'House of the Dragon' Season 2, Episode 4 Deep Dive

On this episode of the Story Archives Show, Mario and Zach recap season two, episode four, ‘A Dance of Dragons’. Rhaenyra returns from King’s Landing ready for war and Damon continues his efforts in Harrenhal while Cole continues his conquest of the Crownlands.
Both sides deal with the tragic aftermath of Jaehaerys death, with ’s side getting the brunt of the bad PR. Otto is removed as hand of the king. Daemon flies away. Cole continues to empower himself. Myseria is freed and two brothers fight to the bitter end.
House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO. A prequel to Game of Thrones (2011-2019), it is the second television series in the A Song of Ice and Fire franchise. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik served as the showrunners for the first season. Based on parts of Martin's 2018 book Fire & Blood, the series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. Featuring an ensemble cast, the show portrays the events leading up to the decline of House Targaryen, a devastating war of succession known as the "Dance of the Dragons".

Also, one other side note. I was thinking in the moment that Aemond wouldn’t interfere once he saw Aegon come flying in. It would’ve been just fine for him to stay put, knowing Rhaenys would likely kill him. And he accomplishes basically what he wanted to happen anyway.

Yoooo. Loving the ep so far, but needed to quickly make a comment and then get back to work. I fully support not watching the previews for next weeks eps. BUUUUUT....after the previews, there's about a 5-10 min video after each episode with actors, producers, directors, show runners that give super valuable context and information about that episode. Not in a spoiler'y way or anything, just thought processes about why something happened.
I honestly think those could REALLY help you guys in the recap eps. Sometimes there's just things that they explain in those that you guys talk about in your recap and I'm sitting there thinking they'd not be speculating about this particular thing if they'd watched that.
Not meaning to negatively critique or anything, just thought it'd be helpful. Love the pod, keep up the great work. :)

Based on what I’ve seen. GRRM said that unlike GOT, his prequel series will go on as long as they need to and not be butchered like GOT (he didn’t add the last part, but that’s what it sounded like)
