Mr Gene you need your own tv fishing show !! I'd never miss an episode! It doesn't matter which video of yours I watch , I always learn something! Thanks for your passion of fishing to help make other fishermen better !!

I like to use 10 pond braid. Its stronger, but still think enough to cast as well as 2 pound mono. That way you can catch any kind of fish on one pole.
In South Louisiana all of us Cajuns call crappie (Sac a lait).

Great video Richard, I watched it with my eleven year old daughter who loves to fish. Today I went out and did all the stuff you show on your videos, and sure enough hooked into a mess of summertime black crappies, none under a pound, and one 13" 20 ounce -- my personal best. Not bad for Vermont where few people know about them. I owe you a big THANK YOU! Can't wait to get the kid out catching them this weekend.

I check UA-cam every day to see if you have a new video. This one, like all your videos, is funny and informative. Appreciate your willingness to share things that help those seeking to become better fishermen, especially for CRAPPIE. And you are right - When you go fishin, "it's GOOOOD fer ye". Love the Bear Bryant hat too.

Great Video Richard! I've been watching your videos for a while now, and you're one of my favorite fisherman. You remind me a lot of my father and the way we used to fish every weekend. I have very fond memories of us going to Weiss Lake and catching 100+ slab crappie. Keep up the good work. You're going to do very well. Before you know it, you'll be at 100k subscribers!

From one bama boy to another, you got game my man. Keep the awesome vids coming. I agree that 10lb braid would be ideal but also love that drag scream on the 2lb. Do what ya do bud it’s working. Love how you express your appreciation for the beauty of our local fishes. Saw a 10lb drum today and thought it was pretty. Most anglers are annoyed by drum but I’ve caught huge bass and stripers and crappie in the same areas as drum. I’ve been catching good fish for years on Wilson and Pickwick. Hope to see ya on the water soon!

ANOTHER GREAT ONE MACHINE! I love Striper and Walleye fishing up here on Lake Cumberland. Your right the striper get HUGE! Can't wait for the winter Sauger fishing videos. Love learning how u do it! I do it on the KY river as well. Generally close to locks and dams drifting away from them jigging. Then go back and do it all over again.lol

Not a bunch of crappie, but dang boy they was big and fat! I use that same whipping technique for white bass here in Ohio. Cast out, couple hard whips like that and WHAM! They'll smack the bait off the jig it seems. Great video Richard Gene the fishing KING! Can't wait to rig up some of them 4x4 jigs!

I have noticed that if there are high power power lines crossing the river that large fish gather under them and have done well fishing there I have noticed power lines on your great videos. See if it works for you, LOVE your videos and watch them over and over but Oregon wont allow use of live bait for fishing . Great fishing Richard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Question for ya Richard how do ya stay so still in that current? In my aluminum boat I would have been floated halfway down the river before I got a cast half way back to the boat. feels likes I'm always fighting current and wind with my trolling motor.. tried an anchor also... it's just a constant battle that wears me out
