256k download (made mostly in early 2021) includes around 17k pre1.8 signs, as opposed to around 450k post1.8 signs. Note that naturally generated signs (like in igloos) count as pre1.8 signs even if they were generated afterwards. I'd say more that it shows how rare it is for signs to survive on the server in general.
you also have to account for the fact that the signs were most likely destroyed sometime before the video was made, so only 2 signs from pre-2016 survived
For covering up your tracks in the nether, you don't have to get an alt to destroy your nether portal. If you set your spawn on the overworld side of the portal, you can go into the nether side with only a diamond pickaxe, dismantle your old portal, throw all your items into lava and jump into it, respawning in the overworld, leaving no trace.
This is a pretty neat accomplishment, considering how bases, stashes, etc. can get griefed or stolen often by players. Great production on the video as always! Props to you and _xque :^)

Most interesting was the number of signs that have not been tampered with or destroyed. I remember traveling the X+ cords on 2b2t and the overworld was full of new and old grifed bases. Some had even duplicated items. Like a tower made out of pure beacons.
These diagrams are not to scale. There is an enourmous, unfathomable amout of square space between the diagonal roads and the border. And the further out you go, the more space there be.

@@fastvincent1 It works for me without problems. You need to look straight down for it to work, max speed is 40 m/s. also this mod does not allow you to bounce in a tunnel 2 blocks high, only 3 or higher

The exploit he's talking about is probably the nocom exploit. Look up when it was patched. If you started building after then in 1.12 chunks, you're in the clear. From memory it was patched just after I arrived at my base site. Nothing had been built yet and there were few chests so there would have been very little for the exploit to spot or work with. That combined with the overkill distance from spawn means I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear.
The overall terrain will look significantly different. 1.12.2 chunks have smaller hills and mountains compared to 1.19 chunks, and you can also use the copper ore module in a client to see if you're in 1.19 chunks

untrue, active exploit this year. anything made pre update should be considered compromised, and distance means nothing.
Post update made using chunk trails much harder for base hunters, so we’ll see what kind of exploit they will try this time.
