He one of my best childhood friends dad and my mothers friend from college, along with Jeff. Even in just daily life, he isn’t super talkative, but he is such a great and chill guy.

Now, is it just me, or does Farrar not speak on camera very much? I've been following him and Tweedy since 1990 or so, and don't really remember hearing him talk except for clips from performances.

Probably a bit late but how does a person communicate the wish to buy one of these guitars? Are there any (or others) still for sale? I’d sell several guitars to buy any instrument that Jay played. And yeah, cool to see a bit of Jay’s personality. Favorite singer/songwriter by a large margin. Okay Neil’s a close second…

its so weird that his taste in guitars is kind of like Jeff Tweedy's
TheZooropaBaby I feel like that’s the exact opposite of weird, it kinda makes perfect sense, even though they had their creative/personal differences
They came from the same influences originally. Tweedy just took his music in a completely bizarre direction whereas Jay stuck to his roots more.

Probably not. He's likely got a large collection of stuff and wants to convert some of it to money, especially if he's not using that particular gear anymore. Also, I think his kids are nearing the age where they are looking to go to college, so he could be raising money for them.
Note that Jeff Tweedy also sold a bunch of gear on Reverb a year or two ago. If you look at current videos of his loft in Chicago, it's clear he could have another five Reverb sales and still not get rid of everything.
