Honestly items had to have stayed the same/server had to re-update imo mainly because it set a precedent for nuking them again in the future. Chunk trimming was also a huge thing imo.
2b2t players not throwing a fit when 2 terabytes worth of chunks nobody has ever even seen get deleted and they're told not to dox children online challenge (impossible, apparently)
honestly, I don't think he did it out of any ill will; he just wanted to update the server to 1.19, but he just updated the server in a way that wasn't satisfactory to the player base because most of the changes he made were to reduce the lag and stuff. honestly, I think what should've happened was more communication between him and the player base to set some compromises for the player base.
Agreed. Players became strongly opposed to many good changes due to the presentation. The various owners have ALWAYS removed lag machines, yet the community thought this was something new because of its wording. "Hause" should have kept the chunk trimming and explained how the system really can only target historyless chunks, burying any controversy in what looks like logic but are actually unfalsifiable claims - here's how it works, no you can't inspect the source code, yes it does just so happen to be something we both can agree to. Ultimately it's the server owner's job to keep the server running, and that requires the team to make token efforts to respect the EULA and to discourage server-ruining behavior eg lag machines. All the team has learned from this experience is that they have to baby the playerbase as the anarchy community is too quick to judge.
@@boldCactusladThat still removes many of the tactics players use, and also erase a lot of history of the server. The fact that they are actually untouched by players is a big deal considering what the server's playerbase is known to do. It's also preserved examples of terrain made in that specific version of the game too.
nah plenty of ill will there, an example is he specifically targeted player's stashes especially the pvp stashes which is a core part of 2b2t, imagine all your stacks of 64x enchanted golden apples becomes only 1x unstackable enchanted golden apple, then house was like "lmao just get more" but he doesnt fking disclose that enchanted golden apples are uncraftable and would be basically unobtainable (2% chance for newly generated chests from temples).
the new update is pretty cool. only downside is that 50% of hacked clients aren't supported anymore lmao. (unless you want your striders to be magma cubes with a name tag that makes zombie sounds. yes this actually happens.)
I'm an Impact user, and between this and another server I've got friends on coming back up hopefully, I've needed to try and find an alternative. Installing Meteor (It's the closest free client I can think of to Impact) is currently a pain as I'm not a good Fabric mod user
It feels like the majority of changes everyone was up-in-arms over were good changes. To be fair, I am not a 2b2t player, so it's not my place to judge.. but I'm curious if a slower rollout of some of those changes might be better for all involved. It's also interesting to point out how many of the changes are literally Mojang/Microsoft threatening action, and Hause responding appropriately, but because the 2b2t community is anarchist in nature - of course they don't accept this. Hopefully they are never punished for this. It's wrong of Mojang/Microsoft so suddenly change and demand that the game be played differently. Once you've sold a game - it isn't yours anymore. All the recent changes destroying the game for long-time players are not okay.
If only that were the case, but in reality even though you paid for the game you don't own it, you just own a license they can alter or even take away from you
End of the day money would have been a factor that forced Hause to respond. Servers cost money and if people protest with their wallets change will inevitably happen. However I don't think this will be players 'controlling' Hause, rather I think (and hope) this will be a lesson for Hause. If this was just a simple F2P server then yeah sweeping changes would have gone in fine with no issues but when people pay money for a service you need to be transparent when changes are coming.
the situation is (mostly) over, SalC1 withdrew and the strikers got what they wanted removed from the update. Anything past this is probably gonna fade away
i really do think it's a good update. not only does it make 2b2t more inviting without making it too inviting so that it doesnt just become a vanilla server, it also alienates the older 2b2t members, so that they stop playing 2b2t and maybe have a chance to go outside again. truly a win-win scenario.
I can understand removing blocks and items. Every item adds data to the server and to many items can bog it down, however on a server like this its a bit hard to remove any items.
The surprising thing is that the better changes got veto'd. You know there'll be a dupe immediately, and with the items already having no value, wtf is the point? Also fucking people over via trails > making the map actually new and exciting.
props to Hausemaster for being the bigger man, he just wanted to give the server a fresh breath of air and make it more fun. but it backlashed and he listened. i salute you, Hausemaster
i love how all the people are raging cause the Owner updated his server. I personally would of never rolled back or anything, I'd of just updated to 1.19 and said 'don't like it, then too fucking bad".
100% sounds like everyone didn't want the server to be as hard as it was intended to be and used monetary coercion to get their easy life back. A lot of what made the server easy were outright glitches simply being fixed. I can't really blame the owner for caving, though. At some point you can't have a server at all if that's how people are going to behave. Hosting ain't free. Great shame cause it sounds like, had people gotten used to it, it would have injected life in to the server again. What's the point of all the history of the server laying around with no one to play on it? Ridiculous. I worry this will create an even worse disaster in the future, too. Now they can get what they want by just flashing their credit cards. That's not going to be something that works out for the best. But the community brought it on themselves.
honestly I don't think he did it out of any ill will he just wanted to update the server to 1.19 but he just updated the server in a way that wasn't satisfactory to the player base cause like most of the changes he made was to reduce the lag and stuff honestly I think what should've happened was more communication between him and the player base to set some compromises for the player base.
For those mad at 2b2t's server owners over these changes, blame Mojang/Microshaft for their recent Orwellian EULA changes which basically outlawed 2b2t in it's intended form with extreme prejudice. It was either 2b2t become something else entirely or be shut down forever.
This is unfortunate. Housemaster should've audited these major changes with his community, made the necessary compromises and implemented them over the span of a few years... It's an ugly stain of an already bad record as a community manager
The trouble wasn’t exclusive to the 2b2t playerbase, but to all anarchy players. Everyone had to deal with the influx of children begging for kits, only for them to retreat to 2b shortly after-not to mention the unbearable lag they brought.
While the owner and the community both had fair points, I believe the crucial mistake was the immediate changes applied to the server without consulting the community. Like Chat Report. Applied without the opinion of the people. You remember the back clash. I believe rules and changes should have been brought to the players as a Poll, like the owner did for the final fate of the server rollback.
I still physically cringe at seeing 2b2t in any public light, including this video. I had my time there, it got flooded by children, and I'll be glad when it's fully gone. Good riddance
Really its smart for house to listen to the community. There are two definitions of anarchy no rules which would mean a unplayable server full of lag machines and just can’t be or no rulers and would have community based decisions. If you have rules and house being a dictator you aren’t anarchy by any definition.
I find it a bit funny that anarchy server players of all things, expected the server owner to maintain and enforce anarchy like it's a rule to be enforced.
i find it funny that people were up in arms with actual rules being a thing. its disgusting, really, and the people up in arms are exactly the kind of people thats not welcome online.
We would all absolutely love for 2b2t to update to the newest version, however, we don't want unnecessary, banal, and stodgy rules to be introduced and enforced, we would just like the update.
While I definitely understand the reasoning behind all these changes, they went about it in absolutely the wrong way. Haven’t played 2B2T in years now, but I would be pissed if my stash got decimated by these updates. Glad the bad changes got rolled back, maybe I’ll hop on again at some point.
imagine having tens of shulkers with x64 enchanted golden apple stacks now becomes x1 unstackable enchanted golden apples then just being told to get more when haus fully knows its uncraftable and basically unobtainable in 1.19 lmao
i think in the end it worked out for the best, and im glad the owner listened to the community. id been waiting til 1.19 to rejoin the server, and now its good to be back
Hope this doesn't ruin updates going forward, this ordeal might mean 2B2T will be stuck on 1.12 forever. It didn't sound all bad with the changes, chunk regeneration sounded good, there's literally nothing there so who cares? Plus, modern mechanics like swimming, heck yes. Only really bad was the economy update, removing totems and crystals, ouch. I think that was what set people off, by the time Hause stepped in to offer an undo, they wanted to make it hurt by restoring the chunks too. Maybe if they cooled down, they'd reconsider regenerating chunks.
From all the changes I am in favour of the anti-x-ray. It will force players to either work harder or to discover new creative ways to find ores. When I get to this server I will definitely have hard time finding anything, but it's 2b2t, so players with knowledge of some hacks should be the ones that win. But I am definitely opposed to undoing previous progress, as cheating is totally legitimate way to gather resources on this server. Patching the bugs is OK, but punishing the players that found them first is definitely not.
I still can’t believe he thought this was a good idea.. but at least he is gonna revert it all.. thankfully. Oh and great video btw! Love the Mario galaxy music as well 😅
Great video Vincent, I really like how you waited to give a more objective and factual observation of the new changes instead of throwing together multiple quick videos while all this was happening. I really wonder where fit is at though… what was the clip at 12:25 from? Is that from a recent stream? Anyways great video.
really shows how conservative fanbase can ruin a pretty good update most of these changes are actually good like mobs spawning, removing unused chunks so new terrain can generate and the server takes up less space, no phantoms enforcing the rules (even though the rules were always there) and resetting economy are kinda a mixed bag which should've been discussed with a fanbase before updating still, i think it's better than letting the server stagnate in never-changing meta and HUGE world of basically pre-alpha terrain
tbh, I understand why hausemaster implemented the rules. Its not up to him, but mojang. If he doesn't at least appear to be cognizant of the eula agreement, he could have his account and server removed
2b2t is not and never was an "anarchy server." It's a vanilla server with no formalized rules. "Anarchy server" is a designation given to servers inspired by the environment this fostered.
I'm fairly confident housemaster is no longer in control of the server and he sold it. The removal of greentext is the biggest giveaway, a 4chan oldfag would never remove it.
As a normal player I don't really have any idea about 2b2t's things but personally i think housemaster has left the community almost intact for many years and even if what he did was pretty harsh and fast he still deserves to have some say and yet as it's said money does rule most of things and he probably realized that at this point rather than him the community rules the server
The "rules" for an anarchy server should be the bare minimum, with "rules" only being established or enforced when, should they not, the server becomes unplayable.
Maybe changing to 1.19 would be a good idea erasing untouched chunks, that way you have the best of both worlds allowing old chunks to spawn with the new engine
Even though harsher changes new players are eliminated as people wont want to go through the trouble of downloading a specific version of Minecraft just to play 2b2t
there's no way shit's going to update ever now, which might not be a bad thing. If haus wants to continue their own interest in the game instead of retiring the server entirely in ten years when the fun stops again he should make a new anarchy server with his update specifications. New revenue stream, new arena to fill with new precedent
This update should be dubbed the update that killed 2b2t, just so people know I have dipped onto 2b2t but more like an antvenom without recording style, didnt have plans to stay just wanted to see it for myself, if you go in the right era its actually not that bad. Obviously I agree with certain moves that hause has done such as encouraging people to not DOX and harrass people outside of the server (indluding any official or unofficial 2b locations (such as fitmc or salc1 youtube, any discord servers and on reddit)), preventing intentional server down time, but other stuff such as soft economy reset, while i can see the reason behind it that basically took out the anarchy of the anarchy server, and disabling cheats such as xray? thats barely even anarchy stuff and just basica minecraft hacking. so not only has hause helped kill it but i can feel a more 2b2t aproriate killing of the server. with the mojang report system how it is i can see someone going onto 2b2t with the intention of mass reporting peoples accounts to get the multiplayer accsess removed basically causing a dead server, which would be good for the queue times but not good for hause, yes this could potentially cause a new wave of 2b2t creators, finding the dupe stashes getting powered up easily and exploiting whatever they can exploit, but do you think many people would use a 1.19 anarchy server if there was a chance they could lose online privilage?
as a regular const player I think the whole 2b2t was used to the luxuries of a broken economy is VERY true. const's economy is much more scarce than 2b2t's and I'll tell you right now it is very riveting having to think before entering combat with mobs and with players. I was shocked finding out that most of the folks on const were pretty against the 2b2t changes. (barring the huge influx of 2b2t players)
the "outrage" to me is absolutely stupid. the removed and fixed things serve to stop lag machines and dupes. yes it's minecraft anarchy, but it's not real life anarchy.
Imagine getting upset that your cheats in an extremely easy game were removed, and crying like a child. Also, I would think chunk culling would be welcomed, since like 80% of the map within a large travel distance were already generated, and no chunk culling largely negates benefit of updating.
i cant but completely agree with housemaster about the chunk trimming salc1 is the most dramatic 40 year old ever, they explicitly said chunks with builds on them wouldnt be affected the server endured years of chunk loading related exploits so there is terrain that was never touched and never will be, trimming those off would make the new blocks easier to obtain get more of those funny terrain generation borders which i personally enjoy since they show the age of the server there was a boom with the elytra where players would just randomly fly around to make the world bigger on purpose and yes haha its funy we break the server hehe, but the file went from gigas to teras in just a few weeks, thats thousands of dollars needed to keep unused files i dont think its wrong to look for ways to improve the gameplay on the server and its sustainability
unrolling chunk trimming means server maintenance cost remains high. consequences: - if amount of priority queue players drastically goes down - server may become unprofitable. what will hause do in such case? - if priority queue players group up again and demand some stupid feature just to fun, like weddings, hause will listen to them again?
He shouldn't have undid the chunk culling. If no one had anything built in those chunks and it would help with new update experience, it absolutely should have stayed in place to help cut down on the server's ludicrous file size. I can understand people getting pissy over the in-game economy, but the chunk culling would only help overall user experience, especially with how 1.19 handles version-change chunk border generation.
To clarify, since I didn't fully explain it, 2b2t has been reset to the first day of 1.19 without the economy reset and chunk culling.

A community complaining to Hausemaster might mean a change, but a community complaining to Microsoft once the server is inevitably taken down, will get no response.
An violence chemical weapons warfare against Microsoft will be carried out
2B2T alive today. But for how long.
If you have 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies, you have $1.19. You also have the largest amount of money in coins without being able to make change for a dollar.
What a wild ride this has been. After doing some research on all the updated blocks ect. since 1.12, I’m very excited. The only thing that I’m not to happy with is the creeper spawn rate is insane, and I think we’re gonna lose a lot signs unintentionally. In just a few days I’ve already accidentally blown up a a 2015 sign, and I’m very careful. I now use freecam to read signs Lol Great video, and I look forward to the new blocks!
"I now use freecam to look at signs." Good tip.
Honestly items had to have stayed the same/server had to re-update imo mainly because it set a precedent for nuking them again in the future. Chunk trimming was also a huge thing imo.
"To have people obtain them again"
_shows clip of a stack of enchanted gapples being returned to 1, an item which has no recipe anymore_
I do not agree, after that response to salc1 I think that he did that by his will
@@boldCactusladThat still removes many of the tactics players use, and also erase a lot of history of the server.
@@randovid1 I mean, he isn’t entirely wrong about getting more since there is duplication methods. But it does feel rather spiteful still.
the new update is pretty cool. only downside is that 50% of hacked clients aren't supported anymore lmao. (unless you want your striders to be magma cubes with a name tag that makes zombie sounds. yes this actually happens.)
Using viafabric?
I'm an Impact user, and between this and another server I've got friends on coming back up hopefully, I've needed to try and find an alternative. Installing Meteor (It's the closest free client I can think of to Impact) is currently a pain as I'm not a good Fabric mod user

Hello @@spritzerland658
hause's response to salc1 was incomprehensibly based and im honestly kinda sad he apologized
It based to jump on a landmine you know. Based in death.
Most definitely. It goes to show you the amount of manchildren who still play 2b2t
Wow! I had no idea it got a rollback! It looks like we get 1.19 with all the benefits and no downsides!
If only that were the case, but in reality even though you paid for the game you don't own it, you just own a license they can alter or even take away from you
I stopped reading at “I am not a 2b2t player” don’t speak on stuff you have no idea about 🤷♂️
End of the day money would have been a factor that forced Hause to respond.
The new chunk logic , and the anti cheat measures were actually pretty good changes . The rest of them I understand how the players can be upset .
the situation is (mostly) over, SalC1 withdrew and the strikers got what they wanted removed from the update. Anything past this is probably gonna fade away
i really do think it's a good update. not only does it make 2b2t more inviting without making it too inviting so that it doesnt just become a vanilla server, it also alienates the older 2b2t members, so that they stop playing 2b2t and maybe have a chance to go outside again.
truly a win-win scenario.
love it that he responds as soon as he starts losing money

"brought out *the man* in players"
Lmao Vincent! That's such a funny way to put it, but I whole-heatedly agree
I can understand removing blocks and items. Every item adds data to the server and to many items can bog it down, however on a server like this its a bit hard to remove any items.
Lmao the one added rule is "no bullying" and as such "It's not anarchy anymore". Bruh, 2b2t is something uh
Hause only reneged after his livelihood was in jeopardy. Just shows what really controls 2b2t, the Almighty Dollar.
2b2t is now a democracy server
The surprising thing is that the better changes got veto'd. You know there'll be a dupe immediately, and with the items already having no value, wtf is the point? Also fucking people over via trails > making the map actually new and exciting.
props to Hausemaster for being the bigger man, he just wanted to give the server a fresh breath of air and make it more fun. but it backlashed and he listened. i salute you, Hausemaster
i love how all the people are raging cause the Owner updated his server. I personally would of never rolled back or anything, I'd of just updated to 1.19 and said 'don't like it, then too fucking bad".
2b2t players throwing a temper tantrum bc the server was objectively improved will never not be hilarious
bum
Objectively improved?
More like objectively trashed
Hause forgot how bad he needed those priority queue sheckles and the 2b2t players reminded him of that 🤣
honestly I don't think he did it out of any ill will he just wanted to update the server to 1.19 but he just updated the server in a way that wasn't satisfactory to the player base cause like most of the changes he made was to reduce the lag and stuff honestly I think what should've happened was more communication between him and the player base to set some compromises for the player base.
Hausenberg needed all the shmeckles
@@_sansvisage he did it because of Ill intend cause I said so
For those mad at 2b2t's server owners over these changes, blame Mojang/Microshaft for their recent Orwellian EULA changes which basically outlawed 2b2t in it's intended form with extreme prejudice.
It was either 2b2t become something else entirely or be shut down forever.
This is unfortunate. Housemaster should've audited these major changes with his community, made the necessary compromises and implemented them over the span of a few years...
It's an ugly stain of an already bad record as a community manager
Fit MC is probably playing on the newest anarchy server in Minecraft now
Yes and it's name is QSMP
THE NEWEST ANARCHY SERVER IN MINECRAFT
The trouble wasn’t exclusive to the 2b2t playerbase, but to all anarchy players. Everyone had to deal with the influx of children begging for kits, only for them to retreat to 2b shortly after-not to mention the unbearable lag they brought.
While the owner and the community both had fair points, I believe the crucial mistake was the immediate changes applied to the server without consulting the community.
Like Chat Report. Applied without the opinion of the people. You remember the back clash.
I believe rules and changes should have been brought to the players as a Poll, like the owner did for the final fate of the server rollback.
It's due to Minecraft's EULA.
@@MaoRatto more like 1984
Frankly, most of the changes seemed completely reasonable.
@@matthewbarabas3052 This is a reddit comment.
Lol, why do you care if you don't play.
i think in the end it worked out for the best, and im glad the owner listened to the community. id been waiting til 1.19 to rejoin the server, and now its good to be back
As someone who workd with server management almost every single change here was made because of limitations of the upgrade and foila
Wow holy shit I'm on the vote part, 2b2t is dead, it is not maintainable anymore. Its only limited by housemaster finding something better to do
Hope this doesn't ruin updates going forward, this ordeal might mean 2B2T will be stuck on 1.12 forever. Maybe if they cooled down, they'd reconsider regenerating chunks.
wooo! Vincent documentary finally dropped!
It took Leo Tolstoy six years to write "War & Peace".
Dude hosts the longest running server. Let's players have complete freedom even sell items out of game. People still complain
Patching the bugs is OK, but punishing the players that found them first is definitely not.
i hope they get rid of global death messages that was one of the good changes
this should be extremely intresting cant wait to see what the crazy tb2t players do even with the bad apdate
Finally news from 2b2t
I still can’t believe he thought this was a good idea.. but at least he is gonna revert it all.. thankfully. Oh and great video btw! Love the Mario galaxy music as well 😅
Great video Vincent, I really like how you waited to give a more objective and factual observation of the new changes instead of throwing together multiple quick videos while all this was happening.
I really wonder where fit is at though… what was the clip at 12:25 from? Is that from a recent stream? Anyways great video.
It's from FitMC on Twitch - QSMP Day 160 ~1:53:09
yeah seemingly playing quackitys new SMP server and hasn't been involved with 2b2t as much, we shall see the future
really shows how conservative fanbase can ruin a pretty good update
most of these changes are actually good
like mobs spawning, removing unused chunks so new terrain can generate and the server takes up less space, no phantoms
enforcing the rules (even though the rules were always there) and resetting economy are kinda a mixed bag which should've been discussed with a fanbase before updating
still, i think it's better than letting the server stagnate in never-changing meta and HUGE world of basically pre-alpha terrain
Very well worded and documented, good stuff
Thanks
tbh, I understand why hausemaster implemented the rules. Its not up to him, but mojang. If he doesn't at least appear to be cognizant of the eula agreement, he could have his account and server removed
I still don't think I can ever get over the irony of an anarchy server having things like rules and anti-cheat.
2b2t has always had an anti-cheat lol
2b2t is not and never was an "anarchy server." It's a vanilla server with no formalized rules. "Anarchy server" is a designation given to servers inspired by the environment this fostered.
I find it wild af! That people would loose their shit for changes as minor as the ones listed on this video
I'm fairly confident housemaster is no longer in control of the server and he sold it. The removal of greentext is the biggest giveaway, a 4chan oldfag would never remove it.
As a normal player I don't really have any idea about 2b2t's things but personally i think housemaster has left the community almost intact for many years and even if what he did was pretty harsh and fast he still deserves to have some say and yet as it's said money does rule most of things and he probably realized that at this point rather than him the community rules the server
it was crazy he allowed the world to be so big i wish he put in a limit it would have limited the size and all
I knew this would happen when mojang announced chat reporting.
Hausemaster shouldn't've backed down and should have kept going
The "rules" for an anarchy server should be the bare minimum, with "rules" only being established or enforced when, should they not, the server becomes unplayable.
I'm very impressed with how Haus sucked it up and did the right thing. More of a man then most of us.
Maybe changing to 1.19 would be a good idea erasing untouched chunks, that way you have the best of both worlds allowing old chunks to spawn with the new engine
Part of me thinks Hause had a point. The item reset would just be undone by dupes anyways, that's the one constant of 2b2t. Everything gets undone.
The server is on 1.19 and from what the website said, he will update to later versions as well
@@fastvincent1 oh crud, so is it just an amended update now or did I mishear something from the video?

I think the rules are a legal thing, it is 2b after all, but I don’t think they actually care. They just don’t want to get sued
"This is no longer anarchy"
*Words written on this servers tombstone.*
Wait he rolled it back? wow, after all this time, i might play again
Hause should keep the anti bullying/harassment rule
2b2t wouldn't have survived a FitMC response video
They fleeced the hell out of people that came back to 2b2t and paid for priority queue just to log on and find out it’s no longer an anarchy server.
Imagine getting upset that your cheats in an extremely easy game were removed, and crying like a child. Also, I would think chunk culling would be welcomed, since like 80% of the map within a large travel distance were already generated, and no chunk culling largely negates benefit of updating.
Gemmy music used in this video, especially Space Storm Galaxy.
i cant but completely agree with housemaster about the chunk trimming
salc1 is the most dramatic 40 year old ever, they explicitly said chunks with builds on them wouldnt be affected
the server endured years of chunk loading related exploits so there is terrain that was never touched and never will be, trimming those off would make the new blocks easier to obtain get more of those funny terrain generation borders which i personally enjoy since they show the age of the server
there was a boom with the elytra where players would just randomly fly around to make the world bigger on purpose
and yes haha its funy we break the server hehe, but the file went from gigas to teras in just a few weeks, thats thousands of dollars needed to keep unused files
i dont think its wrong to look for ways to improve the gameplay on the server and its sustainability
But change bad!!!!!
Salc1 is a man child bet he still lives with his parents
unrolling chunk trimming means server maintenance cost remains high. consequences:
- if amount of priority queue players drastically goes down - server may become unprofitable. what will hause do in such case?
- if priority queue players group up again and demand some stupid feature just to fun, like weddings, hause will listen to them again?
He shouldn't have undid the chunk culling. If no one had anything built in those chunks and it would help with new update experience, it absolutely should have stayed in place to help cut down on the server's ludicrous file size. I can understand people getting pissy over the in-game economy, but the chunk culling would only help overall user experience, especially with how 1.19 handles version-change chunk border generation.
Hausmaster has to be looking for a way out atp. Removing the biggest reason the server was famous in the first place is crazy.
