One project that has been going on for way too long is the work on all of the cabinets in our boat. Started in January of 2020, it's time for them to finally get checked off our list of things to do.
Enjoy!!
We hope you enjoy!

Thank you Conor. You want to talk overwhelmed. Watching Jess sand and fair for months on end is overwhelming for her and for us. Seeing all those green and gray and blue ugly walls get painted was a breath of fresh air. And now......on to the next project.
The comedy sketch at the end! Gotta' keep that sense of humor for sure! Thanks Connor!
How could you not get the work done with such enthusiasm from Connor, We might say he's a gas ticket! Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
He definitely kept our spirits up and kept us moving!!
Connor seems like one of those folks that is just never down about anything. Great to have great friends.
Seeing Conor's multiday stint, really puts into perspective the massive achievement of Matt & Jessica. It only adds to the respect of the builders v the factory visitor boat build channels
I have come to the realization that my life has gotten to the point where I am willing to "watch paint dry"!? But then I remind myself that I am here for the progress. Thanks for living through this so I don't have to.
The lower the shelf/compartment, the further away from the light source, the more a bright white high gloss finish will be appreciated, reflecting the available light, in order to be able to see what's in the back.
It was nice of Connor to help with the cabinets there was a lot of progress made looking forward to more.
And once the cabinets are done, we can begin wiring!! 😃
Nice progress, thanks Conner!
What a difference paint makes. Thanks, Connor
Huge difference!! 😃 Every time some of that green foam or the fairing compound gets covered, my heart gets a little lighter, haha.
What a coat of paint does! BUT, it would never look as smooth and uniform if you hadn't done the hard work fairing first. Well done. Looks great coming together!
Wow what an amazing job you guys are doing but what a mountain to climb! But that will make the other side of the mountain that much better to Traverse down and look back at the accomplishment😊!!
nice episode. what a nice guy! i wonder if it would be an advantage to use longer high and low pressure lines to locate the fridge compressor below deck rather than dedicate some useful space in the galley to just a compressor
Connor seems like a great guy, Thank you for helping out. Jessica remember, Conner would not have gotten as far as he did without all that prep work you did! It's great to see friends come together and help out. It's all looking great !!!
The cabinets are looking great. Good job Connor.
Congrats Jess, you deserve the promotion to project manager 😀
Made me laugh at the end, Connor's a good friend to have help you expedite finishing.
Hey we met Connor today on 4th street. Nice fella
Watching you build inspired my to gut out my fishing boat and refiberglass the inner hull where there was 30 years of rotten wood inside. Hoping to finish painting the outer hull next week. Keep up the amazing work.
Jess, why not give a call to Joyce ,and have her come down and help sand and prime--I'm sure she'd LOVE too !!!
I keep meaning to!! 😃👍
Will you have Connor come back to help again? I hope so.. I think that having friends to come help, gives you both a boast of encouragement,
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Paint looks great.
Thank you!! It's definitely been a mood booster for us to see a noticeable difference in here again. 😊
Along with a great channel you’ve got me hooked on one of your background songs “Walk Ahead by Blood Red Sun” can’t get the damn thing out of my head!
You guys can start an "America Best Fairer" project where friends come and compete to see who is the best sanders while Jessica rates their performance:) The winners will recieve fame and fortune as they launch their careers in nautical sanding and painting.
Just don't start them off on overhead sanding their first day... that is brutal!
My dad will be here in 2 weeks, we're definitely going to have to rate his fairing skills!! - Jessica
Mixing the gloss and flat paint together is a great idea for the cabinets! They look great!
Love to see the progress Connor helped to accomplish.
It helped us out soooo much!! Once the cabinets are done, we can begin the wiring!!
@@MJSailing You have done a magnificent job making sanding, faring, and painting look interesting. Good luck doing the same with wiring. I love to see any progress and your enthusiasm, so I know you'll do great!
Looks nice and you guys have good friend
Great video
Leave those coves alone Jessica! Just remember, stiff w I’ll be in them. No one will judge you for the quality of inside corners in the back of your closed cabinets…..
ME!! I will judge myself each time I open these cabinets, haha.
Connor you rock!!
That was awful nice of Connor to come and help you guys out. Man I miss Michigan Connor does really good work.❤
;-) Nice work Connor.
Is that the same Connor who sailed with Delos?? He's the smartest guy in the world - 2 boats and no boat payments!
Hahaha, yes, same guy!
Oh Jessica🎉🎉🎉
In 5 years time, woe to the first person that slides a can out of the cupboard and leaves a mark!
You’ll be 6 months in the slip fixing it.
But seriously we’ll done I couldn’t do it, I’d save up and fly in a couple of guys from the factory, they really know how to pump out a fantastic finish.
Free labor, whats not to like. Ata-boy Connor. How are you going to finish the honeycomb edges in the cabinets?
I think we'll fill them with fairing compound and paint them, and then place fiddles at the edges to keep things from sliding out.
Is that the fine china we gave you as a wedding present you are using to dip up primer?!?
The little things take the longest time. Also you get bored with the little tasks
I think you are wise in seeking additional help, if only for your emotional well being !
Yeah, I really needed a push in that area. We're so glad Connor was able to help. And in a few weeks, my dad will be coming to lend a hand too! 😃
Conor was great on SV Delos...
He told us about fainting while getting his tattoo - now I'll have to go watch that episode!
@@MJSailing It was a very funny video.
And The Academy Award goes to??? CONNOR. 😂🤣
I hate giving advice but wip up the filler it will spread much better which means a lot less sanding
thumbnail: "what ya doing step-sander."
🤣🤣🤣🤣
conner how was that crossing with delos?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A real worker..fortunate…but how does he not have paint all over his clothes? Great progress!!
You may have mentioned this in another episode, but why didn't you spray all of the cabinets?
Too hard for us to get our sprayer into those areas. I'm sure some could do it, but we can't get it to apply well at that distance
Not sure I understand why the emphasis on smoothing inside lockers and storage units. It seems to me it would make sense to thicken the primer/paint and roll it on, creating a textured finish, similar to an orange peel finish in a house.
The smoother the surface, the easier it is to keep clean. Little dimples from orange peel gathers dust and dirt, and is a good spot for mold to grow.
Good question and good informative reply@@MJSailing
😎💙👍
👏👏👍
Cats and women always seem to get what they want but no one can figure how they do it.
And we'll never tell. 😉
I'm with Matt on this; I love Jessica but I absolutely can't watch another minute of sanding/fairing/painting closets. I've taken to 'skipping' ( and, trust me, that's not a good thing if you have a You tube channel).
Ya know Matt, Jess is really beautiful and hot and all but maybe you may want to trade her in for Connor. Just saying. LOL
Oh no!! You've let Jar Jar Connor on your boat????!!!! I sense less interest in watching......
