Had not heard this one before but it was great, Deep Purple are a very unique rock band very tight instrumentals always and great rock lyrics of their songs..Ty for the reaction Keep Strong Keep Safe My Dear Friend
DP. The quintessential, for me, Prog rock turned Metal/Hard Rock/Blues group. And Jon (RIP) bringing the orchestra back again. This song pays homage and respect to the supportive families back home. I have had the honor of knowing DP for 20 + years and been with them on the road to assist with occasional physio strain and medical issue. And whilst touring is not glamorous and at times tedious, they live for it and LOVE it1 They just finished touring this past Oct 2019, and after 50+ years are still going strong. "Whooosh" comes out in June!!
christine parmley thanks for sharing, Christine! Very cool indeed to hear from someone who tours with the band. I love it. And it’s great to hear they are as genuine as they appear to be on stage. Thanks for your work keeping them fit.(i’m the one who made this request so I’m extra happy to hear from you. I’ve been a fan since 1972.)
Never heard this song before but I like it. That crying guitar. Wow! It's just amazing to me how some people can pour their soul out thorough an instrument. This man did that. David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) is another that does. Yup. Definitely a night time song.
"It's just amazing to me how some people can pour their soul out thorough an instrument." Steve Morse is indeed brilliant. One of the very best. But if you want to hear the ultimate guitarist of this type, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/KqXZcM1G44s/v-deo.html Andy Latimer's face at 9.10 shows jus how much emotion he puts into his playing.
Ty, glad you enjoyed! I will answer your question. Deep Purple was my favorite band growing up but then their guitar player left so I didn’t know if that was the end of the band But then when I heard that they were putting an album out with a new guitar player, one I already really liked and respected, I was excited but nervous. This song was on that first album with the new guitar player. For me it also is a great driving song. That guitar melody is just so beautiful. The whole song is, for me. So, this song, more so than any other on that first album with Steve, gave me hope that the new version of the band would be one that I would enjoy.
AGDinCA that’s very cool, thanks for relaying that I wasn’t the only one who had those thoughts and then this experience with this song. Morse is a master of the guitar. Different style from Ritchie but also truly great.
Thanks for this throwback! I haven't heard it in awhile. I love DP so much. They've been my favorite since I was 13! Something about having an orchestra backing just adds to the cool factor. 💜 This made me think back to when I first fell in love with the band. It was 1989 and I was 13. My friends were all into all the big 80s pop, hair metal, etc. One summer day, my ex-stepfather was doing something in the garage, jamming to some music. Bored, I wandered in and asked what band he was listening to. He was incredulous that I was unfamiliar with the song that was playing. So, he sat me down on the concrete garage floor (felt cool on a hot day), put gigantic headphones over my ears and fired up his 8-track player. From the opening second of Deep Purple's _Burn,_ I was hooked. Out poured the most powerful, transformative sounds I'd ever heard. The experience literally transfixed me. I ended up listening to the entire 8-track in one session, without ever getting up from that concrete floor.
AGDinCA That is an AWESOME story. Thank you for relating it. I had a very similar reaction to them when I was your age. You have good taste, my friend!
kirk capp Ian gillan never did the stage play he only performed on the original Jesus Christ superstar album because of his commitment to deep purple. It is the one that is copied and followed by everybody else Gillan set the template for the sound of the album..
Love some Deep Purple. Seeing Steve Morse is a pleasant surprise. I haven't heard his name in a long time. Cool song, but what else would you expect from Deep Purple?
I have never heard this Deep Purple song before 🤔 it's okay. Oh I love your adorable dog 💖 melted my heart when he lovingly put his head on your chest 😍 so cute! 🙏😁👍
‘God bless you through Jesus ‘ such a bold pronouncement and my favorite part of this video. The band has been around since 1968 and perhaps your fans selected this tune which in my opinion expresses a musical culmination which shows a maturity in musicianship not always present in popular music. Steve’s chords and phrasing really shine and continue to take this rock band into new territory.
Another great reaction Steve Morse was the lead guitar player in the band Kansas you may have reacted to their songs Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind both are classics.
Great song HOWEVER.. this goes out to Baylian . (Sorry if I spell it wrong, I respelled it.. watch I probably spelled it correctly the first time ) Anyway, I absolutely adore him, as you know- Not only is he LITERALLY a genius, but those kind, sweet eyes! Aw-😩❤️ They’re better and more sincere than a lot of humans! I love you precious, perfect B!!! Sending love always Ty- ❤️❤️💛💛🤘🏼✌️
For another (very different) song from the same set of shows, here's keyboardist Jon Lord with Sam Brown with "wait a while." Lovely song made all the more bittersweet by Jon's passing. RIP. ua-cam.com/video/A9c3vWosL1Y/v-deo.html Warning: not a rocker.
I just had to make a separate post for YOUR DOG! Oh, my gawd... he is too precious. When he laid his head against your chest I thought I would die from the cuteness factor. 🐕💜 What kind of dog is that?
So I went to see the concert tour of Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, & Deep Purple. I dont like Deep Purple but i wanted to see other’s badly so I went with an open mind. I still dont like them, never will. But they can play like crazy! Just not my cup of tea 🤷🏻♀️☕️
Mike Simonian ha! Id seen them prior to the Aerosmith tour with Metallica (whom was the band I really went to see).. walked down towards mosh pit & got my nose broken within 1 min (im small!) & had to sit through the show with a broken nose to see Metallica, ha! Those were the days ... and for the record, Ive seen tons & tons of artists/bands & GNR in their prime, when Axl wasnt being a dick, wasnt bad live, but not as great as i’d hoped 🤷🏻♀️💁🏻♀️. But i was also 12 first time (86) & then 14 & boy were they so much better the first show!
The dog stole the show. I couldn't stop watching him - he's a beauty.
Steve Morse is my favorite guitar player. This was 1999, the Late, Great Jon Lord on keys.
Mine also. His solo stuff and with the Dixie Dregs is absolutely brilliant. Amazing composer.
Agreed Lee... love both of his Major Impacts albums.
Awesome. I only heard the 70s Deep Purple. Loved this..thank you for requesting and thank you MRM reacting.
The dog knows a good song :)
So sweet the way you two shared the experience. :)
That dog knows what Deep Purple are all about, rock with the dog
What a dear dog!!! I can tell you love him back. Thanks for the Deep Purple! They began in 1968 and have a new album coming out in June!!!
Had not heard this one before but it was great, Deep Purple are a very unique rock band very tight instrumentals always and great rock lyrics of their songs..Ty for the reaction

Ian Gillian as Jesus in the original Jesus Christ Superstar stage play. Now that is awesome!!

What a beautiful pupper.

Dude, you've gotta check out the album version. Peace
Have to admit that I didn't listen to them much back then but I liked this.
P.S. Get the Pup some headphones. He wants to react too.
I just had to make a separate post for YOUR DOG! Oh, my gawd... he is too precious. When he laid his head against your chest I thought I would die from the cuteness factor. 🐕💜
What kind of dog is that?
He's a labradoodle.
@@Modern-Renaissance-Man so very cute
@@AGDinCA He's is very smart.
I have always love Dep Purple. Please play "Smoke on the Water". My favorite of all Deep Purple songs!
Why is it always this way overplayed song? How about Space Trucking, Sweet Child in Time, When a Blind Man Cries, Lazy etc...?
The worst song ever of the band
🤧😁
We have lost another country legend, Harold Reid of the Statler Brothers. Could you please pay tribute by reacting to My Only Love?
Please react to Roger Hodgson singing "Hide in your shell"
Try this for more Steve Morse:

Love Deep Purple, but not this one so much.
Oh my god I love your dog

matt becham lol! I dont like Billie! But I do like some Adele, simply because I relate to it lyrically 🙂
Guns and roses, pffft. I wanna gooooo! I wanna gooooo! Slash noodling on the guitar not making any sense. Crappy noise. No thanks.
