Son Volt pay homage to the legendary Doug Sahm on the new album Day Of The Doug, out June 16th via Transmit Sound/Thirty Tigers. Son Volt founder Jay Farrar’s goal with this 12-song collection was not only to pay tribute to Sahm’s music and influence, but to also highlight some of the deeper tracks in his heralded canon, specifically from a prolific period during the late 1960s through the 1970s.

@@johnrasmussen1759 I’ve been a great fan of Son Volt from the time I aw them on Austin City Limits in the 90’s . My husband and I have seen them 5 times over the years and I got to meet Jay he was so nice and friendly and mostly down to earth. I hope he comes to my city on this tour ❤️

My radio station will not stop playing this song, and I hate it. In protest, Ive decided to come by and insult the song every time they play it. It makes me want to chase rainbows. I can see why you hung it up, my friend. Things were never going to take off for you. You made a very wise choice going back home. Let's just pull this song off line today.
