Really old-school style of building. I've been using this trick for 30 years, and it still holds up nice today on the board, even against more modern terrain kits, but vastly more expensive. Keep up the great work, bub. I will definitely check out more from you.
The build was a very clever idea and very well executed, but TBH I skipped or muted half the video. The music was obnoxious at best and certainly more trouble than it was worth. As for commentary, the way to do a video like this is to film yourself doing the build but with no sound, then edit the footage down to the relevant parts cutting or speeding up as necessary. For example, we did not need to see the entire disassembly of the toy. Then record a separate voice track that you can edit and add to the video, synching it to explain what you did at each step. You can do that at your computer with a mic and even a few pieces of acoustic foam in a corner and it will sound a lot better. As it is, if you just have a mic standing there while you work or even clipped to your lapel, I literally cannot hear a word you're saying. Hope that helps.
As someone who also scratchbuild & toy bashes.....I can tell you I love your style. I too love the derelict / dystopian look but I was amazed brother. From one artist to another ......bravo!!!!
Yeeeeeeees so cool!!! I happen to have this toy in my scratchbuilt supply box……had no solid ideas on what to do with it, but necromunda it shall be. Thanks for the great video.
Can't think of anything but to echo what everyone else has said. Gorgeous work out of just one toy, and the way you reused the lights from that toy is brilliant!
Thanks very much. I haven't been as active on UA-cam as I'd have liked since doing this one but I'm hoping to change that soon! This was a fun one though!
That looks so incredible. Just to get that from a fire truck is inspirational. You must have a fantastic imagination. I try and throw stuff together like that and it just looks like a pile of crap I have thrown together!! 😂😂
Absolutely incredible video and an equally incredible build. All the dirt, grime, rust, blinking lights and grimdark soundtrack made me feel like I was scraping to survive on some oppressive Hive World. Excited to see more, from one Belfastian to another :D
Thanks very much that's very kind! 😂 And you're a fellow Belfastonian? That's cool! I need to get plugged in to the local gaming community since coming back to hobby stuff!
Ooh, that tool rack on the side of the fire engine is a great piece of detail. I liked the knolling of all the bits at the start of the build. Looking at the photos of the finished terrain I would never have guessed what it was made from. The video is great; and I was tickled by the first piece of music after commenting on Luke's facebook page that you should cue the music from John Carpenter's "The Thing". :D Doing the hazard stripes with a marker is neat. And salvaging the truck's lighting is great too.

Very impressive scratch build from just one toy. Please do some more of these. Inspiring.
Thanks very much! I plan to! 👍
@@revenantworkshop175 I'm gutted I sold a massive toy fire engine I had stashed away now lol.

I can not believe you are a master
Ha ha thanks that's very kind! I'm not sure that's true but I certainly enjoy doing it!
The enough talk, got an instant sub, not an easy task on a first video watch from a creator.
Thanks very much! 👍

Ha ha thanks very much! 👍
That is rediculously good, not just for what it is, but full stop, you gained a subscriber
Ha ha thanks very much! 👍
Proves what can be done with a little ingenuity. Excellent work and loved the shot with the back-light, that gave a great atmosphere. Well done!
Thanks very much!
This looks great. It reminds me of New Haven from Borderlands.
Thanks very much!
Wow the end results with all the gorgeous led work is just breathtaking to behold!
Thanks very much!
Great build, Stephen!
Thanks very much appreciate it!
That came out really well!
Thanks very much! 👍
Dig the video, looking forward to more.

Really inventive and a great result!
Thanks!
i love the layout and im really impressed at how versatile that truck was. a little overkill on the texture paint tho.
Appreciate your opinion! 😂
Naw, I think the amount of texture paint works. A mix of rust and dust and grunge. All par for the course with Necromunda.
well done
Sick as hell. Good job.
Thanks very much! Glad you like it! 👍
Great stuff!

Incredible transformation!

This is just awesome. May I ask for a recipe for a texture paste? Well I hope it's not dozens of stirland mud pots)

Very cool job, my man! 👍🏻

Ha ha thanks very much! The knolling was very satisfying! Yeah that music was composed by a friend and "carpenteresque" was a major request from me!
@@revenantworkshop175 That friend has got some musical chops, and no mistake. Oh, and I've been looking up Fire Trucks on Amazon and Ebay :D
@@euansmith3699 it's a great toy to start with! The ladders are terrain making gold! 😂
Awesome build! Definitely gave me some good ideas. (Music made me want to play the original x-com lol)
Thanks! Yeah I know what you mean actually! Love x-com!
Super awesome build. I like the lights you used, ¿what type of lights did you use here?. Thanks.
Great video Steve - looks amazing! 👍
Any info on the fire truck. I mostly do 1/18th stuff. And the bits could be useful

Great work. What is that material you used for base? MDF?
It's actually just a piece of ply I had lying around! I'd used the other half for the base of a previous build!
