Adachi had changed and even used the very words thrown at him before to Sho, you can really say that he might've turned from a somewhat-villain to a somewhat-anti-hero.
And that's why I love him. He's there to piss you to give you drive, he's there to mock you so you can be better, and he's there to insult you to tell you to be who you are.

Meanwhile at the Dojima Residence:
This is maybe the only time that we see Adachi truly mad. I mean he was always in control in P4 because it was a game for him and nobody real pissed him of. Here Sho just remembered him too much of him and he had to deny it cause Adachi thought about why he hated life before Sho it’s just because someone didn’t treat him right. Adachi just see Sho as a failure
Sho is definently meant to represent a foil to Adachi's "redeemed" character after he gets caught and beaten up.
I believe Adachi hates Sho because he acknowledges what the rest of gang said to him when he was killing people to be true. After all,he did snap after being called a "kid throwing a tantrum to the world" which he later parrots to Sho.

But he isn’t still a good character, he’s still abiding to the rules of reality and the investigation team, and he still doesn’t believe in bonds too but he kinda appreciates Dojima visiting him at the end of his story.

Better than anyone, Adachi understands that while the Investigation Team looks like a bunch of kids fooling around, they are determined to win even in the direst of situation. He did witness them giving the Fog God one hell of a beating after all.

Well, technically, this was the second time, but it HAS been used a total of 3 times now.
Not gonna lie, when I saw Morgana use that line in P5, I was like "...Seriously? The temper tantrum line again?"

I'll give you something so you can spill out more blood for funsies; he indirectly calls Yu "cute" in the Japanese version, lol.
Like, I'm actually shocked at the level of his character development. He doesn't regret his actions, he's still kinda the crazy bastard that would lean toward the chaos if it weren't for the fact that he realizes law and sanity are the more mature courses of action and if someone dies in TV land only to appear on some powerlines again, then police might end up thinking Adachi is not the culprit, that the culprit is still out there and they've started up again. I find it a very interesting change of heart, that Adachi is willing to play by the rules even though he could try to escape or even just screw with everything again. The fact that he does have some semblance of a heart seems to also piss him off because he is still a sardonic shithead who hates being bothered to be a 'good guy' when he'd rather leave that to the scooby doo gang of do-gooders who took him down.

He's still deranged as his monologue and comments about the world say, but since he lost his 'game' in Persona 4, he's playing by the world's and the Investigation Team's rules as a penalty, which is why he basically let himself get turned in. His only reason for helping here, according to him, is because if he got killed and hung up on a TV pole like the three confirmed victims in Persona 4, the case would continue because, clearly, there's another killer out there. It would ruin the point of his defeat and 'playing by the rules.'
In reality, I'm almost positive that on some level he actually does care for the Investigation Team, and obviously Dojima and Nanako in particular.

Well that's kind of it. The difference between the antagonist of P4 and P4U. The exchange between 7:12 and 7:40 is it in a nutshell.
I think it's also a reference to what yukiko told Adachi in persona 4 the animation. "You're not a grown up taking control! You're a child throwing a tantrum!"

Sorta. Akechi is a bit mroe complicated. Persona 5 is an explicit critique of Japanese culture, which contineus in Persona 5 Royal. Adachi's problems laid in his parents' expectations of him and society's apthy while Sho was in being tested and under the "care" of a certain someone. However, Adachi still came from a stable background and Sho would end up with funds to take care of himself. Akechi meanwhile was the result of the system's negligance for those in "certain" businesses, the East's view on orphans and bastard children along with the societal failure to address these issues. Akechi's pissed at Japanese society since they were resposible for his crappy life. How he reacted to that was his fault (and even then, given how rigged Yaldabaoth made everything, that in it of itself becomes complicated), but his situation was still pretty awful. While yeah, how Akechi dealt with those problems and his chocies definitely screwed up him over, he's still got shafted.

Imagine Sho telling something similar to Akechi. While Akechi has somewhat more understandable grievances, he was still part of the problem and I imagine after some years of seeing the world and maturing, Sho woul tell Akechi off in a way only Sho could because he and Akechi are pretty alike. Though rather than throwing a tantrum, probably for Akechi running away and being too scared to make bonds, yet still complaining he was alone.

I think it's because it could've attracted Sho's attention and because his Persona can drop more of those fragments in-battle. It would've created more trouble.

He didn't want to kill anyone, it would mess things up.
Two things, one, Having another dead body out of a murder case in progress (with Adachi both in jail and the main suspect) would throw the entire case outta wack and might lead to Adachi not being convicted as the killer (Which Adachi doesn’t want) and 2, although Adachi is quite gruesome in his fighting, he genuinely doesn’t have it in him to directly murder someone, considering he fails to immediately kill Yu in regular P4 and P4U and he literally vomits at the sight of dead bodies

Everyone needs to understand that Adachi isn’t a “somewhat villain” he is a Villain. He isn’t an Anti-hero either, he’s interested in his own interests and isn’t super interested in anything else.
It seems like to me that a lot of people who may have...similar experiences in the love world seem to think what he did was perfectly fine....Adachi is more villainous than Shido...
Your not wrong, Akechi killed a lot of people mainly for Shido, but Adachi killed the 2 girls because he’s crazy. (Ameno-Sagiri was already inside him, but thats only for Adachi wanting to combine both worlds under his influence) His deranged personality and wanting to have a killing game is his true self, Ameno-Sagiri basically just unlocked his secret emotions when he gained his Persona. He may be kind of lazy and actually a blabber mouth, but he’s secretly cunning and deadly. While he does help save the world in this game, he still hates the world and sees bonds useless. He just wants to go back to jail because of some new rules he made for himself. He however doesn’t really feel guilt for his past actions and especially for killing Saki and the Announcer. He probably would still be the same even if he did open more to Yu & Dojima.

@@mariocooper1996 i see it as this is game its a whole "redemption arc" for Adachi, its not a complete redemption, not even a good one, but thats just how life is, he in the end accepts that having a bond with Dojima isnt that bad, so his learning, thats a step for the right direction
