Me and my cousin recently got the game. I’m on steam and she’s on PS5. It says version mismatch when we load in. We’ve tried everything and it hasn’t worked. I doubt you’ll have an answer. But if you do, please help.

Something to keep in mind too, is that anyone in your system's friends' list will automatically be your NMS friend. So, if you're on Steam, your Steam friends will be NMS friends, if you're on Playstation, your Playstation friends will be NMS friends etc...
So this works the same with expeditions? Would they have to start a expedition save before joining my expedition save if we both want to do it together?
Appreciate the explanation this actually convinced me and a buddy to buy the game together and we have been enjoying it building two bases right next each other. But our bases dont always update or shownin each others games unfortunately

only a few hours ago I saw this game was 50% off in the Nintendo eshop, I did a quick search to see if No Man's Sky is cross-platform, and the search Google picks out for me says that the game is cross-play even for Nintendo switch, so I buy the game on a 50% discount with the intention of playing with my friend, only to find out now after 20 minutes of research that Nintendo switch is not cross-platform AT ALL. It's very annoying that misinformation was so easily accessible and that a clearcut answer was this hard to find. I know its not your fault I just wanted to rant, thanks for the clearcut answer

Great video! Thank you! But I’m having some issues: My friend and I have NMS on PS5. We’re already friends and started separate games. When we finally get to join each others games (after many ‘lost connection to host’ errors), we run around a bit, build, whatever, he gets a message that says I have left the system, and I get the same message. But he tells me, “I’m still here…” and so am I. We never left. Sometimes, we’ll randomly reconnect. Why is this? This makes it complicated. Also, how come when we both upload our separate bases on the same planet, when he offline, I can only see my building pieces and his base is completely gone? If I add decorations, they’ll just float on invisible walls until he signs on and joins me, when he does, the base slowly loads in. Someone help!
So we are having the same damn problem. Also, after yesterday’s (12/08/23) it didn’t fix a damn thing. Nine gigabyte patch and no multiplayer update!!! I’m so freaking pissed off!!!!
I'm not sure why, but I cant join my friend who is on console while I'm on PC. Their website says that this is possible. Ive enabled all the network settings to be open to friends, or anyone, and cross platform set to on too.

Hi. Newish player here so wanted to clarify something… so the only thing that multiplayer does is takes you to their location? I am right in thinking it is the same universe, right? So my system is the same instance as in their game (just far away)? So, in theory, I could use Glyphs to get to them without even using multiplayer?
@@steezwts9093 yes but likely not, because its NOT the same universe for everyone as I have understood it, there are game instances, you have to accidentally end up in the same " server " with you friend and then yes you are both in the same gigantic universe and can meet up, this is what the friend goups are for, it forces you to end up in the same " server " or " instance " so you can meet up for sure.

My question is: even if after turning off multiplayer, I still see planets discovered by other players (it says their name and I don’t need to scan the planet anymore). Why is that? Is that a feature I can turn off, so I can actually discover every planet myself or is this „shared world“ always on?

Unfortunately only PC has the ability to use text chat. If you are on console you need to use voice chat. Maybe they will change this at some point but it has been this way for years now. Thank you for watching.

@@abdulmajeedak I figured out that Microsoft doesn’t approve updates for No Mans Sky as quickly as they do on PC. So we just have to wait for Xbox to catch up so they can play with the rest of the world lol

So i (steam) started playing with my brother (ps5) yesterday, my brother found a perfect planet to build a base and started it without me, when i got there it had the worst climate for me but beautiful blue skies for him. Is there a way to sync the weather? Kinda sucks that im at 160f and firestorms almost all day lol. I realize we can try to find other planets but is this normal? Can we sync the weather?
It sounds like something went wrong. If you're brother is on that paradise planet you need to join his game, that should drop you in the system with the planet. Then just go to the planet and put down a base and you can make that your main planet for now. Climates do not change from player to player the only reason that could happen is you are not on the exact same planet or some sort of bug.
I can’t ever get it to work as soon as me and my friend join each other. It kicks us three seconds later I’ve been trying for five days now no luck. Both our internets are over 200 MBPS and every other game works perfect
@@BWREMYPISTOL no. Gave up and uninstalled it last week couldn’t play with the friends and was only reason why I got the game. Waste of so much time trying everything possible to play but nope nothing will work for you. My advice is to just play something else or do it solo! I will say though, if you make a friend that the anomaly, you will be able to play with that guy all day and it won’t kick you at all but if it’s one of your actual friends, you’ll never be able to play.

This error happens when PC and Consoles are not on the same version of no mans sky. Sometimes when updates come out PC will get them first so until everyone has the update you will get this error. Basically it is saying you can't join because the person you are trying to join is on a different version of the game. It is a temporary issue and should be resolved now as I believe everyone now has the update.
Actually recently lost my rig so settled for a mid range gaming pc for now running a RTX 3070, i7 12th gen, only 16GB ddr for now, 1TB M.3 NVMe SSD. Runs most games really well but I need to upgrade the ram. Thanks for watching

No you should not have to. In no man's sky you really don't even need to complete the tutorial. As long as you have started a game and logged off and back into that save and your friend has done the same you can join each other. It does not matter what you have done in game.
I'm on xbox and I've bumped into other players occasionally.. no way to communicate though so just a couple of waves and leave 🫤 this is a major problem

For xbox the friend code is not required if you are already xbox friends. It is only used if you are playing on seperate consoles (cross platform)

The game is crossplay so as long as you are playing online you should be able to play with your friend on ps5

version mismatch fix ?

No you should not have to. In no man's sky you really don't even need to complete the tutorial. As long as you have started a game and logged off and back into that save and your friend has done the same you can join each other. It does not matter what you have done in game.

PS5 and the other consoles do not have in game chat only voice chat. Only the PC version has the text chat.
