I have no doubt about the quality and good quantity of sounds that this keyboard includes and the colour screen is good.. but I think Roland fails in these cheaper range keyboards in that there is a lot of space available that could be filled with buttons to control layers, frequencies and other ways to control the sound in real time. ...just 4 knobs and 4 sliders....poor! I don't find it attractive in terms of design and it has a very plastic appearance. In the end it is always the same, one who cannot afford to buy a higher-end keyboard gets demotivated by details like these The same reasons why I have never been completely convinced by Juno family.

Good gracious these sounds they choose to demo are NOT selling me! Horrid..... uggg.... AND that sequencer is still stuck on stinking patterns like the Fantom? I mean COME ONE Roland.... I've been able to rely on Roland keyboards to sequence a full length arrangement alongside patterns ever since the XP series! Sad you took away the linear sequencer!
🤦♀️ The entry-level 'boards never had linear sequencers, that has been a feature of the past midrange and flagship workstations. There's the Korg Kross2 if you want a linear sequencer in an entry-level 'board. Or grab a used FA-06, only recently discontinued and quite badass, even in the sequencer and arpeggiator departments. Mind you, rock and pop songs can be done as chained loops (which they basically tend to be anyway), which Juno-DS, MC-707, and the Fantoms can do just fine.

Interesting Review
I have no doubt about the quality and good quantity of sounds that this keyboard includes and the colour screen is good.. but I think Roland fails in these cheaper range keyboards in that there is a lot of space available that could be filled with buttons to control layers, frequencies and other ways to control the sound in real time. ...just 4 knobs and 4 sliders....poor!
I don't find it attractive in terms of design and it has a very plastic appearance.
In the end it is always the same, one who cannot afford to buy a higher-end keyboard gets demotivated by details like these
The same reasons why I have never been completely convinced by Juno family.
They strike a balance between having useful cotrols and the simplicity required by fools whose brains fry if they see too many controls. I wish the fools would stick to guitar instead or something.
🤦♀️
The entry-level 'boards never had linear sequencers, that has been a feature of the past midrange and flagship workstations.
Pha-50 would be a way better to D8
