Yep me as a G3 18’ Jet. 1st thing I bought at Tractor Supply a wheel knob for $6.99 A must ! G3 should market it for their weak steering This is the best and no bs video! Well done Much much better than the manufacturer or dealers. This is great. I 100% agree with the advantages and Disadvantages…Thanks to you and Tara for the best ever. Subscribed now
I had an 18ft 2016 crestliner 50hp jet but I can't get around very well because of 50 years of coast to coast trucking and the crestliner was a fine boat but worse than getting out of my Corvette as I to was an athlete at 6'5" 350 I had to get a center console with seats I can get out of. I have a 115/80 jet on my 2018 g3 tunnel and I've been in what looked like 5" of water. I love it but haven't used it much because of my health and the first thing I did was put a steering knob on it and the crestliner because the crtliner embarrassed me the way it steered you could not guide that boat at all anything below 6 or 7 mph. The G3 is much better. Good video ha[py motoring brother.
You mentioned about paint and slippery floor. I went to Menards and bought and installed those industrial rubber mats with drain holes. I put at drivers console and complete bow area. What a lifesaver on knees and so nice to stand on. I believe it quieted down the waves up on plane as well
I know this is a few months old but the robocup holders rock. Ive had them on my boat with the tool tray and large cup add on. The large cup holds a nalgene 32 ounce and then I can dump my pockets into everything else.
That's a sweet boat Luke! Are you able to get the bow up high if needed to avoid taking a wave over the bow? Or is that a trade off with that jet plate acting like trim tabs to keep it level?
Do you see a need for floatation pods on your G3 20ccj? I plan to run skinny water up river and float back down. Trying for maximum buoyancy without dragging bottom. Any thoughts on PODS?
If you want to float and not be under power it would surely help keep your back end up a little, on plain, and under power it wouldn't make a difference imo, may even cause porpoise issues, be curious to see someone do pods on a 20ccj though
Just deck screws. I'm going to remove use different locking ones this year as those ones come loose. I couldn't get below it use nuts, I tried, cut out giant holes even...oops
I have had an 18/60 g3 ccj tunnel hull with 90/65 Yamaha since 2005. I had two seat pedestals mounted about 40 inches apart on my back raised deck. I put 5 rod holders on a piece of 2 inch channel iron and put 2 extra holes in it so I can drop 2 pedestals in, set the rack on top and use 3/4 inch implement pins to pin the bar to the pedestals. All comes apart when you don't want it there.
I've had great success with the boat on lakes. I honestly think mine does great on them. Luckily the thrust plate or whatever you call it usually wears and that part is relatively cheap lol
@@FishOnLuke maybe because yours is fairly deep with strikes and a tunnel it tracks better. Mine is an alweld with a totally smooth bottom made as a mud boat to slide over mud. No strikes, keen or tunnel. It's utterly terrible in the lakes but on a river I have no issue blasting over small sand/gravel bars and it works great for that. Since I'm primarily a river rat I'm happy with it.
I loveeee this one - top notch Luke!
Thanks again Tera! You are the best☺️
Great review Luke! Most in-depth honest review on UA-cam for a 20 ccj.
Brandon, you need to do one on yours now!

Loved that boat the first time I saw the size of the dance floor!
Thanks for the info Luke! I’m looking at purchasing one for my guiding business on the Croix. You can really take these boats anywhere!
That shallow water capability is very impressive 👏 👌 we fish our river spot on atvs its so shallow. We call it bottom out boating on the landboats.

I agree with you Luke. That’s a sweet boat.
Great video!
Amazing, thanks Luke!!

Awesome video!
how long does a tank of gas last? i always been a kayak fisherman wanna get a boat this seems like something i like or a 18 footer
I get about 4 miles per gallon of gas, 27 gallons, little over 100 miles per tank. The smaller jets are much more efficient.
Awesome Job
How fast does it get on plan with 3 people? What is speed with two or three people?
Very fast and 36 Mph
Great video! May I ask what brand and where did you purchase your headlights?
Ebay and no brand I can remember, they are difficult to find now I've tried for others
@FishOnLuke, okay, thank you anyways!
Luke what size whale tail is that? Large?
How did you mount the bar rack? Screws or bolts and nuts?

What size jet doctor did you put on?
Boats cool but can’t get down with the forward console !
Literally the best part
There 18 foit cabin crusrrs
Worst things with my jets:
When you really hit something it's EXPENSIVE. second: they suck if you try to use em in a lake. Spin like a top
