The Third Eye Angel I’m glad grandma is doing (I’m late to the video 🙈). When I was how high up the glycerin was on the ingredient list I made a quick pass. I may pick up the overnight mask because I really like the one from curl origin and sometimes I start my wash day Friday night and finish Saturday morning
Thank you! Yeah this collection is VERY glycerin heavy. I do really like that overnight mask, I just hate that the stylers took away all of the moisture it gave. Tfw love 💜

I think the issue with a lot of natural hair products is that it focuses wayyyy too much on moisture when water is what does it best. I think what a lot of people experience is actually over moisturized hair; which in many cases manifests as dry hair. Over moisturized hair has lifted cuticles and that’s what causes the dryness. Whenever I uses products with such an emphasis on moisture, I’m left with hair that feels like silk when wet, but when it dries, it’s crispy as the dickens. I remember when I was younger and all my Mom did was shampoo my hair and it was soft and moisturized on its own, so I tried it again, and my hair actually feels pretty good on its own. Curly hair is still hair and my guess is that products geared toward curly hair tend to be wayyy too heavy and dont allow the hair to just be hair. I don’t think our hair is as dry as companies make it out to be, we just grew accustomed to the overconditioned feel
I think a lot of people experience over moisturized hair. Just did a whole video on that. But, honestly brands are only going to spend money creating what we say we want. Of course brands can educate on product usage but it’s on the consumer to actually take the time to learn how to care for the hair so that they can shop for products based on their needs. But if we really get to the root of it, a lot of people just don’t want their textured hair to feel like what it is and aside from proper/balanced representation there isn’t much a brand can do with that. Overall, I’ve never had a moisturizing product tear my hair up like these have so that’s not an experience I can speak on. Tfw 💕💕💕
I didn't realize they took the organics off their label. I didn't have a desire to use this line. Sorry to hear you didn't like it.
Yeah it’s slowly been removed from their labeling. I’ll just stick with my Mielle staples and pray nothing changes lol! Tfw 💕
Thank you for this honest review. Unfortunately, Mielle has not been transparent with regard to their ingredients. I LOVED their original White Peony Leave-in. It was my first real staple product. I didn't even know they had significantly changed the formula (adding glycerin and silicones as the primary ingredients), until I was about to repurchase and wondered why the packaging changed! The name even changed from Mielle Organics to Mielle. I wish they could've at least maintained the quality of their core products...
I think that’s my thing, if you come out with new products and want to switch up ingredients cool. But the existing collection was so highly coveted that I don’t understand why they would change ingredients. I understand some things have to be added to products for them to be sold on the shelves, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Mielle. It just seems as though quality is no longer the focus which isn’t cool. The quality was what I first fell in love with so it’s sad to see these changes. Tfw 💜

I actually watched Quinn Rae's video yesterday, and she was confused about what the gel was REALLY for too. And she said, the leave in basically feels like the one from the honey & pomegranate line. Not interested in this line (not a fan of ginger), but glad you reviewed it.
I watched her review but I’ve been so exhausted as of late I don’t remember half of what I saw 😭😭 I’m wondering if the Pom honey leave in was changed because the one I own is the first one I purchased and it’s very thin, reminiscent of a She Scent It or Soultanicals leave in. And I really don’t like the contradicting info on the labels. Just a mess 🤦🏾♀️Tfw 💜💜💜

So sorry these didn't work for you. I had a similar experience w/Urban Hydration' honey line. Deceptive moisturizatiin (moisturizing going on; dry hay hair afterwards). I still like Mielle's Avocado Milk, although the ingredients have changed (lots more chemical ingredients). I won't repurchase the Almond Mint oil for that reason (used to be almond oil and peppermint; now the first ingredients are cheaper oils, and a couple more additives). I do want to try the rosemary mint line. Not invested in the "copycat" stuff; I think Mane Choice is unoriginal and gimmicky; can't keep their zillion lines straight). Again, sorry this didn't work ☹️
Yeah I hate the changes especially because the quality really was nice back in the day. I’ve been curious about the rosemary mint, but nothing from the line really grabbed my attention. Now I’m the opposite with Mane Choice. Her stuff is some of the best I own and I actually see the quality represented in price, performance, and customer service. I think her line can be overwhelming, but she has something for every customer so it’s a pro and con in itself. I hate how bad these Mielle products were for me but at least I still have my pomegranate honey lol. Tfw 💜
The Third Eye Angel Some of TMC glazes look interesting (and sound suitable for my hair. I tried the Ancient Egyptian leave in and it was just thick, no other benefits. I thought it would be emollient. Nope. Wasted $25 ☹️ I've been turned off from giving up coins to try anything else (though watching reviews like yours are making me a little more open 😉). Thanks!
It’s always discouraging when you have less than favorable experiences with a brand! I always suggest trying out TMC on Black Friday because she does %50 and sometimes more. That way you can really try them out without dropping a whole paycheck lol!
@@TheThirdEyeAngel I tried Mielle products exactly like that, black friday sale. My low porosity hair (protein overload) hair did improve, but it was the Creme of Nature's Honey leave-in that really made the difference, plus the Mielle (Pomegranate) was too highly fragranced, nice but too much. Just prayed for your grandmother. Keep praising God! 🙂❤
The African Pride Moisture Miracle prepoo is my favorite prepoo too. I purchased this Mielle line and won’t be repurchasing. The gel seemed drying and my hair was also tangled. I ended up redoing my hair the next day with Camille Rose naturals

They dropped 'Organics' from their brand name, I noticed right around the time the Pomegranate and Honey Collection came out. Unfortunately, this seems to be happening alot of brands that start out 'natural and organic' but slowly begin to phase in 'not so natural' ingredients into their formulas as they expand (this basically happened to Shea Moisture and Carol's Daughter in my opinion.)
Just used this product and i used it overnight like it says and my curls were magnificent in the morning. Made my hair feel excellent

Thanks for the honest review, you have saved me a few dollars. 😘 I was shocked that you had to shingle, your texture shouldn't require that extra step. I never have used any Mielle products and probably won't. Thanks to all of you hair divas and my own research, I am learning about some new and moisturizing products. 🥰
I absolutely thought I was going crazy with the leave in moisturizer, it literally tangled my daughters hair just as you said & the more I worked it in it was worse. Thank you so much! As expensive as it is, I stopped using it after 3 days & went bank to my normal care for my daughters hair & it also left her hair dry & crispy too. I even tried using water with it. It’s a no for me too.
Sorry to hear it turned it out like that for you. I only used the leave-in and butter and they've worked best on my hair lol compared to the honey & pomegranate. The xr gave me the most moisture and was way lighter, the honey one was to thick and sticky in a way for me and my curls didn't like it at all. It also would just sat on my hair ugh it was terrible i only kept the custard and smoothie because those were the only two out of the line that seemed to work with my curls and i could mix with my other products. But i do understand we all have different hair other things work better or worse for some ig. So you could say this was a trail and error but overall great video! its always best to just be honest about these reviews and always use products that work for you!
Don’t worry about self care Sunday, your grandmother is more important. The hospitals are crazy! They discharged my aunt and she had knee surgery and lives alone also. I hope your grandmother is okay. We love you and we will be right here when you have time to post ♥️

Yeah I’d say just be careful with application. Nobody wants their hair breaking off. Hopefully you’ll have a better experience than I did!

Completely agree with you. I had similar, frizzy results. I hated the leavein. Just felt like it was sitting on my hair. Didn’t feel as moisturizing as the Pom and honey.
The pomegranate honey is definitely more moisturizing. I’ll just stick with those and my honey & ginger styling gel! Tfw 💜💜💜

Mielle has never been in my "go-to" pool of brands to search for products from for the exact reasons you described here. I don't own ANY of their products, tbh, the ingredient lists scare me away every time I get curious about something. im sorry this experience wasn't pleasant.
I ordered the Pomegranate & Honey gel online from Target and online it was in a tub with a blue label. When the order arrived, this is what I received instead. It’s of course nothing at all like the gel I thought I was getting. It doesn’t give me definition I like for wng but I’ll try it for twist outs and finger coils. Since it was only $7 I can make it work so that I don’t run thru my KCKK & Curly Magic so quickly but won’t repurchase.
Target has a bad habit of doing that 🤦🏾♀️ If you give them a call they should send you the item you actually ordered and they never ask you to return what you got on accident. But yeah, I have a special place in my heart for that pomegranate honey custard. I love Mielle gels so I’m really disappointed with how this turned out! Hopefully you’ll be able to use the gel for other styles. Tfw 💜💜💜
I tried the gel as well. It’s entirely too light weight. I couldn’t use it as a wash and go product because it gave me just too much frizz. I can only use it for twist outs and things like that. That gel is WAY too soft and the products don’t have enough slip. I won’t buy it again.

Maybe it's just your hair type it worked great on my 3c hair
Hair type doesn’t make a product cause massive tangling. And with a hair type as defined as mine, there should be no need for shingling. It just didn’t work 🤷🏾♀️
Glad your gma doing better. I've been seeing mix reviews on this line. I was going to buy on black Friday but ima pass if you don't like it. Mielle turning into shea moisture with ingredients change. They change white peony leave-in and babassu mint dc and tried they didn't in the beginning until people was showing packages. I'll stick to the hair milk and mongongo dc unless they change those too.

They changed the hair milk too. I noticed it last year. I'm mad because that's my favorite product from them. I'm on my last bottle of the old formula and been trying to find more. I've been using it since 2016! I hate when companies do that!
Im just not excited about this Mielle line. I've never seen your hair look this bad before. Please pardon my bluntness, no disrespect intended at all. I began to suspect Mielle when she stopped putting Organics on the label and the products started becoming mediocre. I like the Pomegranate and Honey collection (not the smoothie) though. I thought i was the only one who noticed she liked to copy but she doesn't do it well. It's like comparing champagne and beer. Please review Adwoa Beauty, they are an absolutely lovely brand.
Hehe no disrespect taken! I couldn’t agree more because my hair was looking ROUGH and it looks even worse today 🤣 And I agree on the name change. I know brands like Camille Rose have changed their name for legal reasons, but if I recall correctly Mielle used to state the percentage of organic ingredients in the products. In this case it just seems that quantity is being prioritized over quality and I’m not here for it! I plan on picking up Adwoa in the near future. It’s been highly requested as of late! Tfw 💜💜

My stylist told me to do twist outs and such on old wash and goes and it works wonders! Less shrinkage and you don't have to use much product. I just use my favr twisting product after rewetting and thus reactivating the old product
I had the same experience with the gel, really disliked the leave in same thing with breaking and tangling hair, overnight mask was meh with water and was a no with out. Only thing I would use again just to finish it up is the "butter" that didn't feel like a butter
It seems like a lot of people are experiencing this which really sucks 😞 I wanted to try the butter but they didn’t have it in store. It’s probably for the better though. Tfw💜💜💜

It is supposed be directed towards Type 3 hair but some others may get away with using it I wonder if I can getaway with using this product I have high porosity hair 3A and3B little mix of 2C
This product line works wonders on my hair. Pricewise....cheap can be good and expensive bad. Definitely differed strokes for different folks. Sorry it didn't work for you. Definitely we have to try for ourselves to actually know what works. 💜

I wasn’t impressed with the leave-in conditioner from this line. Like at all. The hair butter and the gel are pretty good though. I also had to shingle a little bit with the gel though, and I normally don’t shingle also
Yeah that leave in is a no. A lot of people told me that they preferred the gel on top of other things. I may try it on top of the Pomegranate Honey leave-in, but I also kinda just want to get my money back 🤣🤣 Tfw 💜
I hated this line, it made my hair dry as hell. Used it once, waste of money. straight up trash.
Wow, that's why I stick to my Staples in my hair regimen instead of trying everything that come out on the market. Just stick with what goes and works for your hair and the porosity and type and go from there your save lots and lots of money. I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you😯🙏
Its crazy that all the reviews ive seen on these products are bad but this line is my holy grail for wash and gos. However i use the moisturizer and gel together instead of the leave in. Gives these softest and bounciest wash n gos ive ever had.

Have you tried the overnight conditioner as a regular deep conditioner?
I saw this a day late. I only liked the moisture butter. But I doubt if I will repurchase. The rest of the line I put in the garbage where it belongs. I’ll stick with Pantene botanicals.
The pomegranate and honey coil sculpting custard directions says the same about reducing flaking.

The moment they change the ingredients of their babassu mint deep conditioner I'm DONE. That DC has great ingredients. Her newer items have terrible ingredients and I'm afraid she'll cheap out and switch up everything. Anyway, I had the SAME results as you did with this leave in / gel combo. Together they suck. My hair was so dry and frizzy on day 2! Smh However, I love the Mielle Hawaiian ginger leave in with Uncle Funky's Daughter gel. My wash n go could have lasted for longer than 7 days and my hair was soooo soft. It was hard to keep my hands out of it. Lol

Alexandria Russell Agreed ! It's the only product I use from Mielle as well. On Black Friday I buy so many of these. Like at least 10. I like how thin it is, so my low porosity hair just drinks it up. It's my go-to protein treatment. The ingredients are very clean so I really hope she never changes them or discontinues the product. I may revisit that Cowash of hers. I'm still on the hunt for a good detangler and I remember her detangling cowash being good. I'm almost on year 2 of being natural and I still don't have a solid routine down. lol almost there though
You should really try the line again. This time use the butter and gel, along with the leave in
I’m good. I have too many things in my collection to go back and forth to make a line work. Once it tears my hair up, that’s it lol.

Heard that leave-in was straight trash. Most Mielle products tangle and mat my hair anyway, which is unacceptable. I usually just stay away from their products😖

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this line was bad. The gel is HORRIBLE and doesn't hold a thing, it also flaked with the Honey Pom twisting souffle
