I've never heard of son volt before until this past week, I heard them playing at the gym that I was at, wow where the hell have I been. This music is so beautiful. And I can't stop listening to it.
Ok this is the night I fell in love with this band while door dashing. It popped up on my country playlist and I have me some new music to check out going forward through their catalog. Great band!
Much of the Depression-era footage in this video is drawn from the 1936 documentary, "The Plow That Broke the Plains." Brilliant re-purposing. Saw Son Volt at First Avenue in Minneapolis earlier this year. Great show.
A day or so before the official release WXPN of Philadelphia played this song. By the end of the first verse I resolved to go home, find it, learn it and begin singing it. It's been rough going the last several months, and songs like this remind me that there is still hope. Great work! Thank you so much for doing it. I hope, selfishly, that there's more like this coming. This is the first I've seen the video, and it's a perfect companion to the song. Well done.
Nice to see views numbering at over 2,000 for the bright, powerful Son Volt. What a joke this world is, and I'm afraid its back really is against the wall, when Taylor Swift has 250,000,000 views offering what it does, but this doesn't?!
