Glad you stated in this video to disconnect battery. Fan still ran after installing sensor but once disconnected battery it worked. Left Teflon tape in.
OMG thank you! We have a 2015 GMC sierra and we changed the sensor and thermostat and it didn’t fix till……we disconnected the battery for about 5 to 10 minutes and it WORKED. You saved us so much money and time.🎉

Thank you so much for posting this video! I changed my coolant temp sensor, thermostat and filled overflow with coolant and it still didn’t correct the issue. After disconnecting my battery and letting the electronics reset the temp gauge started reading temp and cooling fans stopped running. I was ready to remove teflon tape and dive deep. THANK YOU!
This was the last step that I missed. Great series and thankfull for part 3. We getting a little frustrated not fixing it after part 1 and 2. Left the teflon tape on. Just reset the battery. Thank you!!
This worked! Thank you!! My Fans would stay on while the truck was "running cold", when i knew it was not. changed the temperature sensor, added Teflon tape and the fans stopped kicking in but my temperature was still running cold.. 🤔. Saw this video, removed pressure from the coolant system by opening the radiator cap, unhooked the battery, took out the Teflon from the temperature sensor and voila! Accurate reading... thanks 🤙
Your advice got me thru! Replaced sensor n thermostat but fan was still blowing high n gauge wouldn't read. Then after I disconnected reconnected battery, everything went back to normal! Thx man!🤙🏽
Thanks guys!! Had this exact issue with my 2016 Sierra and changed both thermostat & sensor. Same issue, battery reset, left Teflon on the sensor and it works fine!
Glad we could help out! 🙌 I had to figure this issue out on my own and made the videos as I went. Everything I explain in the video is something I learned the hard way!
Thanks man!!! Saved me from a shop charge today. I replace the censor and the thermostat and the fans were still on. I removed the Teflon tape and disconnected the battery to reset the computer and was good to go. Appreciate you!!!!
You talked about resetting your electrical by unhooking the battery cable, "Didn't work", you said most likely i didn't change out the thermostat, so I changed it. Started it again, "Didn't work" same thing, the fans revved really high. So I got a brain fart to reset the computer by unplugging the battery cable again for the second time, just for shits and giggles. It worked..THANKYOU FOR POINTING OUT WHAT NO ONE ELSE DID, You must reset the computer when you replace both the sensor and the Thermostat. Had you not said anything I would of never done it, Thank you
Thanks for watching Joel! I appreciate the feedback. Not everyone, but we did have several people tell us the fix didn't work for them. This was meant as a trouble shooting technique for those individuals. We're bringing more stuff soon!
I put Teflon on the sensor and out worked but I had to have the code reset before the temp read correctly and the fans went back to normal. Watched this vid before having the codes reset when it wasn't working and thought I was going to have to tear apart again to remove Teflon. Maybe put an update on that first video about no Teflon and having codes reset or unhooking battery would probably work as well
Thank you for this 3 part series, followed all 3 and my trucks back running great, dealership was going to charge me almost a thousand ended up doing it for a fraction of the cost.
Awesome! Thank you for this video. Replaced the sensor, nothing changed. UNPLUGGING BATTERY finished the job, reset the computer to let it know working sensor was in place... THANK YOU!
Disconnected battery for about 15 min. Problem came back about 2 weeks later. Turns out gonna have to replace thermostat. Gonna check out the brother's video on that too...
@@dinoalexakos5564 so I have a 2016 Silverado Ltz and the radiator fan stays on the entire time the truck is running. Also the ac don’t get cold until 10-30 minutes. Then is blows super cold all day. I changed the coolant temp sensor and disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and it still doing the same thing. I’m not getting any codes and my gauge on the inside is reading correctly. Any ideas?
@@baileyhodges2584 Not sure. It could be a totally unrelated issue. When I was having the problem, the radiator fan stayed on after turning off the car. The coolant wasn't flowing - no pressure in line - and temp guage stayed buried at 160deg, so I don't think it was working. Which leads me to conclude my issue has to be the thermostat. That's my next weekend project when we have good weather. Problem has reoccurred a total of 3 times, first time replaced sensor, the other two, unplugged battery for about 10-15 min. Not sure it's safe or smart to keep fixing the issue that way, so gonna swap out thermostat next. Good Luck!
watched the first video and it didn't work. fan still ran. I knew I should have disconnected my battery but didn't lol. I even told the wife. later that night i tried to start my truck but was did then saw this video. disconnected battery for 10 mins then jumped it. all good after. Thanks guys
Thank for your videos. 1st it was the temp sensor helped for like 4-5 days. I'm always OEM. After that I noticed the fan was coming in still. One time killing the battery because it stayed on. Saw your video about next step. Not only that, but I also noticed rhe temp sensor still reading but the we needed the heater. I could feel the heat fluctuate to normal warm too cool all in a quick sudden with touching the controls. I then looked at the coolant reading for remaining of the trip. That's when I noticed it too was fluctuating half way to 210° back to 160. That's what solidify the next step. Now at 248k... Let's still if it'll still into the next cold months. Next is too tackle the trans issue if nothing else. He's a good truck!
Thanks for the upload it helped me get through this situation I was able to replace the thermostat and the sensor unplug the battery so that the computer can read the new sensor was in
Ok.... Switched out the temp sensor.... fan was still running . Was about to get all into how that GM 's mama yipped and yapped at horses hooves while herding cows,When I looked at this video ....all I did was unplug the negative terminal on the Sierra truck for 1 minute ish ( I looked it up how long) Put cable back on there and ..... this fixed it Thanks a bunch guys and GOD BLESS Y'ALL!!!😇
I thing the lesson to learn is to replace both items. My vehicle is a 2015 Chevy Suburban I'm Not taking chances I will replace both snd definitely No TEFLON tape Thanks for your videos Bro...
Interestingly enough, I did this service to replace the coolant sensor. It still did the same thing with the fans running and temp gauge wasn't working. Then the AC stopped working as well. I was like ok this is getting worse. Then on the next drive about 5 min in pow everything is working, temp gauge is working and AC kicks back in. I was thinking if something reset itself, but it started working without having to disconnect the battery. Thought that was interesting and crazy. I do like knowing the computer might need reset which is good to remember for the future.
Thank you so much for the help! I did not know about disconnecting the battery. Almost replaced the thermostat after replacing the sensor didn't work. Found this video did the reset and it worked!
I forgot to disconnect the battery while replacing my sensor until seeing this. I hope that's the problem otherwise it's on to the thermostat I guess. Thanks for the reminder haha
just experienced this fan issue on my 14 sierra. my immediate thought was temp sensor or thermostat. did research and it looks to be it.. BUT in my case what i did was while driving i popped in my obd2 elm bt adapter, and literally cleared the code while i was driving with TORQUE lol and the fan stopped and guage dial corrected itself to the actual current temp. Just in case these videos dont help the issue try that, i literally stopped the fan and corrected the problem with a simple fault clear. I'm sure theres still an underlying problem which i'll do the sensor and thermostat if this happens again, but i took a lazy man approach today.
I responded to your comment on another one of our videos. Please watch all three of our videos replace the thermostat and the sensor. Once you do that disconnect the battery to reset the computer and you won't have any more issues.
I've replaced my sensor twice and reset my battery. It works for a day then goes back out. Is it just a run of bad sensors? Will not having the right amount of coolant make them go out? I put water in my radiator till I get to the bottom of the problem
Hey thanks for the video. replaced both, did the disconnect trick but sadly im having issues. This is what is occuring. 1st drive everything is fine. no issues. but if i start the vehicle up a 2nd time the chance of the fans kicking on increases. sometimes it does, otheres it doesnt. but normally i can expect it to happen at the 4th turn on of the drive. disconnecting/wait/reconnect fixes the issue, but it constantly comes back. suggestions on next step would be nice, dealer wont do anything bc they cant replicate the issue even tho ive explained it.
Hey I replaced the thermostat, the coolant temp sensor and the coolant temp sensor wire and after I disconnected and connected the battery still having same issue the fan is constantly running right when I connect the battery any ideas what else could be wrong?
Any other suggestions…. Replaced both the thermostat and temp sensor , disconnected the battery and this worked for a couple weeks and now same issue with fan running again.
I have swapped out the temp sensor a couple of years ago six months later and does same thing. I always reset the battery and it might last one month or 7 months so that tells me it’s not a part failure it must be an electrical connection? Sometimes it actual will fix it self while running or it will be running fine then the temp drops, but 99% of the time when you start it you can tell if it’s going to be fine or not. A battery reset always fixes it so that tells me it’s not the sensor itself? Would love to dig in deeper on what’s actually causing it.
Hey Jason, I'm wondering if you may have more going on. All of the steps we took fixed our issue. Nothing has happened since following all of the steps we talked about.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop that's great to hear. I've not replaced the thermostat but I just have a hard time convincing myself a thermostat will make it all go away. If it does I'd be glad to do it, but if it is I just can't convince myself reseting the battery would fix a thermostat issue? I'm hoping others will chime in and say there problem went away completely too or are they having the same issue? The good thing is reseting the battery is an easy fix. lol
We've had this issue and replaced the sensor and thermostat on three of our own trucks. This fixes this issue and after replacing both parts and reset the computer, this issue has not come back. If you read the comments, most people have successfully been able to fix this issue themselves by replacing both parts and resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery.
If you don't want to try it, I understand. However, it's a cheep fix that you can hand done in less than an hour. We made these videos because this fixed worked for us, and continues to hold true.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop I appreciate you help. I'm going to replace the sensor and the thermostat and check back after. I hope you're right and thanks for the messages.
I have a 2015 Yukon XL Denali which continues to have this problem. We have replaced everything a million times such as the temp sensors, wire harness, removing the tape, etc, disconnecting the battery basically every time now that I drive the truck. The only thing that turns the fan off is disconnecting the battery but then it’s back up and running shortly after I drive it a few miles and stays on. Do you think replacing the pcm would be next?
I'm really not sure. Following the steps in this video, we have fixed four of our trucks and have had no issues since. If you fold all these steps and the issue continues you may have another issue. I would have it diagnosed by a local professional.
O have changed thermostat and temperature sensor on My 2014 GMC Sierra and the gauge is still 160° and the fans still running on high and still run after I shut the engine off ???
I replaced my sensor went bad fans were on and gauge reading cold. Worked great for 8 days then went bad again. I just replaced it again and it's back up and working good again... new one is a duralast. The one that broke in 8 days was a value craft. Hope it doesn't happen again?
Danny, following these steps. Replace the sensor and the thermostat. Then disconnect the battery to reset the computer. You shouldn't have any issues if done correctly.
We changed the sensor and fan kept running, took it to a electrical specialist and they changed the battery and everything seem to be fixed a month later we are having the same issue with a check engine light? Any thoughts? Thank you for your help.
I disconnected the battery for over 24 hours and couple days after. The fan still back back on. Sensor and thermostat both been replaced. What other solutions should i seek?
This fix is for a specific issue. It sounds like your truck has something else going on with it. I recommend having it diagnosed by a local professional. Let us know what's going on with it.
What relay was it?? I’ve changed thermostat, temp sensor, unhooked battery all these steps four times with gm parts. And cleared codes with my snapon scanner. I’m about to lose my mind
2016 Silverado- Changed out thermostat, sensor and both 40 amp relay, disconnected battery and still both fans stay on. There is no warning light on the dash, took both 40 amp fuses out and of course it stopped. What else would be causing this.
Hi, I'm Having this same issue on a 2015 silverado... Changed the sensor and thermostat and all and still the gauge goes to 0 or 160 and the fans come on and constantly run... Any more causes of this issue?
First of all thanks for the reply.. Yes sir I disconnected the battery and it ran fine for a couple of days then the same thing happened with it... You haven't had anymore problems with yours since you replaced those two things..? I'm thinking I need to switch to a 207 thermostat instead of the 160.. ? IDK but will keep messing with it.. Thanks for the video
Yeah, after replacing the thermostat and the sensor I have had no issues. I went with the manufacturer specified parts. I'm not sure why there is different thermostats, but one of them is probably for a different motor or different vehicle. For the 1500 series trucks there are three different motors. For the 2500 to 3500 series you have one gas motor and one diesel motor. I would double check to make sure you haven't picked up the wrong thermostat. This video and replacement was done on the 5.3 l v8. However, we have done this on the 4.3 V6.
Hello brothers workshop… I have triple checked and everything is back how is supposed to be… the only thing I have yet to do is removing the Teflon tape which I am doing… but I replaced the sensor and the thermostat and now the fan won’t turn on and the temp goes to 210 (the middle) …. Will keep you posted
@@TheBrothersWorkshop so apparently the thermostat I purchased which is a duralast at autozone doesn’t activate the at the same temperature as the factory GM thermostat so the temperature goes up to 210 degrees (middle of the gage) but does not get past that point and the fan does turn on but now instead of the temperature staying below the middle of the gage… it is right at the middle. Did this happen to you guys as well ?
@@christiane.montanez3885 this is happening to me as well. Fans do turn off when I turn the truck off now though. Before they would stay on after I turned the truck off. They just run constantly when the truck is on.. frustrating.. I’m also getting a bunch of other codes all of a sudden..
Hi I only replaced the sensor a couple of months ago and it fixed the problem but now the blower won’t stop again and the temp gauge won’t move off of 160. Will replacing the thermostat fix the issue? I should have done that when I replaced the sensor. Thanks for putting out such great videos!
Yes, you should replace both the sensor and the thermostat at the same time. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell what part went bad, so replacing both is the best way to do this. We replaced the sensor first and had the same thing happen. Replacing the thermostat fixed our issue permanently. Thanks for watching our videos! 🙌
We've replaced the coolant sensor and the thermostat (have disconnected the battery as well). The issue now is the fans won't turn on.. Any suggestions?
I have 2017 canyon and I have the same problem and I change the heat sensor but the fan won't turn off and I disconect the battery and after a month the problem came back and I disconnect the battery again and 3 days later the fan went on again, do I have to change the thermostat? Thanks
The motor you have is different, but it sounds like a similar problem. However, I laid it out in the video. If it continues, you need to make sure you replace both parts. That includes the thermostat.
Bad thermostat causes it to stay Open All the time. Never Allowing it to get up to running temperature. Replace First. Then disconnect battery for 20-30 minutes and reconnect
@@TheBrothersWorkshop turns out everything was good. Unfortunately, the sensor already went out yesterday. I bought a new sensor from a different brand and will be installing it today. I cant find an answer online but do you know how to relieve the pressure inside the coolant system so that I don’t lose any coolant during this process?

I also had the same issue, but it didn't really fix it. 2017 Silverado 6.2 l. Replaced thermostat and temp sensor. But I still disconnected the battery the whole time while I was repairing. My fan still kicks on high, but my thermostat is at proper engine temperature now. I have disconnected the battery numerous times, but the fans kick on high while I'm driving. also, my air vents in the front grill still function properly. I've gone through all the fuses as well. What am i missing? Little help from anyone with experience. Thanks
Sounds like you might have something else going on. The truck we worked on in the video has a 5.3. you may need to have your issue diagnosed by a professional.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop ended up that the dealership mechanic reset my fan temperature settings. Had a friend using HP TUNERS to custom set the fan temperature settings.
@@Viking690 did that work? I have a 2015 Yukon and we are about done with this fan issue. We have replaced just about everything 18 times and disconnected the battery a million. Fan is still running.

Also my ac won’t blow cold when I first start truck for the first 10-30minutes sometimes. Then it blows cold and does great all day. Then next day same thing 10-30 minutes not blowing cold then bam. Good for the rest of the day. I feel like the problems are related
Hey Mike, sounds like you have an issue we are unaware of. When you replaced the sensor and the thermostat did everything go back to normal? Is the only issue with your HVAC?
Need to clear the codes with scanner and be good to go.the code is for engine temp not coming up to range .when code sets it go into a default aka fans running all the time
Even if you clear the codes, it will happen again. This is because you haven't fixed the problem. Remember, the truck has an underlying issue. This idea is no different than disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it. Eventually the problem will come back.
I realize that .just replace the t-stat and temp sensor next to it .having a diagnostic scanner to read data and troubleshoot the problem . Not to just throw parts at it .factory had there thinking caps on to have the programing for such a safeguard
If you followed all of the steps correctly there should be no issues. Did you disconnect the battery and reset the computer? If so, is the truck displaying other issues? You may have another problem, it's hard to say without knowing exactly what's going on with your truck.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop so I disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then hooked it back up put the key on to just before it starts waited few minutes then started it and shut it off, I then started it again and went for a ride seems to be ok I'm gonna try again shortly I think it worked. Saw this video, removed pressure from the coolant system by opening the radiator cap, unhooked the battery, took out the Teflon from the temperature sensor and voila! Accurate reading... thanks 🤙
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching. 🤙
Your advice got me thru! Replaced sensor n thermostat but fan was still blowing high n gauge wouldn't read. Then after I disconnected reconnected battery, everything went back to normal! Thx man!🤙🏽
Glad to hear it bro! 🤙
Thanks guys!! Had this exact issue with my 2016 Sierra and changed both thermostat & sensor. Same issue, battery reset, left Teflon on the sensor and it works fine!
I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 🤙
Man good thing I found this video , I changed the sensor and it was still turned on and I checked your last video and came to this one and solved it
Glad we could help out!
No problem! Glad I could help save you some cash. Those shop charges are out of control, especially at the stealership... I mean dealership. 😂
Had you not said anything I would of never done it, Thank you
Your my hero....😁😁
Glad we could help you out bro! 🤙
Your first video showing how to replace the sensor worked for me. I appreciate your quality videos keep up the good work!
I'm glad to hear that! 🙌
Awesome! Thank you for this video. Replaced the sensor, nothing changed. UNPLUGGING BATTERY finished the job, reset the computer to let it know working sensor was in place...
THANK YOU!
Glad we could help Dino!! 🤙
How long did you disconnect the battery ?
Thanks guys
How is your truck holding up?
This channel is so badass. Everything is so informative and accurate. THANK YOU for helping us out!
Thanks dude!!! 🙌 I appreciate the kind words.
Thanks for your help man , I just did all that and now is working fine . Great job
Thanks man! I really appreciate that. 🙌
*thank you, *without
Glad we could help out Tommy! 🙌 What's going on with your transmission?
Disconnected and reconnected the battery after 10 seconds and problem solved ✌🏼.. thank you
Glad we could help!
Thank you very much!! I replaced the sensor and thermostat and the fan still wouldn't cut off. Once i unhooked the battery all my problems went away.
Awesome! Glad it worked for you. How's it holding up over time?
Did it work for a while? Bud
Thank you I did everything except remove the Teflon tape because my original had it and by disconnecting the battery it worked thanks again
Hey Javier! Thanks for watching the video. Glad we could help you out.
THANK YOUUUUU!!!!!! Disconnecting the battery did it!!!! 🙌🏼

Thanks for the upload it helped me get through this situation I was able to replace the thermostat and the sensor unplug the battery so that the computer can read the new sensor was in
Sounds good dude! Glad we could help you out! 🙌🤙
It was the battery for me. You are awesome!

Ok.... Switched out the temp sensor.... fan was still running . Was about to get all into how that

We're very glad we could help and everything worked out!
Yup I disconnected the battery and it did the trick thanks man
Awesome!
Me too.
Thank you for the video. I replaced both pieces and the fans were still on until I did this start working properly.
Glad we could help!
I thing the lesson to learn is to replace both items.
My vehicle is a 2015 Chevy Suburban I'm Not taking chances I will replace both snd definitely No TEFLON tape
Thanks for your videos Bro...

Took off the teflon and disconnected the battery!! LIKE A GLOVE!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Thanks for the assist. Replaced the sensor but fan was still running. After disconnecting then reconnecting the battery the fan turned off.

Is there a second engine temperature sensor other than the coolant sensor that is beside the thermostat? Any ideas on where it would be located?
Thank you guys very good video I did what’s you guys said and it’s everything working now
Glad we could help!
Aww man u jus saved me 58.00 on a thermostat for now 🎉🎉
Heck yeah!! 🙌🤙
Changed thermostat and that fixed it.
Awesome!
It worked for me! Thanks man your videos helped me out a lot!
I'm glad it worked! Thanks for watching.
You the MAN!!!
Thank you!! 🙌
Thanks for this info... Saved a lot of time, and headaches...
No problem, I'm glad it helped out.
Thank you so much for the help! I did not know about disconnecting the battery. Almost replaced the thermostat after replacing the sensor didn't work. Found this video did the reset and it worked!
Glad it helped!
I removed the 2 40amp fueses overnight and popped them back in before I took off the next morning about 3 mounths ago and haven't had the issue since.
I forgot to disconnect the battery while replacing my sensor until seeing this. I hope that's the problem otherwise it's on to the thermostat I guess. Thanks for the reminder haha
Did it work?
@TheBrothersWorkshop i think so. It messed up the next day but haven't had a problem with it since
Videos saved me
Glad to hear it!!
just experienced this fan issue on my 14 sierra. my immediate thought was temp sensor or thermostat. did research and it looks to be it..
Thank you so much!!!! Both your videos helped tremendously!!! I am now a subscriber!!!!
Thank you!! Glad to hear it! 🙂
Happy New Year brother’s, make it a good one 👍🏻
Thanks Sean for the supplement how to do it well 😊
Hey Henk! Happy New Year! We're working on some good stuff for you!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
No problem at all!
I've replaced my sensor twice and reset my battery. It works for a day then goes back out. Is it just a run of bad sensors? Will not having the right amount of coolant make them go out? I put water in my radiator till I get to the bottom of the problem
I just replaced my sensor. worked fine for a week, then fans came back blowing. Going to replace the thermostat today.
Remember to disconnect the battery!
@The Brothers Workshop replaced the thermostat and disconnected the battery. All good to go now! Thank you for all the help. You da man!
Double check your work. Remove any Teflon tape. There may be a loose wire or something. This fix should not have any issues if done correctly.
Hey I replaced the thermostat, the coolant temp sensor and the coolant temp sensor wire and after I disconnected and connected the battery still having same issue the fan is constantly running right when I connect the battery any ideas what else could be wrong?
Double check your work. Remove any Teflon tape and check your fuses. There is a chance something wasn't done correctly.
Any other suggestions…. Replaced both the thermostat and temp sensor , disconnected the battery and this worked for a couple weeks and now same issue with fan running again.
You might have a different issue. I would double check your work, and if it continues have your truck diagnosed by a local professional.
Reset the trucks computer.
Update I replaced both thermostat and sensor durlast brand, working great 👍
Glad to hear it! 🤙
@@TheBrothersWorkshop Replaced the sensor the fan continued to run, reset the battery now its working just fine.
We changed the sensor and fan kept running, took it to a electrical specialist and they changed the battery and everything seem to be fixed a month later we are having the same issue with a check engine light? Any thoughts? Thank you for your help.
Also, the AC is not working?
Well, we didn't have a check engine light. I would check the code and see what it says.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop so apparently it was the grounding cable causing all sorts of electrical issues
Any tips on burping the lines? to get any air pocket out
No, but I'm sure someone here does. Let us know!!
Relay
What relay was it?? I’ve changed thermostat, temp sensor, unhooked battery all these steps four times with gm parts. And cleared codes with my snapon scanner. I’m about to lose my mind
going through this now. what was the fix?@@mainstreetdiesel
2016 Silverado- Changed out thermostat, sensor and both 40 amp relay, disconnected battery and still both fans stay on. There is no warning light on the dash, took both 40 amp fuses out and of course it stopped. What else would be causing this.
If you followed all of the steps in this video correctly, than you may have a different issue.
What about the relay?
I'm not sure what your asking? You need to elaborate...
Hi, I'm Having this same issue on a 2015 silverado... Changed the sensor and thermostat and all and still the gauge goes to 0 or 160 and the fans come on and constantly run... Any more causes of this issue?
Did you watch the video? Make sure you disconnect the battery. That resets the computer.
Ok thank you for making these kind of videos for the at home UA-cam mechanic.. I appreciate it
Hello brothers workshop… I have triple checked and everything is back how is supposed to be… the only thing I have yet to do is removing the Teflon tape which I am doing… but I replaced the sensor and the thermostat and now the fan won’t turn on and the temp goes to 210 (the middle) …. Will keep you posted
Keep us posted and disconnect the battery to reset the computer
@@TheBrothersWorkshop so apparently the thermostat I purchased which is a duralast at autozone doesn’t activate the at the same temperature as the factory GM thermostat so the temperature goes up to 210 degrees (middle of the gage) but does not get past that point and the fan does turn on but now instead of the temperature staying below the middle of the gage… it is right at the middle. Did this happen to you guys as well ?
We didn't have any issues with our thermostat. Did you get the correct one for your truck? It's been a while, do you have any updates on this issue?
@@christiane.montanez3885 this is happening to me as well. Fans do turn off when I turn the truck off now though. Before they would stay on after I turned the truck off. They just run constantly when the truck is on.. frustrating.. I’m also getting a bunch of other codes all of a sudden..
If the thermostat is stuck wide open could I still drive it 40 miles for the part? Fans also blowing really hard and 35 degrees out
Hey Cody, I drove for 6 hours with this issue. I wouldn't recommend doing that, but.omce I replaced everything, I had no issues.
Did you get it fixed
Your links aren't showing up.
Not sure why... 🤔 Check the description below! They are all definitely linked there.
We've replaced the coolant sensor and the thermostat (have disconnected the battery as well). The issue now is the fans won't turn on.. Any suggestions?
Make sure you have connected everything correctly. Make sure you did not disconnect something else by accident.
Having the same issue
I have 2017 canyon and I have the same problem and I change the heat sensor but the fan won't turn off and I disconect the battery and after a month the problem came back and I disconnect the battery again and 3 days later the fan went on again, do I have to change the thermostat? Thanks
The motor you have is different, but it sounds like a similar problem. However, I laid it out in the video. If it continues, you need to make sure you replace both parts. That includes the thermostat.
@@TheBrothersWorkshop I change the heat sensor already....thanks so much..
Bad thermostat causes it to stay Open All the time. Never Allowing it to get up to running temperature. Replace First. Then disconnect battery for 20-30 minutes and reconnect

Changed my sensor and it reads my engine temp correctly but now my radiator fan wont turn on. Any ideas?
Make sure you have the correct sensor. Also, double check your work. Is everything connected?
@@TheBrothersWorkshop turns out everything was good. Unfortunately, the sensor already went out yesterday. I bought a new sensor from a different brand and will be installing it today.
I cant find an answer online but do you know how to relieve the pressure inside the coolant system so that I don’t lose any coolant during this process?
So I replaced the coolant temperature sensor and my fans come on soon as I start it.any idea please any you no would be great help

Bad fan relays?
@@TheBrothersWorkshop ended up that the dealership mechanic reset my fan temperature settings. Had a friend using HP TUNERS to custom set the fan temperature settings.
@@Viking690 did that work? I have a 2015 Yukon and we are about done with this fan issue. We have replaced just about everything 18 times and disconnected the battery a million. Fan is still running.
@@jillcomfort9971 yes it did correct my problem with my fans. Using HP tuners getting into the system settings and to control the fans

@@TheBrothersWorkshop do you think it would be the thermostat even tho the temperature is reading correctly inside the truck?
Also my ac won’t blow cold when I first start truck for the first 10-30minutes sometimes. Then it blows cold and does great all day. Then next day same thing 10-30 minutes not blowing cold then bam. Good for the rest of the day. I feel like the problems are related
It wouldn't hurt to try. It's an inexpensive part and very easy to replace.
I'm honestly not sure what the could be aside from an issue with your ac condenser. If you replace the thermostat, let us know if it fixes the issue.
I did all of that on my 2014 ,my fans scream when I turn on the a/c and the heat ,how come any ideas
Hey Mike, sounds like you have an issue we are unaware of. When you replaced the sensor and the thermostat did everything go back to normal? Is the only issue with your HVAC?
Its seems to be ,it just seems like the fans run loud and are on all the time .I even change out the ambient air sensor in the grill
There might be something wrong with the fan itself. 🤔 That's very strange.
I just changed out the thermostat and sensor and fans still run after truck is off
Take the negative post off of battery for 10 min
@@royevans9904 ok ty brother ill try that
Exactly what I was about to say.
Give this full video a watch. We explain that you need to disconnect the battery to reset your trucks computer.
Ok I took battery cable off. That fixed the fan issue but gauge is still on 160 degrees
I replaced sensor, thermostat and disconnect the battery but Still have the issue
Make sure you follow all of the steps correctly. If you did and this still occurs, you may have a different issue.
I did the thermostat and the coolant temperature sensor fans comes on stays on
If you followed all of the steps correctly there should be no issues.
I'm gonna put a different thermostat in today a 194 instead of the 160
It's been 4 days. Any updates?
@@TheBrothersWorkshop everything works good, temp still don't go up near the middle but I got good heat, I'm gonna check the cabin filter later to see if that's causing me the restriction on airflow..otherwise all 👍 good. Thanks again
