    I have the same only 2020. Did you add the K5 Coating? I added from and rear extra guide on trailer Makes it easier to load in currents.
    Does the Woolridge install over the existing jet housing? Great video

      I did have premium protective coatings install the k5 and wetlander. It makes it super slick and glides right on the trailer like rollers. The Woodridge actually replaces the factory intake boot.

    Hey Chris, I have a few observations after running more this weekend, 2 boats mine and my brothers. 1. Fuel mileage sucks, I will need to do something like you did. Maybe 35 mile range with stock tank running 3/4 throttle on up. Ran out of gas lol. Minn Kota to the rescue, he ran out on the way back to get more fuel. 2. My brothers 1860 ccj 90/65 2007 Yamaha has about 5 more miles of range roughly. His will run 32 down stream mine will run 35 plus sometimes max speed was almost 37 mph in his chop stream. They both get up on plane pretty close to being equal but the 80 will walk away fairly quickly once we both flatten out. 3. His boat no matter his speed or trimmed will not porpoise, mine does, they both appear to be equally setup in the tunnel area the same and being his is a 07 model it’s only 3 or 4 pounds lighter than the new version of the 115/80. If I’m wide open throttle and I trim up a little to reduce drag and raise the rear of the boat up I will start to porpoise some until I lower the trim back down some and then I will lose a little speed. Do you have any insight or knowledge of these boats that could be useful in setup or adding more accessories to make them a little better, I.E. type or brand of accessory fuel tank and size or anything else? Where did you get your stuff to add you additional fuel tank? Thanks!

      I get most of my stuff through lakeside marine in Harrisburg. They generally have the stuff on hand. Deffinantly need an additional tank for the long runs the factory 9 is not enough. I haven't been able to put more than that ever I don't think.

      Chris_Walker710 mines listed at 9 gal on Yamahas literature, but I can get 12 gals in it. I bought mine from Towne Marine, but lakeside is much closer. What auxiliary tank did you buy?

    Had a 2010 1860 dlx with jet liked the boat but the Bear trailer you gotta watch where the tongue fits in trailer is a weak spot mine cracked both top corners and Bear gave me the run around until i got ahold of NSTB and had them build me a new trailer without removable tongue for free new ones have a reinforced edge now that should help.

    Great Video I have the 2020 18 CCJ 115/80 It is a Fun boat and economical and roomy boat. Question when you first start it does it crank the steering wheel a little make it a little kind of erratic? Maybe it is a common for these boats? Mine does and I changed the helm which is to be a No Feedback Helm. Seems to still do it ?
    Curious position of the engine on transom? At the G3 factory, they install them about a 1" drop down from tunnel. Dealer raised it 1 hole so clearance at tunnel now is really close tolerance and steering barely clears the tunnel alum angle Curious your thoughts on this.
    Last question Have you had the jet drive plug up with debris or leaves, thus have an alarm come on and noticed it is not peeing normal.... I had mine plug up and only got 7 mph out of it and found out the grate was totally plugged with leaves I was trolling all day and leaves were falling off the trees. Thanks

    • @mr_walker_chris
      @mr_walker_chris  3 роки тому

      Hey brotha the bottom of your intake should be flush with the top of the tunnel. This prevents drag from being to low or cavitation from being to high. I always turn my motor off as soon as I clear the ramp for a sec to break suction and let all the shore debris fall off the grate while the boat is moving. This normally clears it up initially. In the fall you will have some leaf build up just trim it up and brush em off. Hope this helps my man...🙏

    Great video I have the same boat Model and 80 Jet Has been loads of fun, Question When you first start it, does the steering wheel turn in a erratic fashion until it starts? These boats have manual steering cable and helm and when I start mine, the steering wheel cranks about a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn each time. I don't want to have my hand on the wheel. Curious if yours does the same thing? Or maybe I have a defective steering helm and or cable? I do have a video of mine which I made at start up. If you could let me know by replying back I would appreciate it. Thanks

    • @mr_walker_chris
      @mr_walker_chris  3 роки тому

      Yea the motors are torquey... i think when you hold the wheel maybe you just don't notice it as much. They will jump on you i little when you start em because there is always thrust coming from a jet.

    • @daveholte7658
      @daveholte7658 3 роки тому +1

      @@mr_walker_chris Thanks that is what I thought as they are manual and have never owned a jet. A dealer changed the steering helm on my G3 said it was defective. But the new one does the same thing now... Just need to live with it.

    • @mr_walker_chris
      @mr_walker_chris  3 роки тому

      @@daveholte7658 yea they do it because the trans is direct drive... your only muting the thrust by lowering the flap in neutral. It will still want to jump on you because of the initial thrust.

    Great review, have the same boat, looking to install a transducer for a helix in same position you have it.. how did you run the cable to the middle console? Everything looks welded and the only way I can think to get it up there is to thread it through blind. Also does side imaging work well in that position? Any interference with the jet and bubbles?
