controller controlling and via what software or connection?
It's dawless, no software. Keystep send midi sequence to volca keys via midi and volca keys audio out pass through the NTS-1 and from there to a mixer.
You're using sequencer from keystep for key, playing live bass on it and it all goes through NT-S fx?
@@DJ_Min-X yep, exactly : )
@@StefanTorto I take my hat off to you! It sounds extremely good! Do you know Stellardrone? It definitely has something in it!
Foda
hi, how did you connect your keystep to the volca keys?
with midi cable : )
Muy buen vídeo, te felicito. Aquí una explicación básica del NTS1 en español latinoamericano: ua-cam.com/video/ieeKop0JUQo/v-deo.html
tell me where to download this reverb for Korg nts?🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😍
i don't remember , i think from the official site : )
