Good fishing Richard! I fish Cordell Hull Dam in Tennesse for Sauger. I usually use a white 3 inch mister twister with a quarter ounce jighead. After I saw you use the tiny fluke made by zoom I'm gonna try that out, thanks for sharing all your techniques it helps the rest of us get out there and slay em!!!
Teach us how to catch huge carp out of a gravel pit if possible? I struggle with gravel pits.
I learn from you and i have been fishing 60 years, never know it all and never to old to learn.

I have caught one sauger in my life here in Oklahoma. We have them in our rivers along with Walleye, but they are not so numerous so as they are a target species. I wish they were though. These fish are great eating.

Great to hear that the numbers are coming back! I miss catching those "Toothy Critters". You should come a bit North and try for the Walleye...still the TN River, just different Reservoir. Watts Bar has a pretty descent Walleye population...just an FYI. Many a cold, blustery day spent below Nickajack Dam I have spent, looking for them Sauger Critters. Thanks for the memories,Sir Richard!

Bass Nazi You can actually catch Walleye in the south in the mountains in some of the deeper lakes
@@rogerdickinson9335 yea it's a bit more of the northern variety a little to the North, but here on the Tennessee River in Alabama your restricted to their cousins the sauger, and for pike their close relatives the Chain Pickerel.
Bass Nazi well there’s lakes in GA, NC, and TN with them. It’s just because of higher elevations which means cooler and deeper lakes.

Well, Mr Gene, here it is December 2019 and it's almost over. You've only got a few more days left to make it 3 December sauger videos in a row... 2017, 2018, 2019?
Went fishing by the dam late yesterday. I target whatever bites. But caught two little sauger last night on very small gold minnows. I hit the miniature minnow jackpot yesterday.
I caught one of these little sauger last year in the same place. Wasn't really sure what it was as it was the first one I had ever caught. And it seemed mostly gray in color. The two last night had more markings and the brown spots on the dorsal fin.
Thinking about going back tonight and targeting sauger!

Went yesterday to Henderson down here in Louisiana. The wind was bad caught a few but it was hard fishing. 👍

Good video Richard, up in ohio, we have the hybrid saugeye, I jig for them, double rig some times just slow steady reel other times lift & fall, great table fare no doubt, maybe do a video on usinv plastics for them sauger?
